Tuscany is Mark Eaton's restaurant and is about a 15 minute drive from downtown Salt Lake City but was well worth the drive.  They are valet only, and located RIGHT off the freeway.  The ambiance is just like you'd imagine Tuscany to be (speaking as someone who's never actually been to Tuscany).  The restaurant showcases the kitchen and then juts off into several rooms, so each table feels very cozy.  The bread was DELICIOUS ... crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.  I had the pear salad to start, which was served with arugula, radicchio, endive, Gorgonzola cheese, pine nuts and a deliciously tart champagne vinegrette.  I ate the entire thing, down to the last pine nut.  For my entree, I had the Fruitti di Mare (think Seafood Stew).  If you like garlic and don't mind olives, you will love it.  The whole, peeled Roma tomatoes were rich and flavorful, unlike any Roma tomatoes I've ever had.  The portions of seafood were very generous: 5-6 large pieces of salmon and another white fish, 5 or so shrimp, and 4-5 clams.  There were black and green olives swimming in the flavorful broth, and added a tangy punch.  It comes with two pieces of garlic bread, but I actually prefered the naked appetizer bread to sop up all the flavors of the stew.

The pulled pork and beef meatloaf was inventive and went very well with the accompanying berry coulis.  The crusted salmon with couscous was all the rave.  The tea and the creme brulee were both average, but the berry sorbet was creamy and definitely my favorite dessert.

We had dinner here on a Saturday evening with some friends. The appetizers, salads and entrees all tasted worse than I would have expected for the price. I had to send my entree back because it was overcooked. As for the service, it was mediocre at best.

We don't plan on going back any time soon.

We went on a Saturday night and the place was almost empty... so it's very quite. The service is excellent. Appetizers were great... probably some of the best seafood in Utah, but the main dishes were not nearly as nice as expected. Too bad.  Unfortunately, the good service can't compensate for mediocre gourmet food.  If you're in this neighborhood, I recommend dining at La Caille.

I bet this is one of the fanciest restaurants in Salt Lake City as of winter 2008.
First of all they wouldn't let us park our car due to "insurance liability reasons" which is fine and only costs $3.
Second of all they made us wait 10 minutes while they were making our table ready; and that's on Tue night! That's also fine because we couldn't even get in here last Saturday.
The place is beautiful inside and out. I guess this use to be some kind of a lodge.
They do have a premium bar, but their wine selection is not that good (you have to give it to the Utah state liquor laws here).
Overall the food was great. Even my wife, who's known for being really picky with restaurant food, was pleasantly surprised. I use to work at some high-end Italian restaurants back in the day and so I know what does quality food taste like - this is it!
You could totally see the crowd is very reach around here and me and my wife and our '91 Subaru didn't exactly fit in here. The only reason why we could afford it was a gift certificate from http://Restaurant.com .

P.S. There was only one hispanic cook in the kitchen (no offense) and our server was gay so we're definitely coming back!
