Tuk Tuk is good,
Like the guy said above I wouldn't send people from Manhattan just to eat there but it's a decent local place to get your Thai on.
The best deal there is the lunch special.
You get soup salad and a meal of your choice for under $10.00

I am not going to send every person I know to Long Island City just to go to Tuk Tuk, but if in the neighborhood and feeling an urge of Thai I would go to Tuk Tuk for sure.  It was inexpensive and the food was good.

Menu had plenty of nice options, but went with old faithful since it was a new place for me.  Pad Thai was standard, good flavor and not greasy at all.  I also had a dumpling appetizer with crushed peanuts inside that was very good.  All the food came out quickly and the service was good.

The place is big inside and open.  I would not call on Tuk Tuk for a hot date, but if you want some good, quick Thai in LIC, this is a good choice.

I give the food 2 stars, although the location would be 5 stars for me (it's close to where I live). The food here is mediocre, but it will do if you live in the area and are craving Thai food. Every time I decide to order from or eat here, I end up being a little disappointed afterwards. But they really don't have any competition now, so it works.

Quite tastey and reasonabley priced, if perhaps a little loud (sort of echo-y).  Tried the shrimp summer rolls, duckaholic, penang curry, pad thai, and beef noodle salad.  All the dishes were surprisingly good for a random place in long island city, and when the bill came everyone was happy about the low cost.

Tuk Tuk -- It's good for Long Island City!

There's not much in this area, so this place looks great with no nearby competition. It wouldn't last a day in Manhattan's Chinatown, and it'd be generous to give it a week up against mediocre competitors along Bedford Ave in Williamsburg.  It's affordable, but not Chinatown cheap.

The joint had some big wall canvases of black & white photography. The interior decor was budget-modern and pretty cute. The place was clean. Their service was friendly and my water glass never dipped below half-full. So I'll give 'em a thumbs up for trying.

The failure = thoroughly mediocre food, and a chef who was obviously experimenting before learning the basics.

I ordered chicken satay (which was decent) and a tofu salad which was described as "green salad, crispy tofu, ... with ginger soy or peanut dressing."  I expected the fried or baked tofu skin that is common at thai joints, and vegetables with a light-ish dressing. I got a bowl with some lettuce and other raw veggies ruined with massive blobs of thick yellow mayonnaise and tiny, paper thin squares of tofu that looked like anemic fingernails. (I should know. I was once an anemic nailbiter.) I checked for a cuticle and then bravely ate one. Not crispy. No flavor. The texture was like... well, have you ever run a packet of those breath strips through the washer until they're melted together and somewhat glue-y? Yeah.

Tuk tuk?
Yuk yuk!

Very good Thai food and reasonable prices.   I typically order delivery, which is usually very quick.  Big portions allow my wife and I to share an entree and explore the appetizers.  The Golden Purse is always a favorite, though it can be a little greasy.  Satay and spring rolls are also good choices.  Highly recommend the Chicken Pad Rama.

Tuk Tuk is a great spot -- very inexpensive, plentiful, good food.  Some dishes are a bit greasy, but that's to be expected with Thai.  The atmosphere is fun, and the service is very good.  It's a great option for dining out in this corner of Long Island City.

A great place on a budget.  I usually order the satay chicken, tom yum soup, or their papaya salad.  All of which are tasty, though the food can be rather greasy....

We really enjoyed the food here and yep, it is really as cheap as people claim it is.  So refreshing to find a good place to eat that doesn't break the bank- a rare find in the NY area.
The service was friendly and fast- my water glass was re-filled every 5 minutes (not kidding here).  This is a good thing because the food is SPICY!  We eat Thai several times a month and I am in favor of spice.  We ordered "medium spice" and my mouth was on fire!!  It was a little too hot for me and I am the one who likes spicy food.
The food we ordered was fresh and delish:  Chicken fried rice, Red Curry and Massaman bread starter.
We will certainly go back.

I was beckoned by the 'People Love Us on Yelp' sticker on the door and entered to a pleasing modern yet warm and cute interior. Lunch specials were reasonable $7-9 and the employees were friendly enough. It looked clean and promising. After an order of to-go pad see ew I was reminded that Chinese food isn't the only cuisine plagued by MSG. Tough to judge by one dish but it seems that the lack of Thai competition in the 'hood allows this spot to stay open.

The food is a little greasy and not too flavorful just salty, but my friends who are less familiar with Thai food love eating there.  I'll eat it because I live in the neighborhood.  The decor and presentation is cute.  The staff is friendly.

Ever since I started working in LIC I wanted to stop by Tuk Tuk for dinner. It could be because the place looks really nice through large windows.  It could be because in russian the name coincidentally  means "Knock Knock," which made me wanna, you know, knock knock on their door.  It could because a thai restaurant looks refreshing and new among diners, delis and pubs on Vernon Avenue.
The other night my boyfriend finally dragged my tired over-worked butt in. What a great place.  Fantastic food.  Great prices.  Wonderful service.  I had a charred beef salad (7 bucks well spent!)  My boyfriend had some chicken dish with string beans and rice.  I like that you can adjust the spiciness of your dish upon request, which can simultaneously accommodate my spice-fearing taste buds, and my boyfriend's hot-sauce-on-everything trained stomach. They also serve beer, wine and a variety of hot teas, which adds another star to my rating.

I love the friendly staff  and welcome any local place that delivers in a rain storm. However, it is a shame that all their meat dishes taste frozen and re-cooked or over cooked. If they could improve on that point I would probably be eating at this place every night.

Fantastic Thai place! I take out for lunch often, and eat dinner occasionally. The Honey Wasabi Tuna (seared tuna) is great. The other dinner special are also good, like the Duckaholic and the grilled shrimp. They also have a lot of standard Thai fare, like Pad Thai, Pad Rama, and all sorts of curries. I find this stuff to be great for lunch takeout.

When I had dinner at Tuk Tuk, it was a cold winter night and the place was next to empty (sounds like a rockin time already, right?).  Inside, it was drafty and I had to keep ordering jasmine teas to keep my paws warm.  The food was decent - we ordered the Tuk Tuk Satay (which was the best part of the meal), the Tuk Tuk Tofu (won't make that mistake again) and the Pad Thai (nothing to write home about).  I think we have to go back and try something else.  I think it's still worth checking out again.

Thai Cuisine

I haven't tried alot of the dishes here yet.  I had just eaten some of the food that a friend of mine had ordered for lunch and just wanted to try it out.  Had ordered the Pad Kee-Mao and the Pineapple Fried Rice.  Both were cooked very good and were very flavorful.  I actually enjoyed both dishes.  The noodles were cooked just right and the fried rice was very light and tasty.

I'll have to come back here at another time to see if it can compare to Sripraphai.  But for now, I'd give it a recommendation!

sleek, modern, comfy decor with character.  ikea meets west elmish.  a great spot to hit up for a quiet date or even with your rowdy crew (cuz the place will be all yours to chill in).  attentive service.  wonderfully priced dishes.  now the menu-- when it says spicy, they mean SPIIICYYYY!  so, beware.  i grew balls eating the thai basil chicken (Pad Gra Prao).

ew sorry, that sounds gross.

but nonetheless, this restaurants the bomb!
