If zero stars was allowed.....I don't even know where to start here. The daycare is disgusting just beginning there, like a good vacuum and floor stripping would do this place a lot of justice. I enrolled my son here as a last ditch effort because there was no spaces in other centers in the area. Huge mistake. The front staff here seemed friendly but I think it was a facade. The infant room, where my 10 month old was enrolled has a bunch of young girls in there who have NO idea how to take care of children. Dropping our son off my fiancé witnessed one of the staff members sighing loudly and basically saying "what do you want" to a child. A CHILD, who obviously cannot help themselves and is under your care? Really. They fabricated information on my sons daily sheet saying he was fed and changed at certain times and it was all a lie. My son came home with the same diaper he had on when I dropped him off, I know this because it was a special diaper he had on with markings. When that was brought to the front staffs attention they didn't care, one person who is not even the director the "curriculum specialist" was the only person I spoke with. The director, Nikki, didn't even have the common decency to investigate or even call me to let me know what was said to her staff about it. My son would come home extremely dehydrated from them either not feeding him or not giving him his water. I can't believe I have to even write this review and I am completely disgusted with this center as a whole. If you love and care about your child, please do not send them here.. send them somewhere they will be cared for and not neglected. I won't stop advocating for my child until the proper solution is achieved. I have been in contact with The Virginia Department of Social Services with this matter as well.

This place has been a godsend for our family. After two other centers and many issues, it was surpising to find somewhere so great so close by. Great Department of Social Services inspection records, strong, long-term management and many teachers there for the long haul. Healthy, on-site cooked meals. The amount of exercise the children get (especially in summer) is great, with their own pool and on-site PE instruction both indoor and outdoor. Age-appropriate curriciulum and activites, very good team of staff working together, nice facilities and huge, safe playground and many activities. Way to go Heather and team! And, we are paying less than before!

Tuckaway Harbor is a wonderful, safe place for your child. Our son (now 4yrs old) has been attending Tuckaway since last summer.
I write this review because I feel it is important to acknowledge when someone is doing an outstanding job! We have had less than exemplary daycare from a couple of other centers in the area and were a little apprehensive about placing our son anywhere else. I am a very protective mother of a wonderful little boy.
However, it was one of the best decisions we've made for him and his daily care. He loves his teachers, has made wonderful friends and looks forward to going to 'school' every day. He enjoyed the summer program where they provide no cost swimming lessons and is looking forward to this summer session.
I am extremely excited about their new Private Kindergarten program beginning Fall '12. If you want a caring environment that nurtures your child's development, then consider Tuckaway Harbor.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
