tsing tao is my go to for delicious delivery chinese on those nights i just want to lounge in my pajamas, watch bad tv, and not cook.  i've tried quite a few delivery chinese places and this one is pretty awesome. plus, they have dim sum. delivery dim sum is something dreams are made of! and it's actually pretty good.

their veggies are fresh which i appreciate. no msg. and they get it to you in a crazy quick fashion. i swear they cook it on the way over.

my faves so far are the dragon beef and shrimp dumplings.

The food is tasty! It doesn't have that addictive flavor kick because it's MSG free!
Ordered: Hot & Sour soup, sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli, and BBQ pork chow mein.

    Not greasy and very tasty!

Ordered it by phone and the delivery showed up in 18 minutes.

My new favorite Chinese food place for fast delivery!

Great for take-out. Delivery is fast and well packaged for maximum heat insulation!

Yummy Chinese food that uses REAL ingredients... everything is made from scratch and made with care. I can tell this comes from a good quality kitchen.

This is a good place to order from if you are vegetarian. The Kung Pao Tofu was a big delicious portion of nicely cubed tofu, zucchini, and bell peppers and whole roasted peanuts in a pleasantly spicy sauce. All of the pieces were bite sized and that is a big plus in my book.

Vegetarian hot and sour soup was extremely satisfying ~ warming and flavorful ~ with plenty of bamboo shoots, pea shoots, tofu, and egg.

This place is awesome and delicious.  And they deliver!
The sweet and sour chicken is my favorite, but the orange chicken is good, and another one, but I forget.  The servings are large, but don't forget to order rice...it doesn't come with the dinners, but it does come with the lunch specials!

We were at the Palace of the Legion of Honor museum and balked at paying $12 for a sandwich so we went for a walk over to Clement Street and this was the first place we found. I had eaten here before back in 1986 so I remembered it, and I had eaten more recently at the one on West Portal.

They offer their lunch specials seven days a week which is unusual for a Chinese restaurant. I had the eggplant and the spousal unit had bitter melon with shrimp. It was around $12 total for the two of us. The food was fine, but the hot and sour soup was extremely salty.

Four stars for decent food at a very good price.

Came to order their lunch special salt and pepper pork chops over rice I would say it was a bit salty and did not go well with rice and should of got something with sauce to go with rice. I would give Tsing Tao another try since the food is not that bad and it comes fast.

I ordered from here on Saturday night after coming down with the flu and needing some soup. I read the Yelp reviews and ordered from here off Grub Hub on my iPhone.
Delivery was fast and the food was hot. The hot and sour soup is amazing!!! I also ordered the pot stickers steamed and the Chicken and Broccoli. Not a fan of the way they prepare their chicken & broccoli. However, overall, I like this place. I will try it again.

Eating broccoli beef and hot & sour soup on a foggy day at this place--nothing screams Richmond district of SF like this for me at least.

I have been going here since I was a lil boy, and I FRICKIN LOVE IT!

I've been in college for the past few years and every time I come back I try to make it out here to have some of this delicious authentic Chinese food cuz there's really nothing like it!

    The food comes out FASSSSSST

    My FAVORITES:

Broccoli beef (the standard go to entree)
    Walnut prawns (SOOOO GOOD!!)
Hot and sour soup (the best i've ever had)
    Dragon beef
Chicken with mixed vegetables (ask for it spicy)
    Chicken and broccoli
    Mongolian beef

If you go for lunch its suuuper cheap-- like $4.75 for a cup of hot & sour soup, rice, and a main entree. But I love this food so much I usually want to get a dinner entree and save it for later.

They also have lil COUPONS at the front of the restaurant (on the paper menus) that will give you like a free 2 liter of coke, free rice, or something similar if you buy $25 worth of food. These are usually best when going with a group of 3+ for dinner (or take out).

This restaurant is family owned and the employees are all super nice and friendly.

The restaurant itself is not fancy, its a typical Chinese-decorated smaller area.

You will not be sorry if you go here. They have consistently been cooking mouth-watering Chinese food for me for almost 20 years!

This place is a quick, pleasant walk from the Legion of Honor and Land's End Trail.  It doesn't look like much, but the food is DELICIOUS and the service is so fast your head will spin.

Looking for an inexpensive lunch in the Sunset or Richmond, my brother-in-law and I quickly realized that it was still a little too early. Most of the places were still very much closed so we drove all around to try to track an open restaurant down. We finally stumbled on Tsing Tao and walked in right as they opened so we were good to go.

I ordered the salt and pepper pork chops and he got a fried beef dish. The beef was ok if not too sweet but the pork wasn't very appetizing. In fact, I found that it was mostly fried bone and little else. I wouldn't order it again.

Overall this was a disappointing lunch experience. The food was sloppy and careless, and service wasn't that welcoming. There are much better options in the neighborhood if you wait to eat a little later though, which is exactly what I'm doing next time.

Living in the Presidio, some nights you just need something that'll be delivered right to your door.

Ordered delivery from this place for the first time. Promp service, about 35 min delivery time.

Ordered sushi Rainbow row (CA roll + salmon on top), spicy tuna roll, and an edamame for 16.75 total at my doorstep with tip= 20 bucks.

Portions were big and flavor freshness was really great for the money. i.e. much better than airport sushi but a slight step below the best sushi you've had. (at probably 30 dollars more).

They also have Chinese food and there is no charge for delivery.

Let me start by saying I've been coming to this restaurant for YEARS (10+). I have family close by and this has been our go-to place for lunch and dinner for so long it just feels natural to come here.

The service is good and they are never too busy. They get to know their local repeat costumers which is nice. Also, the restaurant is old but they keep it clean which is so important. The food is good and they don't use any MSG like many small Chinese restaurants. I've tried many, many items on the menu and all of them are flavorful and not too greasy. Sure, it isn't gourmet, but this is what typical west coast Chinese food should taste like.

Thanks Tsing Tao for being around as long as you have!

    ordered hassle-free at http://eat24hours.com.

Inexpensive. Walnut shrimp + fried rice + Mongolian beef = $27

ninja-quick delivery, arrived in 26 minutes when quoted 45-60 minutes.

Food was fresh, and not greasy.

Flavor profile was on the lower end of the spectrum, it lacks that flavor punch that 99% of all chinese restaurants have.

The food is normal take out. Nothing to write home about, all the favorites.

Their online ordering system is crap. We ordered online and tried to pay via pay pal - first of all, that's dumb. We should just be able to put our number directly in there. So then the pay pal thing got all confused, but it went through and we got a message saying they'd call us to confirm. We waited for ages and then decided to call THEM. They weren't able to find our order and had to start all over again via phone, thus defeating the whole online service.

If your food is standard you'd better step up the service to give yourself something special..

ETA: Yikes, it's been 50 minutes since we called in by phone and still no food. Add that to the online b.s. and we've been waiting over an hour. Going down to two stars for this, and it looks like you've just lost yourself a customer..

Exclusively order online from this restaurant.  Every time the order comes very quickly (usually 30 minutes) and everything has been very consistent.

Hot and sour soup is great, favorites are crab cheese puffs, combo chow mein, corn soup.  I probably order this at least once a week, and the service is always superb.  Lunch specials are great as well, just not on Sundays.

The funny thing is, I just realized that I recently ordered from the Fillmore location of Tsing Tao which has lower ratings but tasted way better!

My roommate and I ordered online from Tsing Tao over the weekend. I was happy that it arrived in 40 minutes when the site said an hour. Unfortunately, we realized that part of our order was wrong (ordered and paid for beef and mushrooms, got chicken) and it just wasn't very good. The sizzling rice soup was plain and had chunks of ham which weren't listed in the description. The hot appetizer plate was entirely deep fried so I wouldn't recommend it. The chow mein was decent though.

But overall, wouldn't try it again and wouldn't recommend it.

Healthy Chinese food that's authentic?  YES, PLEASE!  There's no MSG or greasy oil spills here.  Their lunch specials are delicious, quickly prepared & cheap.  It's also nice that you're able to upgrade to brown rice, brown fried rice, etc.

Try their Spicy Garlic Eggplant!  I hate veggies, but can eat this EVERYDAY!

I think we've been ordering the takeout from here for about 10 years. Lately we've been using the Tsing Tao speed dial about 1-2x a week for the last year. If we don't have their leftovers in our fridge we are ordering from them in the next day or two.

We are really happy with their quality and taste. I think since we order from them so much we really only order the same things every time. First we have to have their crispy breaded fried white meat chicken breast with sweet lemon sauce, bbq pork chow mein is also a staple along with beef and broccoli. We are not big on the spicy stuff on the menu so can't vouch for all of that. Oh and the crispy fried wonton pork wrappers - mmm.

One thing to be said though, once I hang up from placing my order I swear they have a mobile kitchen that starts heading over. I literally got my food within 10 minutes one time, but always by 20 minutes so it's never cold and always fast.

We'll be eating their food many more times and appreciate living so near a delicious Chinese takeout place.

Went here last night and must say it is among the best Chinese I have had anywhere.

Hot and sour soup was fantastic and not too starchy like many places.
Chicken potstickers were tender and great
Steamed whole flounder with ginger and onions was so good I asked for the recipe
Szechuan prawns were tangy and subtly spiced

Truly a great find. I shall return.

I came here for the first time about 20 years ago and it was mediocre.

Now it is so much better!! I have to give them credit for improving the menu.

I avoid a lot of salty flavors so this place really works for me. Their ingredients are fresh and the vegetables are always cooked just the way I like them - perfectly crispy - not overcooked or undercooked.   Some items are better than others, but overall I am always very happy with Tsing Tao!

Allows you to order their super cheap lunch deals for takeout. Gives you more chicken and broccoli than other places will give you for dinner. Complements with enough rice to feed someone in need down the street. Adheres to requests for light on the oil (unless that's how they always do things).

    Summation: Better than most.

Nothing fancy, but I still have fond memories of high school when my friends and I would drive here during lunch to each get a box of beef chow mein to go.  Those were the days.

Anyway, was in the area feeling nostalgic and needed a quick lunch (didn't feel like fast food) so I popped in and ordered some beef chow mein to go.  Was surprised to see it come in a large, flat environmentally correct container.  A big difference from the traditional asian take-out boxes from the olden days (which still exist elsewhere).  The chow mein was hot and good, although a little bland.  Some soy sauce kicked it up a notch and the generous portion was more than enough.

Noticed they have some really inexpensive lunch specials...will have to come back and try some of their other offerings sometime.

The dragon beef was MEH. I was not expecting it to be breaded so maybe that's my fault for not reading the menu carefully. If you order it, definitely get a couple other items as you will get sick of eating the beef QUICKLY.... You get a whole box of that beef that could feed an entire country. I ended up throwing away the leftovers after a week of not eating it again. I also ordered the crab rangoons which were really oily - also too much breading and too little imitation crab.

I have had much better and only came here out of desperation of starving myself! Contrary to belief, this place was not cheap and I probably spent almost $20.

Been eating here for a couple of decades now. Another fantastic local restaurant....as far as I know, this restaurant and Pacific Cafe have basically outlived EVERY business within a 5 block radius in the Richmond.

Delivery... I believe they stole a functional transporter from the set of Star Trek. Lunch specials... hard to beat the value. Favorites... Hot-braised chicken wings from my childhood and more recently, the shanghai style spaghetti.

Like many of the local staples in the Richmond or any other Neighborhood for that matter. Its great if you live in the hood and don't want to travel far for a meal. If your looking for an "I'll travel the ends of the Earth to eat there" place.... Tsing Tao isn't for you. Go to one of there three other locations instead.

I think I just found my go-to Chinese take-out joint!

I was recommended by my roommate to try this place and ordered delivery via http://eat24hours.com. The website said delivery time was about 45-60 minutes; I live about 10 minutes away and retrieved my order in the estimated range of time, maybe even less.

I ordered the Dragon Beef and Chicken Chow Mein. With a vitamin water and tip, it was only about $18! That in itself is pretty cheap, not to mention that the serving size is HUGE. They literally stacked the chow mein to the very rim of the take-out box! The beef and chow mein could easily feed 2-3 people. The Dragon Beef was perfectly spicy and wasn't overly covered in sauce, and the chow mein was delicious and not greasy at all. Definitely no need to add any extra soy sauce.

I will surely order here again :)

I cannot give 5 stars to this place, even though I love their food.  Here are a few reasons why:

    1)  Be warned:  Their bathroom floors are so f-ing slippery!  I swear to you to use caution when going in and out.  I'd be shocked if they didn't have many complaints on this.

    2)  Like nearly all Chinese restaurants in San Francisco, they have a $10 minimum for credit card purchases.

    3)  Like nearly all Chinese restaurants in San Francisco, their waiters, waitresses, and delivery people don't keep their tips.  I saw this one guy in there doing a pick-up order.  He didn't have to tip, but he did, and the waitress just put the tip money in the register without a 2nd thought.

    4)  Like nearly all Chinese restaurants in San Francisco, they round up your total to the nearest whole cent total.  There are no $10.37 purchases; they'll round up to $10.40.  There are no $27.98 purchases; they'll round up to $28.00.

Their food is really good.  I strongly recommend their soups (hot n sour and seaweed, especially), any eggplant dish, and their appetizers.  They also have decent egg foo young, something that is hard to find in the city.  Their kung pao dishes are good, too.  They have kung pao shrimp, chicken, tofu, and beef.

They have lunch specials until about 5:00 pm.  They also do online orders, but for some reason, that is set so your minimum purchase needs to be $15, where if you call, it's only $10.

    Super-fast delivery!

    They have brown rice.

    Parking isn't bad.

Restaurant isn't pretty but not the worst I've been in.

    They're open until 10:00 pm.

Vegan and Vegetarian friendly! When I ordered a Tofu dish the lady on the phone informed me that the hot and sour soup usually had a meat base an offered to make it Vegi. She even checked whether egg was OK.

It was inexpensive, quality ingredients, double boxed so it didn't leak all over. It could have been spicier, the green beans were a little bland. But I'd totally go there again.

I've never actually been here, but I order delivery from them anytime I am craving Chinese food.  To Chinese food aficionados, this place certainly doesn't qualify as gourmet or even super special...but for what it is, it's pretty fantastic!

What I love to get there:

    - Crab meat puffs (artificial crabmeat, a crab rangoon-type thing, but sooo good!!)

    - Shrimp with walnuts (very tasty, not too much of the mayonaisy sauce!)

    - Shrimp with lobster sauce (they don't scrimp on the shrimp!)

    - Mu-shu chicken (really tasty!)

ALLERGY ALERT: If you have allergies, you simply tell them not to put something into your food, and they don't.  Anyone who has food allergies knows how hard it can be to get a restaurant to honor those types of requests, especially for delivery!

They deliver quickly, the food is inexpensive, the delivery boys are always really nice and polite (how often can you say that!), and if you order over a certain amount, you get free fried rice or chow mein...what's not to like?!

    Onion city.

    And I hate onions.

    Parking sucks too.

Stay away, unless you live to eat onions in every f!cking dish you order!  Gee, I have an idea for you:  order some liver too.

I went here a few times during high school and have also ordered out recently several times as well. All in all, the food was good--I mostly chose it because they delivered, and, well, I'm lazy.

However, last time my food had a hair in it. And not the kind that grows on your head. Needless to say, I'm done with this place. There are plenty of Chinese restaurants that will take enough care not to let their pubes fall where they may.

That's what I get from ordering from a place that was too cheap to pay for their advertising. If they go back on paying for a service with no legitimate reason, then they clearly have no qualms about cutting corners in other areas too.

And just cause the place has been around for a while, doesn't mean it's quality. You know what else refuses to die? Cockroaches.

Let me just start off by saying their hot and sour soup is like crack! Keeps you comin back!!! Ive been going here since freshman year of HS for their affordable and delicious lunch specials and even now over 10 years later I keep comin back for lunch and dinner. Whether its to go or eat in their food is always fresh and hot and most of all delicious. Its a clean establishment the staff is mostly friendly and their prices are cheap!!!

For lunch you get your choice of meat/seafood over rice or chow mein with a small bowl of hot and sour soup... add drinks and you are still under $20 for 2 people.

For dinner you can order seperate dishes a la carte. Ate here the other day with 3 others for dinner and it only cost us around 60 dollars!

P.S. f you have left overs they are still very good the next day!
