A group of hungover, hungry Brits is not the easiest thing to remedy at the best of times, however this place gets a total of seven out of seven thumbs up. We stopped here for post July 4 celebrations- Sunday brunch after not being able to find the five star rated Meyers.

The food was great - awesome burgers, fish and chips and ribs. The portions were generous and worth the wait. We sat outside but the inside looked equally inviting, the upstairs looked like an ideal spot for a birthday gathering or private celebration. Last positive points go to the service which was friendly, personal and entertaining - Stan met the mark for delivering a quality pub experience and met our request to change the music from gansta rap to charleston with gusto and enthusiasm.

Great place for brunch/lunch with family or friends especially on a sunny chilled out day.

Went in for lunch and a few drinks. We ordered the tapas and everything we had was amazing. The lamb with the rosemary cream sauce was out of this world. We also had the crab fritters, tai shrimp, filet on a stick and mac and cheese were all equally as good. The bartender was very helpful in recommending because the menu is so large. We were able to try several of the 17 beers they had on draft. I would highly recommend the Pub, can't wait to try the steak and lobster we saw on the menu in the Dory's Oar our next trip.

Well, while I like the atmosphere, the food could be better. A few times the fish and chips were good, but other times not. So, inconsistency seems to be the problem. Service is slow.

Based on our experience in late February '09, the negative reviews seem a bit off. I'd say 3-4 stars is about right.

Tudor's downstairs restaurant looked nice. The waitstaff was very accommodating, and comped some appetizers and gave us an overall discount when service was delayed due to a 50-person banquet upstairs that arrived a half hour early.

The happy hour tapas (4 for $13) was a complete bargain, and enough food for two. Or at least 1.5--we were all hungry, but had plenty left over. I'd suggest avoiding the "spicy" items even though I love spicy food. They just weren't as good as other tapas on the menu.

The Friday night guitarist up front by the bar was good and not overly loud. The beer was great. No complaints.

My kids had a bacon cheeseburger that was excellent and about the size of a Mini Cooper's tire. If you're not in the Tapas mood, try sharing the burger between two people.

I guess we were there on a good night?

The burger was GREAT. I had the NorCal - pesto, caramelized onions, goat cheese, and a spicy sambal. I was very impressed. The side salad was above and beyond your typical side salad as well. The 3 other burgers at my table all impressed as well. I didn't taste, but visually.

Server/bartender was very accommodating.

Great Pub Food!  If you want a place where you can order small plates/tapas and share with yiour friends and have a couple of beers, I highly recommend this comfortbale place.  Our waitress was great and attentive and even thogh we kept adding to our order, she kept up with the changes and additions without a problem.  We ordered a wide variety of small plates and didn't get a bad one!

We came on a Friday night. It did not seem very busy in the downstairs Fremont Bistro, however, as soon as we sat down the waitresses told us we were going to have to wait 30-45 min for dinner because the kitchen was backed up. They did not offer us anything reason to stay. Poor service, staff lack the knowledge to be personable and keep people. We were willing to stay and wait, have a beer or something. But it felt more like they were trying to get rid of us.

We tried again the next day thinking it'll be better. This time the place was dead. For such a fancy looking place, you'd think it would attract more people. We decided to try their tapas menu. All the descriptions sound great. So we ordered sauteed mushrooms, fried pork, and fish and chips.

It was all bad and weird. The mushrooms were button mushrooms. For such a fancy description and price, you think you'd get at least shitake or something nicer than button mushroom. The fried pork description sounded great, but it was covered with buffalo wing sauce, and the tortilla was more like crab ragoon. Fish and chips were ok, but they used sea bass which I thought would taste better than the regular cheap fish they would use for fish and chips, but didn't taste any better. Very weird, did not taste good, and seems cheap.

I don't quite understand the new owner's need to crank the new jukebox up to eardrum-shattering level when there was only 2 people in the bar.  All this did was ensure that we left immediately, since there was no way to hold a conversation.  Wonder if that's why nobody else was there on a Thursday evening?

Not sure, how to rate this place.  Sure sounds like maybe they changed ownership?  I'm reading reviews of  wilted lettuce and canned artichokes???  eww!  Maybe the executive chef was sick and they had a fill-in?  Wow, enter this place with caution.  The Tudor English Pub from a year ago would NEVER had let that stuff out of the kitchen.  It was top notched and I'm a picky foodie!  So, enter with caution.  Too bad.  It was the best secret in town.

Dear asshole bartender,

I did not tip you on purpose.  I did not tip you because you ignored me for five minutes while I tried to order your crappy food.  I did not tip you because you proceeded to argue with me over whether or not I could order a half salad when it said, on the menu, clearly that I could.  I did not tip you because it doesn't make it okay to not know the menu just because they "change it ever week."  They change it every week because the establishment sucks.  I did not tip you because you carried my plate up with your grubby hands and the lettuce was old, wilted and red around the edges and I was annoyed to pay $5.50 for something with old lettuce and canned artichoke hearts.  So, when you brought me my 13 cents as if to make a point, it was clear that you didn't get mine.  I don't have steez and your place sucks.

Tudor pub: I feel like dessert, I think I'll have... a chocolate stout. My parents actually rave about this pub often, and the chocolate stout they have on tap, so I gave it a try. I managed to show up on open mic night where an excellent band was playing (country). I didn't stay that long, but a couple of British guys were setting up, who knows what they were going to play. Anyway it's a really cute pub with random and delicious beers on tap like Old Rasputin's. The bartender was British or at least had a really convincing fake accent, which always gets my bucks.

We went to the Tudor after the new owner took over in Jan. The upstairs is all redone, it's back to a great place . The tapas and the rest of the food were great. The menu goes on forever and its good!!

I went in at around midnight on a Wednesday, mostly because I heard some really good dancehall reggae pumping out of the windows.  Good space - good selection of decent beer.  I'd love to check it out on a weekend.

I agree with Micah R's review times 10! Except for his last comment about the food being over cooked...I wouldn't know, the service was so inattentive that my friends and I NEVER ATE!  We flagged down the waitress 3 times in our 1 HOUR long wait to ask about our food and she was super rude and gave us a quick 'it'll be a couple minutes' everytime.  She asked if we wanted more beers in the meantime and we ordered another round to stave off our appetites a little, but she never even showed up with the beers. I've never been so angry that I've walked out of a restaurant before, but I guess there's really a first time for everything. We put down money for our beers and left.  Don't go here unless you have a lot of patience, are not hungry, and have a lot of time to waste.

The lower half of the Tudor English Pub is now Fremont Bristro.  The restaurant used to be named Dory's Oar, fabulous food and service.  Under the new name and ownership, I will not longer recommend the restaurant.  The service was inattentive for such a small place.  The space is too small for the large furniture.  The pub upstairs is rather noisy, it does not cater to the quiet romantic type of time.  The food was over cooked.
