This little boutique is fantastic. If you buy something here, you're almost guaranteed no one else has it. That's because Trunk sells handmade clothing from local (CA) designers, as well as their own handmade goods that come from their own crew.
Their vibe is kind of steampunk/burning man chick meets up and has coffee with her free spirited/sexy/creative girlfriend. I love just about everything here. My boyfriend bought me some armwarmers for xmas and they're great.
Not cheap, and it shouldn't be. You can find womens clothing and accessories as well as a few dude items. Gorgeous dresses. Dazzling hair thingies.

Lovely unique clothing crafted with time and care.
Trunk captures San Francisco's creative sense of fashion well.
They carry well tailored jackets made from fleece, flow-y feather earrings, colorful scarves, and a plethora of local designers - who manage to merge fashion and free-spirit in a truly enlightening fusion of the two.
Trunk is well worth checking out on a regular basis. Their selection isn't cheap - but it is different, well-made, and most importantly locally made. Come and support innovative designers who understand comfort, beauty, and fit.

So I just brought a cute cropped, cow-neck shirt and a sweater from here and I love them!!! :-) The store is really "funky" and I can't wait to go back home, Chi-Town, over X-mas break and tell everyone: "you ain't got these!"
The owner was really nice too. I think it's really cool that all of the clothes are made buy designers from the Bay area. :-)
Downside: I'm a broke college student and from now on, I'll probably have to buy other items one at a time. $30-$50 for an item adds up, when you start purchasing over three. :-) -

I wandered into Trunk last night before meeting friends for drinks down the block. After an absolutely horrid week, I needed some retail therapy, damn it!
My immediate impression of the store was "young, young, young". I'm a middle-aged mommy wholly unsuited to any of the fun and frisky fashions on the racks, not that I couldn't appreciate their appeal. But jewelry? Well, jewelry knows no size! I leisurely took in all the charming, one-of-a-kind necklaces and earrings, liking everything I saw but waiting for the A-HA! moment. Then I saw them. Dangling sterling silver leaf earrings, by artist Rachel Jordana. They simply HAD to be mine.
I wore them out of the store, spirits lightened and the week's stresses forgotten. Thanks, Trunk! -

You know how San Francisco just *loves* its trunk shows? The little gallery-style ones that showcase all kinds of random designers with really awesome one-offs and local talent with unique screen printed goodies made in limited editions? Okay, well imagine that someone grabbed a handful of those same designers and gave them a permanent fixture in the Lower Haight. There you have Pandora's Trunk.
I was mesmerized by all of the fashion going on in here. It's also a working studio, so the designers are doing their thing in the back and out front where the sewing machine sits in the window. I recognized a few names - Miranda Caroligne (author of Reconstructing Clothes for Dummies), Mignonette (who I just saw at a trunk show this past weekend), and 5733 (based in Oakland, see Patrick M's review). The other designers were all new to me - some of them a little too off the wall, but some others I could definitely rock. Not everything is crazy expensive either. The two designers I spoke to while browsing were eager to tell me all about the collective, and about their own upcoming projects. I am looking forward to checking out some of the denim creations from one of the guys - he promises some styles that are made for those of you who have a little junk in the trunk.
If I don't stop shopping soon, I am going to start having to go to a 12-step meeting or something. Seriously. -

Always a trunk show here at Trunk. -

My favorite "I'm fabulous and I know it and nobody else has something quite like this" dress is from here.
As always with places that stock many different designers, there's a wide range of view points and prices. You'll love some stuff and wonder about other things, but regardless of your personal taste, everything in here is 100% creative original.
Plus, they recycle all my used grocery bags! -

I came to the Lower Haight looking for little dresses and tops. At Trunk I found an adorable reconstructed tennis skirt that made me abandon my plan to not buy any more bottoms until I found some rad tops.
I love that most of the clothes at Trunk are hand made by independent designers, that many of the clothes are reconstructed or recycled, and that the prices are sinfully low for one-of-a-kind designer duds. The artists/ designers are also the people who work in the shop, so they can answer lots of questions and are generally much more engaged than your average minimum wage retail slave. -

We have been coming to the bi-monthly Pandora's Trunk shows in SOMA for a couple of years and always had such a great time with the music, the treats, and the fine wares for sale. Now that they have a more permanent home in the Haight, it is a lot of fun to check them out when in the area.
The clothing is very fun and inspirational, tho' some of it looks like Dr. Seuss-wear. It is great, it's just not quite what I could go grocery shopping in...well, actually, in Berkeley, I probably could! This is besides the point....The variety of artists represented here are really worth taking a look at and I love the fact that things are recycled/sustainable/reinterpreted. I have a pair of fingerless gloves from Shannon Riley who made the gloves from the sleeves of an old sweater! Very elegant! Often-chilly-husband has another swell pair of her gloves as well (black, short, and with a red wrist band...they are really good looking!). I have also purchased a couple of hair band things with all sorts of felted embellishments from a small label called http://mediumreality.com and I love them.
This is such a good place to shop for yourself or for a gift and feel great supporting artists. Area is predictably sketchy, lots of panhandlers, etc...but the adventure is worth the trek! -

I love Trunk for many reasons, the top few are well they give me a friendly place to sell my handmade wares, they are a working studio which means you can actually walk in and see garments, jewelry, etc being made. There are so many choices sometimes I can just twirl around in there for hours.
If your looking for something new and special that you will love forever...this is your shop.
Prices are a bit high but hey its SF and its all one of a kind, so you pay for what you get which is a quality unique garment.Listed in: Shopping Shopping and more…

An amazing space full of creativity and talent. It is wonderful to see all these artists come together and present their wears. I have a couple of Onerary 'wearable art' pieces that I love... I had a great time at the opening as well; looking forward to future events..
Anyone interested in art and design should check out this new addition to the Lower Haight! -

Pandora's Trunk is not the best clothing store for men, unless you are looking for some excellent Burning Man gear. So once a year, yeah for sure.
I prefer it for art. They usually have a nice rotation of local artists showcasing their works in the window.Comment from miranda c b. of Trunk 10/27/2009

I haven't bought anything (yet) because when I stopped to browse it was right after the holidays and I was poor! But what an awesome shop!
This is one of those places that is great if you like looking unique!
I love that it's a co-op!
The ties are really cool (they're done with a lazer) and I have had two seperate dreams about these AWSOME wire earrings- which means I should get myself a pair next time I am down that way.
Great place to shop for a gift for both guys and gals!
Patronize this place people- I know I'm gonna! -

This shop is, hands down, my favorite shop in SF! I LOVE it. I can rarely get out of this place without spending a good bit of money. I have also had some of the designers do some custom work for me. I get compliments on the stuff all the time!

My daughter and I shopped Trunk on Black Friday....it turned out to be our best shopping day ever thanks to Trunk.
What amazing style and fashion is hidden in this little jewel of a store. I almost hate to Yelp this because it's such a marvelous secret, but being socially minded, these artists deserve their day in the sun....a truly worthwhile shopping experience....above and beyond all expectations!!! -
Review from Laura f.
I spied Obama candles in the windows, was greeted by leather jewelery, and delighted by the clothing designs.. especially Liron.. "the flow collection" which was women's wear that was gathered and flowy like a mad max Grecian fantasy, which you could wear in many different ways... it was sexy! Each designer's area had their cards and in the back was a bin full of $5 tee shirts! Support your creative community!

D O P E. I drop about 4 bills every quarter. Dunno that I'm going to make it for Q1, but we'll see. Weird to be talking about this in financial terms, but since my depart from Etsy, life has been rough. Love supporting these designers. I love love love this spot.

I stopped in to visit Pandora's Trunk on a Saturday. The space is filled with racks and racks of interesting one-of-a-kind clothing, mostly reconstructed or screen-printed garments, with a generous selection of accessories. There's more art on the walls for sale. The space is about 1/2 gallery, and 1/2 workspace so it has a very comfortable, social air. There are lots of beautiful people working and shopping there, so the eye candy is fun too!

Pandora's Trunk is a really neat addition to the lower Haight. I love that it's a fashion co-op. There's a really neat selection of jewelry, clothing & accessories. Some of the stuff can be a little too Burningman for me, but there's also some designers that seem to be more inspired by vintage wear, and I like that. The staff is pretty open and full of information about their pieces and the shop. It's worth checking out, I think there's something for everyone here. There's a lot of stylish possibilities. Prices are good too. Some stuff is really reasonable, some stuff is a bit more expensive but most of this stuff is one of a kind people!

Ok, so I followed Miranda Caroligne here but found some super other designers to love. Fati Beloved made my wedding dress, Dita made some earrings for me and Gio decked out my man with a sweet shirt. Its all one of a kind, always new and on any given day or time there is an "artist" creating right before you eyes- check it out.

My son asked me to take him shopping at Trunk for his 23rd birthday gift. I live in Marin and had never heard of this shop. What an unexpected treat for clothes lovers and more. The shop is owned by a talented young woman who makes all of her beautiful creations from lovingly used clothing, transforming them into magical one-of-a-kind pieces. If that's not green, it gets better. She brings in pieces of like-minded clothing artists/designers, all talented, many using organic fabrics like hemp, wool, bambool and silk. There's too much to choose from, and something for everyone young, middle-aged etc. Spent a pretty penny, and was happy to do it in support of such talented young people!
