3 reviews for Triple R
Gave the Tripe R another try and it was a worth it. Best to stick with the basics on the menu and you will be pleased. Wait staff is pleasant and friendly. About half way through dinner they had some one come in and start playing the piano. It was a nice touch, but it was waaaay too loud for the small space. I noticed a number of other tables trying to talk over the music as well. So in the future I will just request a table at the other end of the restaurant and that should help the situation.

Brrrr....it was a winter wonderland. I wondered what I was doing there why were they playing disco music and why were they serving this food. We decided to have Xmas eve dinner there because it was local to our hotel and didn't want to drive too far on a cold rainy night. We entered the restaurant and it was colder inside that outside. Brrrrr.....again. For $16.95 fixed price menu, I understand we're not at French Laundry. But I didn't expect cold Costco standards. The rolls were cold and freshly out of a bag. I know this because the waiter walked by with a big plastic unopened bag of rolls. The butter was frozen and couldn't be spread. Salad came out of a bag as well. We chose the roast beef over the turkey and ham. I got a a healthy portion of roast beef with mashed potatoes, yams, and steamed brocholi. It was okay. Luckily I was hungry enough. Mashed potatoes were the highlight of the meal. They were tasty with just the right amount of gravy. Beef was okay. I couldn't finish it because of the big fat gristle on the largest slice. Desert was too sweet and so so at best. Cup cake was still frozen. Double chocolate chip cookies were fresh out of the oven. Not bad, but too sweet. Again... I do recognize that it was $16.95. But I would have much preferred the Costco slice of pizza on this cold night. Plus I've had penty of great meals for much less. So it can be done. They finally turned on the fire place as we were leaving. On the positive side, the waiter was pretty good. He was attentive, pleasant, and had a sense of humor. I probably won't be eating at this place any time soon. If they just would have heated some of the food, they might have gotten another half a star. Brrr......

You don't have to be gay to enjoy the restaurant. Comfortable food, service and atmosphere.
