I didn't expect to have dinner in Verona during our trip but we did after we got to see Juliet's balcony. Al Bracere is a little restaurant that has plenty of room for large groups. This was our last included dinner on our Contiki tour. I remember that the decor looked like someone's living room with lots of interesting items strewn about. There was no theme but after a long day, I didn't care too much.
We were served a plate of cheeses with balsamic glaze as a starter. The house wine we opted to buy a bottle of and split it at our table. It was pretty affordable at 9 euro split between 3 people. Our entree plate had salad, gnocchi in a tomato sauce, and baked chicken. It was ok but definitely a change to all the pasta and pizza we had been eating. The dessert was fantastic. It was pastry with cream and berry compote. As always, our service was spot on and they have clean restrooms for customers. After a long day of sightseeing, this was a welcome dinner before heading to our hotel.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Johannes M.Erlangen, Germany02Jul 3, 2018
First of all I would like to say that the food was excellent and that the interior was decorated beautifully.
We did run into a couple of issues with the staff tough. We were being served by a young lady that clearly had some trouble understanding the English language, so we ended up explaining to her that we didn't want to mix two pizzas, but to just add mushrooms and onions on one of them. Next off I we didn't get our drinks for over half an hour and had to wait another 20 minutes for the pizza to arrive at our table. In the end the food was worth the wait.
Last of all I would just like to mention that there is no proper air conditioning and that the chairs are unbelievable uncomfortable to sit in.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
