Tristin styling's remote styling was WONDERFUL!
Here is why:
I had to attend a screening of a short film I did at the San Diego Film Festival.  It was my first 'real' time attending a film fest that had my own project in it.  It was also a good opportunity to catch up with the director, producer, and network!

The big question was... WHAT AM I GONNA WEAR!?

Simple!  Call TristinStyling!

1. Take a few digital photos of clothing, send to Tristin and discuss options etc.
2. After choosing one or two outfits, take a few photos in suggested outfits, send to Tristin to discuss.

Ta-da!  Easy!  I'm not the most fashion savvy gal on the earth (mostly a tomboy growing up and started using make-up at 24 years old... i think that says it all).

My next step is to go shopping with Tristin~~!

Thank you Tristin!

Well, it's been two weeks since Christine came over to organize my closet and I can say that I have NEVER kept my closet so organized for this long!  It's like a little piece of heaven every time I open the door!

She also did a great job helping me weed out some pieces I was questioning, and helped me find new outfits with the pieces we kept.  Can't wait to schedule a shopping trip with her in the fall.  I highly recommend her services!

I HATE shopping, but I like to look nice, it makes me feel better about myself and I'm in a better mood.   I realized I needed help- I kept buying stuff on my own, but I didn't know how to get the most out of my wardrobe.  I would have trousers, but no tops to match, tons of skirts, but no shoes to wear with them....always looking a bit unfinished.

Christine to the rescue!  She came over for a two hour closet audit.  After about an hour, she was very honest and said I needed more texture and pattern to really bring my wardrobe together.  Everything I had was simple and solid--hence the "boring-ness" (my term).  She very kindly adjusted her rate and we agreed to meet for a shopping day on another date to focus on accent pieces and accessories.  I was grateful and appreciative for her honesty--that's exactly what I needed-- a little bit of "what not to wear" truthfulness.

We went shopping yesterday and got some amazing things, without spending thousands of dollars.  Creative, fun and stylish--I've now changed the way I think about shopping.

The best thing Christine has done for me is made me realize I need to look at how I dress myself like how I approach my cooking. When I cook,  I look at what I have in the pantry and try to think of what creative meal I can prepare with what I have.  I now think about layering, texture and balance with how I dress in the same way.  I feel better about how I look and I have to think that helps me deal with clients at work and just relieve stress in general.

You can either keep shopping on your own, spending money on clothes you may or may not wear--or you can take those dollars and have someone really help you figure out your wardrobe with what you already have.

Plus she's super nice, fun and professional!

Part of my model prize pack for the yelp fashion show was my choice of a closet organization or assisted shopping session with Christine of tristinstyling. I choose the closet knowing that I need to purge rather than add MORE clothes to my collection!

I really wasn't sure what to expect as I thought my closet was pretty well organized already but Christine blew me away. She went through every closet in my apartment and came up with a comprehensive plan on how to rearrange everything including coats, shoes, etc to make my space most useful. And this girl is not just a planner she is do-er! At the end of my session every item I own had been evaluated and organized! My closets look fab and she is all about little details like finding matching hangers that really make a difference.

For me the most valuable part of this service was her help in evaluating what to get rid of. I have no emotional attachment to clothes but I have trouble determining if something is worth keeping because it might come back in style or be able to be worn in a new way. Christine picked which of my clothes were outdated or didn't work for me and best of all she explained WHY! This was seriously invaluable as now I know what colors, cuts, and fabrics to look for and which to avoid. I really feel like I gained a lot of knowledge about clothes and what is best for my body type.

Now I am trying to talk my boyfriend into using her services - I think she would be especially useful for guys since most of you seem to have no clue what to wear or what looks good on you (sorry but it's true!). Overall a fun, useful, and absolutely 5 star service!

I love to shop and have to admit that I'm pretty good at it...especially just throwing down my credit card in some of my favorite boutiques around town.  But when it comes to vintage shopping and finding good deals sometimes I need some help and I didn't realize just how much help I needed until I met the oh so fashionable Tristin M (http://www.yelp.com/us...).

When I first met Tristin a few weeks ago I found myself admiring her adorable vintage dress and cool accessories...where could I find an outfit like that? And before I knew it Tristin was in my closet and joining me on shopping trips. Tristin is a wardrobe stylist (I believe that's the proper term for it) and based on her AMAZING sense of style she couldn't have a job more perfect for her! I believe her prices vary with what you hire for, but it seems to be about $60 an hour...and boy is she worth it!

Tristin started off in my closet last week helping me organize a bit...I was ready to donate the old stuff I don't wear anymore, but half of the stuff I was about to put into the trash bag Tristin would pair it with a cute tunic in my closet or something else that I would never dream of and all of a sudden I had all these new outfits! She even pulled out the scissors and started cutting shirts (with my approval of course) to turn them into something cool and trendy again.  I love this girl!

After deciding what I needed for fall (actually I really don't need anything...more like WANT for fall) Tristin and I made our way to a bunch of thrift shops on Milwaukee.  I typically stay away from thrift stores because I don't even know where to start, but that's just because I've never had Tristin at my side. She found the cutest things on those racks and at the BEST prices...seriously, I brought home a marc jacobs jacket for $40!

I had given Tristin a budget ahead of time and she really did a great job of staying within it...I was about to grab a cute camisole for $50 at one of our non thrift store shops, Free People, but she quickly reminded me that I didn't need it and we could find a comparable camisole for much less...and here I was thinking it was a great deal! Who knew that paying a wardrobe stylist would actually save money???

I walked  away with some great clothes today for my fall wardrobe and can't wait to go shopping with Tristin again!

Tristin's web site is currently in the works, but if you want some wardrobe tips of your own email her here: christine@tristinstyli...

Tristinstyling, wardrobe stylist Christine Matsunaga styled me for my prom and it was really cool. She did my hair (with the style I wanted), a little make-up (because I'm not big on wearing make up), and I had a dress but I wanted to style my dress because it was a little plain looking. So Christine turned my dress into a strapless dress and took the straps and tied a small bow in the front top. How cool? It was really nice. Christine is also a personal shopper and comes along with you and advises you, sort of like the show "What Not To Wear" although Christine will advise you what will look good on you and she recommends what you should get and recommends stores for you as well.

I have just had Christine come to my house for a closet audit, the first of what I'm sure will be several sessions.  When my husband came home from work and saw the pile of stuff to get rid of, he was a little annoyed that now I would say I didn't have anything to wear (my closet is impeccable now!).  Surprisingly, I feel that I have more outfits to choose from.  While she didn't even get through all the clothes I had left, she photographed 10 outfits that, while I never would have thought to put them together, I LOVE them and can't wait to wear them.  So, now my husband is interested in having her do his closet - to start...

We still have a few more outfits to go.  Our next meeting is for shopping and the budget she came up with for me is so affordable that I can actually look forward to it!  My 20 year high school reunion is in August and while I'll be managing the physical aspect of that, Christine is already hired for that outfit that must be spectacular.

Christine is so wonderfully sweet and cute in her style and personality.  We had fun going through my closet (maybe me more then her) cause we got rid of so much of my stuff that I just didn't know what to do with.  I now look at my lookbook when I'm lost on what to wear.  Christine will be coming back to my place for another session after I buy some pieces she listed that I needed.  Then the fun will continue as we figure out more outfits to wear.  Christines service was definetely worth it for those who want to add more style with clothes you already have and what you need to add to your own "style".  Thanks Christine!

Christine helped me go from fobulous to Fabulous in less than three styling sessions and a day at the Mall.  I totally hate shopping!  She makes it FUN and best of all makes you look good at the same time.  If thinking about improving your wardrobe makes you reach for the Pepto Bismol, give her a call.   She's a professional.  It'll totally be worth your time and money!

Christine was a pleasure to work with, she did such a good job of planning the whole shoot and organizing all the logistics, we didnt even have to do much in planning because she took care of it all! We really loved the finished product and she even organized an additional interview  with Project Newspeak to get us press for our photo shoot. She was so sweet and so fun to work with...it was a really long shoot and her energy and enthusiasm really kept everyones energy up. Her sense of style was amazing, the funny thing is that I had been eyeing this paid of Marciano shoes for a month and hadnt been able to find them in stores. How surprised I was when I got to the shoot and she had that pair of shoes for me to wear on the shoot. I never told her about this pair of shoes, its as if she read my mind! On the shoot I messed up a pair of the shoes somehow (not on purpose!) and she was so understanding about it, I felt really bad about it and she handled it with such dignity and class, i cant wait to work with her again!
