Wow this is the best spot for camping.  Cost 20 bucks per car for the weekend and the only rules are low impact camping, no fireworks, fires must stay under 6 feet and you have to take everything you  bring in out, thats it for the rules.  3 of my friends and I came up early friday morning to stake out our 2 sites which we got right next to each other and right next to a waterfall with extremely cold mountain water, it was loud with the waterfall but every second sounded like one of those relaxing nature sound machines from the sharper image back in the day.  With the 2 sites we set up camp for 12 people and let the 5 day fest begin.  Close to loon mountain so we were able to get more beer and ice and anything else we forgot in about a half hour.  Music as loud as we want since the brook/stream is loud enough to drowned it out from any nearby sites, wich in reality arent all that close probably 1/4 of a mile, unfuckingreal!!!!!!!  Doing some hiking we came across a baby moose that looked at us with an amazingly dumb expression, we caught some speckled trout in a pond thats on top of a 1.5 mile hiking trail, be warned east pond is a pretty tough hike with gear and not a great swimming hole, lots of leaches, use russel pond for swimming and check out the sweet rope swing that is a short walk around the pond.  You have to be cautious about keeping a clean site here as this is black bear country and some friends who had been before had  2 run ins in the site.  As a precaution we had pepper spray and 2 shotguns per campsite, we like guns so what, but as long as you keep a clean site and food packed in cars you should be alright.  It is the last site in the northeast of its kind, go camp and be respectful of it as the sherrif who politely comes up at night and introduces himself and explains the area to you, make sure you offer him some steak tips too!
