2 reviews for Trumbull Marriott Merritt Parkway
Our Room:
- obvious painting missing from wall
- rusty strange shower hardware
- paint peeling from the ceiling
- super hard bed, that seemed really short and high
Some may argue that none of this mattered since we were way too blitzed from the 7 million hour open bar at the wedding we attended at the Waterview to care...but I still noticed through my blurred vision that there were certain obvious problems with our hotel room.
Other aspects of the hotel were nice tho, including the lovely bar, excellent buffet breakfast, and helpful service...so the 2 stars go to them, which would probably be 2.5 if .5's were allowed. I don't plan on being in Trumbull CT anytime soon, so I'll probably never stay here again...
Stayed here for a week during dec. and the first day we arrived, it snowed. The entire place was covered in a blanket of snow, very cool. This was exciting for us, being from CA. The staff were all very nice and friendly. Our hotel room was okay. Small and during a windy night somehow the furnace vent whistled the entire night. Actually more like howled. When I called for someone to repair it, all they did was stick a heavy blanket over it?? Umm, this didn't do the trick, because the next night of wind, back to howling. After that, our shower knob to turn the water off/on, got stuck. So it continued to flow at full force while filling up the tub, that seemed to stop up! Called the staff again..he was nice and actually fixed the issue, only for it to happen AGAIN the next day. Well, needless to say, we asked to change rooms. Which they did, but after about 2 hrs of us waiting. Oh, and don't even try the restaurant downstairs! Its mucho expensive and my chicken I ordered, still had a few feathers on it. And the roll was lying in my salad dressing. I pretty much lost my appetite after the feathers. All in all, I give 3 stars for the staff, but the rooms/food are mediocre at best. Oh, I would give 5 stars just on outside ambiance of the winter wonderland we got to see!
