The TM is a great place to meet friends for a drink, apps, and a meal.
Disclaimer, I've only come for happy hour and only sat in the bar area. Fun, not outrageously loud, and friendly.
I'm a beer drinker and this is a good place for that. They brew their own and I've always found the right ale for me (usually the porters or stouts).
During happy hour the prices are great -
$2 for 12oz, $3 for pint, $4 for 22oz.
The happy hour menu is also a bargain. A personal pizza, the hummus, or other dips (spinach) can serve as a meal for one or good snack for up to 3. Most apps are only $5 or $6. Sadly they don't have the 1/2 nachos on happy hour any more ... used to be the best bargain around.
Regular food: pizzas=very good and decent price
hamburgers = tasty but a little expensive
calzone = massive. Not a fair judge of calzones so not fair to rate.
When busy, parking is TERRIBLE. Few spots in their lot, all other parking is along the street and not much of it. Don't park next door, they will tow. I hear some park at the post office nearby.
Service is friendly but they can occasionally find themselves in the weeds when super busy. If busy, relax and don't chug. It's a fine micro-brew ... enjoy it. -

So came here with a pretty good size group (17 or so). I came in early to speak with the hostess and e-mailed the manager, since they don't take reservation, trying to ensure we wouldn't get shut out. Showed up 30 minutes before the rest of the party & put my name in just to make double sure... Well, an hour later we finally had a seat, which all-in-all wasn't the end of the world since half of the party showed up around that same time anyway.
We were sat in the back "banquet" room, which consisted on plastic folding tables, but whatever, with a party that big, beggars can't be choosers... Anyway, I believe the manager was our waiter, and he did a pretty damn good job of waiting on our party, but the food and the beer all night was just mediocre... This place was packed, so they certainly don't seem to be hurting for business. Maybe we just caught them on an off night, or there's just a general lack of a good brewpub in the neighborhood, not sure...
Not a bad place to end up for a quick beer and a bite, but I think I'd look around a bit harder before settling on this place again.
Highlight of the night was a bachelorette party seated behind us - as they got up to leave, one of the aforementioned folding tables collapsed sending a tsunami of plates, glasses, half-eaten food and drinks all crashing onto the floor. Pretty damn entertaining after a few beers! -

Turtle Mountain would definitely be a go to for me if I lived in Rio Rancho, but mostly because there's not much else around that's not generic. Their beer is better than average, but not great. At least it's craft and they do have a few beers that they take some chances on with the flavors. I'm not a fan of microbreweries doing lagers and stuff that tastes like BudMillerCoors, but you have to give the people what they want sometimes I guess.
The food is good, the pizzas especially. Loved my spicy pizza, which was definitely spicier than I expected, which happens a lot in New Mexico. Still a very good option in the area. They have tons of TVs and would be a great place to watch a game I'd imagine. -

We love, love, love Turtle Mountain! The pizza is great and the dessert Apple Calzone is to die for, seriously! The sandwiches and salads are really good as are the specials. We have been here dozens of times and have never had anything we didn't like (okay, except a couple of the beers but that's all).
About the parking... get there early. -

Love this place. The Food is the best part and they have some great beers on top of that. Not the best brewery in 50 miles, but the best in this town!
Downside? Parking. Get a bike Rio Ranchoers! -

I would give this place five stars off the bat but I only went once. Today. I have leftovers of the Adam Bomb pizza and I'm about to eat the rest. It's the best non-traditional pizza I've ever had. Pepperoni, sausage, green chile, pine nuts (what??), spinach, cheese...mmmmmm. The Raspberry Fields beer was pretty fantastic as well.

Horrible policies, even worse owner.
I had gone in with a group of twenty that consisted of 8 different households. When we told her we would need separate checks, she told us it was policy not to split checks and let us know she was the only server in her section so she was going to be busy. She also pointed out on the back of the menu that we would be subject to a 25% gratuity charge. I am a server, I always tip at least 30%, but I feel that it should be my choice and a tip is a reflection of the service I received. Doing a forced 25% is crazy. 18-20% is normal. She wouldn't do a basic thing like splitting checks but expected an above average tip. After arguing with the rude server about how we needed split checks and her being completely dismissive more than half of us decided not to eat there and we hung around while some of the family members had their dinner. The rest of us went to Dion's afterwards and experienced amazing service. I wish this was the end of the story.
I know that at the restaurant I work at we always want to know if we've upset a guest so we know what we can do to fix it in the future. I decided I would send them an e-mail letting them know that their policies cost them at the minimum $200 that evening. What they don't realize is it is costing them thousands because we will all never return there ever again. The owner wrote me back saying I must not have told the server beforehand that we needed split checks, because they can do it if they're told first. He also told me that his servers have gotten screwed over with 15% tips with large parties and so they justify the 25% and they give their servers large sections so they can make money, so sometimes they're just too busy to do things like splitting checks. When I told him it seemed like his focus was his servers and not his customers, his response was
On the contrary. I trust my servers to be fair and reasonable. That's alot
more than we get from some of our customers.

I had not been rude, I was truly trying to be helpful. This guy is rude and the policies of this place is the proof that customer service is dying. I hope anyone planning on eating here thinks twice and goes to Dion's instead. -

Food was good. Service was great. Good beer selection but it was kind of flat... I like that you can turn any of their pizzas into a calzone.

I think I found my new favorite place to go hang out eat great food and drink good beer.
I had a burger called "The Chuck" and "WOW" M-fer it was so awesome. I think this has got to be one of the best places.
It is the only place I have ever been were I actually want to try everything on the menu. It was awesome. Great food and service at a great price. Can't ask for much more than that.
Except maybe a better parking lot. The neighbors next door to them are what kept me from going back because they do not allow parking in an overflow area with plenty of space available. Oh well guess I have to go earlier next time. -

On the way home from 'The Turtle' one night I went through a drunk driving check point. I'd only had one beer, and that's what I told the cop. After I did a little dance and followed Officer Fuckballs' little red light with my eyes while standing on one leg, the cop said he believed I'd only had one beer. I then told him just how delicious that beer was, and I was on my way.
They make damn fine beer here. Try the steam. They also make damn fine pizza. Try the Chicoma or the Cabezon. This place is (rightfully) very popular, making it difficult to get a table (or even a spot at the bar) on weekend nights. Service has almost always been very good, too. -

Beer, beer, beer, and beer. Need one say more about a brew pub? Okay. Great food too, staff feels like family. AND BEER!
I've been going to T. Moun. since 2004, gotten to know the staff quite well as well as quite a few of the patrons. This place has a cheers like feeling that even newcomers can sense. They have a mug/vip club where for a fee you can bring in your own mug and keep it there to drink out of. They also allow you to bring in growlers to bring home some of their beer with you. They constantly have beers being circulated in to keep the beer selection fresh and they also serve wine, some of which comes from a local winery. -
