I'm a B&B newbie, but I love the idea of hotels/inns that are more than your standard hotel chain, so props to the bf for choosing this place for my birthday surprise weekend. It was lovely and charming, yet not over-the-top in Victorian/floral craziness, either, which made it feel a little more... youthful? than some of the other B&Bs I've perused on the interweb.

We had the room downstairs, just off the parlor, and somewhat facing the street. The website cautions that guests might find the road noise disturbing in the room, but we didn't notice it at all for the one night we were there, although we also had the air conditioning running through most of the night. Props to the proprietors though for a) warning people in advance on the website, and b) providing a set of earplugs :D Speaking of noise, the room is just off the parlor, where jazz music was playing late into the evening when we returned from dinner. I was somewhat worried that the french door to our room wouldn't block out the music, but once we closed the door, I couldn't hear a thing.

The king size bed was not only gorgeously appointed, but also clean, comfortable, and luxurious feeling, and the hardwood floors also solidified the sense that I was not just in another hotel room with industrial grade carpeting. I think the only drawback was the small shower stall in the bathroom, although I heard that other rooms have jacuzzi tubs (and there's a hot tub outside, although we didn't have the chance to try it out).

Breakfast was great, and much more than any "free continental breakfast" offered by hotels (apple cobbler, ham and cheese souffle with biscuit, and fresh juice beats somewhat stale croissants and Minute Maid any day).

For the one night that we were there, I absolutely loved this place. I'm not sure what the social scene is like in the evening, but I'm guessing if you're not the social or reading type, you might miss having a TV in your room. At the same time, though, I think it adds to the small inn charm and romanticism.

Fun place to stay - we were on our honeymoon and all the other couples staying at the inn that weekend were young (early 30's or younger). It was fun to hang out with everyone during the complimentary happy hour (plus the wines and snacks were great!). Breakfast wasn't my cup of tea - I prefer the buffet-style breakfasts at the B&B's because they offer more variety. Hostess did pack us a travel breakfast the morning we left for the airport which was a nice touch. I read reviews on other sites where people complained about the noise being on a main road - maybe we were really drunk but it didn't interfere with our sleep at all! :) It's no more than a 5-7 minute drive from the square, and was convenient for hitting up several wineries. I'd probably stay here again!

When you're a parent of a young child, getting away sometimes means just down the road. That's how found ourselves at the Trojan Horse recently. Though we were still in Sonoma, it was so relaxing a quiet we felt like were a world away. The bed was huge fluffiness and the bathroom ample. The breakfast was definitely the highlight. Their shrimp frittata was super tasty as was the yummy muffin. A nice anniverary get away.

Very friendly staff, clean and beautifully appointed rooms.  This B&B is within walking distance to restaurants and shops.  Excellent coffee with the breakfast.  Although my friend and I didn't make it down for the breakfast itself.  A tray of brownies was provided for guests to enjoy and they were delicious.

I loved this place.  I stayed here Last year in February for 1 night.  You know when you just want to get away from everything for a day or so.  Thats what i did.  I found on the website a spontaneous weekend getaway, where if you call a couple days in advance and they have an open room, you get it for a discounted rate.  Awesome.  I did, and i got it for cheap.

So a friend and i went up to sonoma for wine tasting and a bed and breakfast.  This was my first bed and breakfast experience, and i tell people about it to this day.  I loved it.  I was at first apprehensive, but its really comfortable.  This place only has 6 rooms, so its small, quaint, and cozy.  But more about that in a bit.

The rooms were individually decorated.  I think i had the Ella Fitzgerald room.  With a mock fireplace, and a mini jetted tub.  But that doesn't matter, because they have an outdoor hot tub, which i took full advantage of.  Even though it was pouring rain.  I'm talking about Cats and Dogs, we were still in the hot tub drinking champagne and soaking it up.  We were the only 2 people out there, but it was my best hot tub experience ever.  Hot bubbling water all around, and cold rain drops falling on top.  Awesome.

But onto the actual bed and breakfast.  Food is served in the morning, and you should be there on time.  I think it was 8:30 or 9, but we all sat down at the table with the other guests, and had Delicious food.  And then you talk to everyone else about where they are from, or where they went to drink wine and whats good, and all that.  I got a lot of ideas, and found some new wineries.

Its basically for couples i would think, so i pretended that my Friend and i were newlyweds.  We were the youngest people there.  Everyone else was between 40-60.  But they were all nice.

The owners were all friendly and the take pride in their work, and it shows.

If you stay here, check out what i wrote in the book in one of the rooms.  I love this place.

We stayed here for two nights and it was a decent stay. The place overall had a really cozy feel, only six rooms so it felt like an individual one bedroom place that was yours. The owners Greg and Bethany were really nice. It was a bit pricey but the weekend we went we got a ella fitzgerald cd and chocolate deserts in our room for both nights, which were tasty (chocolate mousse and brownies). They also gave us these robes that we could wear, which my boyfriend couldn't get enough of, but they were soft =)

They had cookies and tea/hot chocolate/coffee downstairs which was pretty cool, and the breakfast was good. They start exactly at nine so you have to be there or you'll miss out on a good breakfast. We came down at about 9:30 and missed the bacon and eggs, but they were accomodating and gave us granola, yogurt and fresh fruit to eat so we didn't go hungry. We made sure to go down early and we got a huge slab of french toast, sausage and eggs. It was delicious. The freshly squeezed OJ and champagne drink they served breakffast with was really good. And you sit and eat with all the other guests at a big table and it was fun talking to people from diffferent places but we were the youngest of the bunch so at times a little awkward bc they're kids were about our age.

It's definitely a place for couples to go to bc it's got a really romantic feel. I think some of the other guests went to the spa onsite too. Each room is different which I liked, ours had a whirlpool bathtub (another room had a jacuzzi in it) and we made good use of it. There was no tv though which was a bummer so we ended up sleeping most of the time in the room but at night, the hallway lights kept us up, and in the morning, the rooster and light from outside woke us up. This place was nice, I would go again, but I would also try out other B&B's. I liked that it was within walking distance to the downtown area, so the traffic where we were staying wasn't super busy (although it was off of a highway)

my girlfriend and i stayed here 2 nights in february.
the room we had was kind of small but the bed was nice and the bathroom was large with a whirlpool bath big enough for us two and probably one more girl ;) kidding of course.
anyway the room was kind of bright - light from the hallway, windows, etc. kept it a little lighter than we liked at night. the noise from the street was kind of loud.
there was no tv, but there's a clock radio with a cd player. they provided dessert wine and cookies downstairs, and served breakfast at nine. and they mean you have to be there at that time - everyone whos staying at the inn sits down at one big table and eats together. it's actually pretty fun, but we were the youngest of the group - everybody seemed like they were in their 40's or something.
the breakfast was tasty - french toast, eggs, etc.
the people here are nice and friendly. overall it was a comfortable stay. it'd be better if it were closer to the center of town (it's 1 mile away) and a little cheaper =P
i'd probably try another place next time just for a change and to compare the two but it's definitely not a ripoff or a place you leave and think "man we should've stayed at ____ instead!" but it's not perfect either.
