This is a well maintained public course in Tustin.  Ted Robinson designed course.  Greens are tricky to read.  Challenging layout.

Great practice facility.

The one drawback is that the green fees are expensive.  If I'm going to spend that kind of money, I'd rather play elsewhere.

We let our 14 year old join the Junior Summer Play program.  $499 for 3 months of play.  I think it is a bargain, especially cuz I'm gonna make her do it!  The course is really pretty and well maintained.  The staff seems very nice.  I feel like I am at a Country Club instead of a public club.

Like most of the premium golf courses in OC, Tustin Ranch (TR) is pricey. So you're looking at about $130 to $80 for green fees. Of course, it's a bit cheaper for twilight rates. There's a nice practice facility with grass tees from Monday to Thursday. The practice greens are really nice at this facility as well.

The course is designed by Ted Robinson, who also designed Robinson Ranch in Santa Clarita and Temeku Hills in Temecula. There are plenty of tees for different playing skills. The course plays pretty long from the back tees and the fairways are nice and wide with plenty of undulations. Like many Robinson courses, the greens are huge and have many different elevations. The whole course runs through many housing developments so that takes a few points away from it in my book. The course always is in good conditions and somedays I play there the rough is cut really high like in the US Open.

But the best thing about TR is the teaching professionals there. Please see Erik and/or Ken for lessons, club fitting or junior programs. These guys have been voted the best of the region. Overall, it's good golf and a good place to run a tournament. Last, they have a great Sunday brunch at the fine restaurant there. Great place to go Cougar hunting, if you know what I mean.

A superb public course.  When the TRGC was originally built it was supposed to be a private club, but after poor interest in membership it was opened as public.  Don't expect the fees to be anything like a regular public course, though!

I remember the last time I played there it cost about $150/person, including the cart.

Coming from the 405 on Tustin Ranch Road, you'll see a great big sign that says, "Tustin Golf Ranch" and that's where you turn in. It could be a little confusing because you see the golf course at an intersection and automatically think to turn in at the next entrance(Greenway), but that's to residential housing. Beautiful entrance, ample parking. I was able to just walk up and get a spot on the driving range without having to wait. Much better than Rancho Park Driving Range. Seventy balls cost $11, but if you buy their frequent user card, it's less.

I love this course.  From the driving range where on Mon-Wed you hit off the grass for the same price as the mats, to the beautiful course, this course is a true gem and well worth the price of admission.  The staff is extremely helpful and the pro shop caters to the younger crowd with more hip golf wear.  If you haven't played this course I highly recommend it!

$90 for twilight in the summer time is worth it.  We started around 3:00pm and finished by 7:30pm.  Joe, the starter, was a really nice guy.  He made us feel welcomed.  The carts here are freaking awesome.  The GPS is a tablet.  They don't do the dinky GPS screens here.  The course runs through a track of homes so their isn't much scenary.  Just backyards.  The course was definitely in great shape but the people here really enhanced the experience.  I would join the club if I lived down here.  But I am moving back to SF where the golf sucks.

Beautiful public course.  played a golf tournament at this course. (it was a shotgun tourney--I'm no pro). The course is well kept, greens are nice but leveled and fast. Definitely challenging, some nice par 3s. Water hazards on a few holes.

maybe Im not the best person to review anything golf related, but heck. The course if really nice, and so is the bathrooms. I did the driving range thing..sort out some frustrations, but didnt work out considering I couldnt hit the damn ball. I ended up braking 2 of those little tee things. pretty cheap for the driving range, but prbably cost a pretty penny for the course action.

5 1/2 hours for a round of 18. for a premium public course, that's unacceptable. the marshals were notified a number of times but there was no change in time of play. and on the 17th and 18th hole, we waited around 10min just to tee off.

the course was not bad, but for a $160 a round fee, not worth it. fairways were a bit worn and brown, greens solid and fairly true rolls, good amenities. all in all, too expensive for a mediocre course, and the marshals were not doing their jobs.
