I was going through it, for more reasons than just 1. Needless to say, I needed a change, and when I feel like that, I usually go for the hair. I had highlights from my regular salon in the Bay a few months back, but given that I was nowhere near there, I hopped on Yelp (my go-to for everything de-lish) and found Trust. I called in the morning (secretly hoped for a same day appointment) and made an appointment for the following day (still within reason) in the early evening. Little did I know who I spoke to or who I made an appointment with (I was still discombobulated at this point from my "transitional phase" of Life) but I ended up speaking to, and making an appointment with, Haywood.
I did a little more research to see who this "Haywood" was, and realized that he was THE owner and founder of the shop. Oh wow! I got a little more excited, just based on that knowledge since owners usually don't take new and foreign clients.
So I walked into the shop the following day at 545pm (my appointment was at 6pm) and met my hair magician for the evening. He was in the middle of cutting a gentleman's hair (given I was the early one) and patiently waited while flipping through the variety of magazines they have available.
I knew I wanted to go back to one shade... dark, maybe even black and of course a trim, to get rid of the dead ends that are a result from the constant processing that I put my hair through. Haywood said NAY to the black but agreed with going darker since the summer season was transitioning to autumn. So I plopped into my chair after undressing from my clothes and suiting on a cape that was secure for most of the way so that my "goods" weren't exposed all over the salon. They have super awesome massage chairs for when they wash and rinse your hair, that you may just want to sprawl out and get comfortable!
I was instantly happy with my hair color and cut... and loved it even more as Haywood dried and styled it (I love it when my scalp and hair are massaged and pulled and twisted and curled). My hair felt so shiny and brand new...
I walked out of there 2.5 hours later a happy Yelper! I love my hair... it 's the perfect shade of chocolate brown and I still have the length that I love with the "uummppphhhh" that my hair needed to revive itself back to life. And it only cost $195 (plus a nice healthy tip).
And for my dry ends (they just never go away) I treat them with the Brazilian moisturizer cream that Haywood recommend I use. It's been working wonders and it's only been 3 weeks.
Thank you again Haywood, honey, and Trust Salon! You will be seeing me again soon...
I called up the salon after finding them on yelp. I spoke with Bianca and explained my issues. Namely that i've killed my hair! Lots of heat, chemicles, color .. you name it and I fried my hair with it.
She said for me to come by that night after work and I came in for my consultation. She and Haywood were so helpful. She was the one who did my services but Haywood offered sage advice that helped me decide to get a major cut.
It turned out great and I'm happy to have my healthy hair back. AND a real style NOT a helmet but a nice shape!!!
I have to concur with all of the other 5-star ratings.
After a trip to a salon eight months ago in which I went in with long hair and came out with short (gasp!), I was traumatized. I spent the last eight months pretending I didn't need to dye or cut my hair. And it was lookin shib shaaaabby instead of fab fabby for sure.
I consulted my local yelp oracle and read the reviews of Trust salon. I thought, "Hm, Trust, now that's a good name for a salon!" Without that, what do you have? A depression cocoon of roots and split ends.
Sooooo, I booked a consult with Biance Speciale. First of all, she took so much time during the consult. I brought in pictures. I had ideas. If I could have borrowed CNN's ginormous plasma screen for visuals, I would have. I was never going to have salon communication breakdown again! After meeting with her, I took a deep breath and booked the appointment for the following week.
Let me just say that I almost canceled my appointment due to, I don't know, aftershocks of my last experience--I was lockshocked or something. But I had to face my fear. I brought my supersis in for moral support.
During my actual appointment, Bianca spent even more time planning what she was gonna do and talking me through it. She could tell I had PTSS: Post Traumatic Salon Syndrome. I gripped the sides like it was the electric chair. I needed much explanation and assurance about every little thing she did. I was a total pain in the ass! I was that customer nobody wants! If I'd had me, I would have been like, "Oh, honey, now who has a degree in this? ME. So...yeah, Shush!" Despite how annoying I must have been, Bianca was nothing but patient, sympathetic, unflappably calm, professional, and confident in the job.
True, halfway through I found out she was not just a virgo but that we share the same birthday, which gave me a serenity I can only describe as astrological. What are the chances? Astronomical. Exactly. Still, attention to detail and perfectionism are EXACTLY what you want in your stylist! Someone who will wake up twitching if she doesn't get it RIGHT! She even told me that she'd been thinking about how to go about cutting my bangs, etc. during the past week--you know during that time she *doesn't* get paid for?! Awesome.
In any event, Bianca rocked it. I'm loving my locks, and I'm feeling sassy again.
Need some hair therapy? Sit in Bianca's chair--she'll make it all better!
Thank you, Bianca! You are the Hair Whisperer!

Yay, I got to visit my favorite stylist, Paul at his new salon, Trust! I have followed Paul to every salon he's worked at for the last 11 years. He is amazing! Perfect color and cut as usual. Could not have asked for more. The salon is very nice and staff was friendly.
As I said in my review of his Salon in Denver, Paul is the absolute best colorist/stylist ever! I have naturally curly hair which is a pain to deal with, but it's not an issue with Paul. He is well trained in dealing with all hair types. He can give you a blow out that will last and last and never go frizzy. It's the straightest my hair has ever been and he does it all with just a hair dryer and round brush. No damaging straighten iron needed. He will also show you what he's doing to your hair so that when you get home you will be able to recreate it. He always picks colors that compliment your skin tone, and applies flawless highlights as well as all-over color.
Paul did my sister's hair a few weeks earlier and Holly did her make up. She looked absolutely gorgeous! Everyone should go to Trust as soon as you can! You leave very happy.
I was ecstatic when Paul Loya my stylist of 12 years moved to LA and started at Trust! OMG I've been in CA for 6 years and have been flying back to Denver to see him all this time, now he's so close by YAY! Paul is as good as it gets :D I have NEVER once had a bad style or color by him and have always received so many compliments on my hair. THANK YOU PAUL! I've even brought him clients from all over the bay area and San Diego.
I was excited to see the new salon he chose and to my delight everyone was absolutely fabulous! I haven't had so much fun getting my hair and makeup done in so long. Paul and Holly made me feel so comfortable and beautiful!!!! Haywood and his crew have earned some serious stars in my book:)
Seriously after I was done and wondering bar to bar in LA, I looked so put together others assumed I was famous. I had random people asking if they could take pictures with me. WOW I cannot compliment them enough. They made me feel so beautiful and it was FUN. If you ever get a chance please have your hair and makeup done here. They are the epitome of a "beauty" salon! :D
Pretty much LOVING. I started visiting Trust because of JILL - the all-time best stylist in the history of stylists. I can't say enough great things about her. I have very thick, naturally curly hair and she whips it back into shape everytime I see her. Speaking of which...I need to schedule an appointment stat.
Great ambience, very clean, very chill - did I mention clean? All the other stylists were courteous and friendly and VERY knowledgeable.
I'm so NOT surprised that this place has 5 stars from every reviewer. Was far and away the best haircut experience of my career (which spans 3 decades.) I was hungover, had a photo shoot, a date, and a job interview to prepare for. I went to see BIANCA because my girlfriends evangelized about how great she was. Did their hair/makeup for big weddings, etc.
Not only is Bianca the sweetest, I got a nice scalp rub while the massage chair by the sink/basin worked the drunksleep kinks out of my back. Then they poured me a lovely cup of coffee, and I got an amazing haircut. Bianca had me looking 'rocked out' for my shoot, 'hot 'for my date, and 'professional' at my interview.
Oh, and her Prince mix was playing for most of the time I was there, which was fantastic. This is the place.
Rosevelt cut my hair here and I was very thrilled.
A bit nervous when a shirtless man skateboarded up with nipple rings and started talking to a dog who walked by on the street... and a man inside the salon said, "oh, here's Rosevelt... he'll do you."
But I was pleasantly surprised.
And I so needed someone new.
And it's so hard to find someone new these days.
"Trust!!"
Thats what Haywood always says and I can say very confidently "Yes you can!"
He is the owner of the salon in WeHo and the only hands I" trust" touching my locks. He has an excellent memory for remembering what I want, yet always asks if I want to change up my color since I like to experiment every so often. I've been going to him for about 4 years now. I always feel like a new woman when I leave and get constant compliments on the beautiful color he gives me. One time I wanted to try a new shade and it came out totally off looking (in part to the mistake I made a few months before going light blond and my hair being fried!)so he spent the time reworking it and made the color look gorgeous. He even offered to touch it up if I needed it in a few weeks if it didn't take free of charge.
Prices are totally reasonable but this is definitely no Fantastic Sams and for good reasons! But you don't have to worry too about not making rent because your cut and color cost you $500
Also if you are in the need for a new candle, salon hair care products, some cute undies, or a new necklace he has all that up front in the boutique part of the shop.
Parking is a cinch in the Pavilions Market lot and always a good thing because I am usually rushing over to make my appointments!
*Update*
The new shop is across the street from the old location at the Pavillions. So don't worry he isn't gone my friends!! Let me just say too the massage shampoo chair is very nice! ;)
TRUST ME! I love this place. Bianca is the best. They have thought of everything, massage wash bowls, great lighting, great music and ambiance.
I'm new to the area and so I wanted a local salon without the typical Bev Hills hype. So seeing the glorious reviews, i decided to try them out. I saw how Paul had a loyal following so I called and he was able to squeeze me right away even though they had a an event planned at the salon for the evening... Results, I love my hair.. It looks awesome and i am so excited to show it off. Thank you Paul for squeezing me in and for my great hair. It's great to know that I didn't have to pass through any bad hair experiences before I found a great local stylist.
