I love Trombetta's! We went over Memorial Day weekend and had no problem finding parking or getting time to play a round of mini golf. The course is challenging without being frustrating and is a comfortable temperature and dry even during a passing rain storm.
Where Trombetta's earns its five stars though is its ice cream. Coffee Oreo is all I should have to say, but the Amaretto was equally incredible. The staff was helpful, cheerful and attentive, even when working both the ice cream window and the inside mini golf counter. -

Play mini-golf and then get ice cream. Cheap, fun date. If it's a hot date though, be warned that the mini golf area is literally like a greenhouse and it is SWELTERING hot in there.

Let's count the ways that Trombetta's Rocks:
1) Nursery with tons of beautiful plants
2) Landscape supplies
3) Homemade, awesome ice cream
4) Purple monkeys that fly around giving out free gold coins
5) Indoor mini-golf for cheap, rain, snow, or shine
6) Antique furniture, curiosities, and more for sale
7) Wooden toy and craft building shop
8) Hot dog and sausage truck
I have a confession. The monkeys - just a joke. I'm sure you couldn't tell, though, with all this other GREAT stuff.Listed in: Farming out your food and fun, The Rainy Day List

I'd choose this ice cream stand over any other in the area. They always have some seasonal creative flavors and their prices are much better than anywhere else.

This family owned garden center/ice cream maker/indoor minigolf place is a local treasure. The ice cream is made on site. Stop by on a nice day, get a cone and stroll around looking at all the plants, ornamentals, or sit on a bench swing. We buy our Christmas tree there each year. Please visit.

Great ice cream and a great place to relax.

Trombetta's is definitely the best ice cream in the area! There's a lot to look at and do there as well -- mini golf, plants, antiques, wood toy shop. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 is because the environment is a bit dated. They could use a makeover.

While halfway through a monster bike ride in the burbs, we rode past this place and decided to stop. Oh Dear Lord, this place was perfection!
Maybe it's because my butt was numb and I was sweating and starving, or maybe it's just because the Mint Patty Frozen Yogurt with hot fudge is just that good, but I would actually go out of my way to go here again (if I could ever find it again).
Another bonus is that it's cheap. Every time I order ice cream or frozen yogurt somewhere outside of Boston, I am amazed at how cheap it is. Oh and the "small" was enormous. I would have thought it was a large. -

This is a great place for anyone who likes mini golf, high quality ice cream, and plants!
Also, there is a hidden gem of a wooden toy workshop in the back, where for $10 or less, your kids can build and decorate an original wooden toy. It is pretty awesome! -

Wow! I left here with a big smile on my face.
Really nice family run garden center with a full Ice Cream Bar, and indoor put-put course.
I was over that way tonight, and popped in. I was immediately impressed with how clean and neat the place is. I was also impressed by the stock they sell.
After a nice chat with the owner, I picked out some plants, got a soft-serve, and drove away in a terrific mood.Listed in: Ice Cream a lot!

I love homemade ice cream! I love even more that I can walk to get homemade ice cream. I REALLY love that I can get homemade ice cream year round!!! Every other ice cream stand (Kimball's, Uhlman's, Erikson's) closes for the fall/winter.
This place has a nice garden center too. I can just grab an ice cream and go walk around the center. Plenty of herbs, plants, cacti, flowers.
They've added a hotdog stand too which I have yet to try.
They have an indoor mini golf course that's open year round. I see tons of kids in there every time I peak in. I need to babysit my nephew one of these days so I can have an excuse to play mini golf!Listed in: My Neighborhood

Trombetta's Farm makes ice cream cake. Did you know that? I didn't.
When we cut into the cake at the party I was at, and it turned out to be ice cream with cookie crumble in the middle, I assumed that it was a Carvel cake. That impression, however, only lasted until my first taste. Wow, so rich and creamy! And the "chocolate" layer was actually mocha. Yum! -

We love Charlie. Laura and the crew at Trombettas!
It's a family owned garden center/ice cream place/mini golf and there is also a make your own wooden toys shop attached. They recently added a separate hotdog stand, but whenever we go, it's rarely open. But bear in mind, it's operated by someone else.
The place itself is slightly sprawling, added-on, but within the last year, they've sunk money into the place to add new siding, update the inside and Mr. Trombetta also added a little outside nook with grapevines and a firepit. Can't wait til next summer to see it covered in grapes! There is outside seating and also wooden swings to sit on while you eat your ice cream.
We get most of our plants and garden supplies there. They will give you advice if you need it. We also got our first Chrismas tree there. The prices were so reasonable (about $30 for a 5 1/2 ft tree) and they even recut the stump and tied it to our car, all in about 15 minutes.
We go there four seasons out of the year and recommend anyone supporting a worthy, family-owned local business. -

I love Trombetta's! They have excellent ice cream, which is smooth and well, creamy. My favorite flavors are pumpkin (only in the fall, boo) and coffee oreo, which is fabulous. The mini golf course is fun, too, for what it is. It's not the greatest, but it can be fun on a rainy day and it is very cute.
Go local at Trombetta's! -

Homemade ice cream truck at a farmer's market. That's a novelty experience for me to witness an ice cream truck at the coolidge corner centre street farmers market.
It was a pretty chilly day (50s) but there are plastic chairs around the ice cream truck where the old and the young can sit down to enjoy the ice cream.
My favorite - GINGER. The ginger is so finely grained that it's just a hint of flavor. I got the kiddie cone for $2.00. You can request the kid size cone but it's not listed on the truck.

I am in LOVE with ice cream and Trombetta's is by far the BEST in all of MASS. I have tried Richardsons, Mad Willies, Kimball Farms, Christina's, and all the other random places but Trombetta's is #1 by FAR.

Imagine you are 7 years old and have money! Now go someplace where you can play mini golf in a glassed in rainforest course, get penny candy and really great homemade ice cream. I like to come here for play dates.

Great school vacation week diversion for my visiting family - 3 teenagers, 4 adults and one toddler all had a good time. Indoor mini golf is not huge but it's really well laid out; lots of fun to play. Short wait; reasonably priced ($6 under 17; $7.50 for adults). Delicious home made ice cream afterward. Nice afternoon!

Plants, Ice Cream, and Mini-Golf. Hooray! I went for the plants, and I thought the selection was a bit meager. HOWEVER, the ice cream was delicious and, although I didn't mini-golf, it looked like fun!

What more could anyone ask for something for everyone, ice cream, plants, antiques, mini-golf and wood working, oh and now hot dogs! The mini-golf kept an 8yr old and a 4yr old busy for a good half hour, I've never had bad ice cream (fav's are chocolate and Pumpkin) and last year when we bought our X-mas tree, we got a free mini-golf game! As far as the plants go, sometime lush and beautiful, sometimes, not so much, you just have to hit it right. Definitely worth a visit if in the area!

Well worth the trip. Great little hidden jem next to the Marlboro Airport. Hard packed or soft serve, tons of flavors, tons of toppings, great waffle cones....and Mini-golf to boot! If this place doesn't make you feel like a kid again nothing ever will. Not even Woody Woodpecker or Tom and Jerry.
You can't go wrong with a trip to Trombetta's. -

Trombetta's is my favorite place to get ice cream, hands down! I grew up eating it every summer, and now I drive an hour to bring my kids back to one of my childhood favorites! The blackraspberry is unmatched in flavor!

I wish I could give this place more stars but the ice cream was particularly horrible/bland. I ordered espresso chip and pretty much got chocolate ice cream with chocolate chunks in it ... not even a hint of java. My SO ordered cake batter and got vanilla ice cream with colored sprinkles in it. They didn't even have chocolate jimmies to dip your ice cream into. If you've ever been to Kimball's farm or Pinecroft Dairy or even Meolas this place will be a huge letdown in the ice cream department. I give the ice cream 1 star.
But the rest of the deal is pretty fun for a family. There's a little hot-dog/burger truck that seemed pretty average but that's ok. There's plenty of greenery to look through ... we picked up a couple of hanging pots for our deck. There's a lot of space to wander around in and it's old fashioned and well laid out. And there's the mini-golf which kind of completes the experience.
Overall I'd say its a 3 star experience (It's no Kimball's farm) with 1 star ice cream.Comment from Anthony T. of Trombetta's Farm 7/20/2009

I have loved this place for 15 years. Great ice cream, mini-golf and plants. My sister got married 2 years ago and we brought 200 mini pumpkins from them and they were amazing!
