Got the armholes on a really scratchy annoying sequined dress widened here. Customer service was top notch, the work was great and speedy, and the price seemed about right. Will definitely be back.

My pants have never looked better! My husband and I brought in five pairs of pants to have altered (we're short people) and they were done in less than a week and are very well done! The ladies that run the shop clearly know what they're doing. I will certainly be back for any and all of my alteration needs in the future. Thanks for all your help!

I'm about 6 months late on this review. So I apologize in advance!  First, I will say that the ladies at Triana Tailors are very sweet and welcoming.  I love that no matter how feverishly they appear to be working, as soon as you step through the door they look up to greet you with a sincere smile.

Triana herself is very soft-spoken, but very detail oriented (of course the nature of her work).  Might I add, she has a very gentle touch.  Never once did I feel like I was being crammed into my dress.

In April I received a final fitting on my wedding dress.  The top was taken in, straps were removed and 5 points were sewn in for an American-style bustle.  Although I went against their recommendation to add cups, she was still able to transform my clearance rack dress into a wonderful masterpiece.

The only reason I didn't give her 5 stars is because 2 points on my bustle tore right before the reception.  Maybe that was my fault (lots of hopping around a dancing), but I wished that it was a bit more reinforced.

    P.S.
I did take a pair of shorts to be taken in over the summer.  Flawless work!  Too bad I've lost weight since then :O)

    This review is far overdue.

I ended up getting my wedding dress tailored here. The whole process was really easy and they did a great job on the dress. I thought the cost was reasonable considering the amount of alterations they had to do. I recently moved to South Austin, so I probably won't be back, but I definitely recommend them.

Workmanship is fine, but the general attitude is terrible.  They don't really care if you use them or not since they obviously have enough business.  I can honestly say that was the absolute worst 'customer service' I've ever been hit with (the older woman in the shop actually got in my face over a mistake THEY made - Yikes).  You're better off going to Oliva's, which isn't far away from there.

I've never been to a tailor, save for customizing a suit for my wedding way, way long ago. In spring of 2015, I was facing a dilemma: 4 suits + 1 sports jacket accumulated over the years, but none of them fit well. so, looking at top-rated Yelp tailors in the Austin area, picked Triana based on other reviews.

The ladies did not disappoint. After I hauled in my wardrobe, they patiently had me try on every suit and jacket and offered advise. After it was figured out that it simply wasn't worth it to fix the suits (which were a little too 1999, anyhow), they recommended Sacks OFF 5th Fashion Outlet as a great place to get designer suits.

Made the drive, found a great suit (retail $1495, sale $399), brought it back in, and they had it for me 4 days later - was leaving on a trip and needed to bring formal wear. so, a great recommendation, a quick turnaround, and, most importantly, a great looking final result. plus, I got to get rid of all the old suits that were just cluttering up the closet!

When looking for any sort of help, I want to be talking to a pro who's going to save me time and hassle by doing it once and doing it right. that's exactly what Triana Tailors are and you better believe i'm going there the next time I need something altered.

I'd give them five stars for customer service as the women were very kind and inviting!  They certainly knew what they were doing, too; very knowledgeable and educated in their field.  Unfortunately, there was no way I could afford to have them alter my wedding gown.  The cost, quite frankly, was absolutely outrageous!  $800 to alter my dress which included taking in the sides half an inch, sewing cups into the breast, inserting four bones around the waist for added support, and a french bustle - $460 to take in the sides alone!!  I was astonished by the prices.  To alter a simple little romper it was $70.  Needless to say, I'll be going somewhere else.

I have always gone to Triana Tailors when I need alterations to a formal dress or bridesmaid dress but after a few bad experiences I will not be back.

Experience #1- I had a long dress that needed to be hemmed. I brought in the heels I would be wearing with it and told them I wanted it a little off the ground. When I went to wear it to an event, it was dragging on the floor and I was tripping over it all night.

Experience #2- Bridesmaid dress, again, needed hemming. I get to the wedding and we all go to put on our dresses and I discover that mine no longer has a sash (I had picked it up from them and gone straight to the wedding). I assume they threw it away with the extra material from the dress. I was lucky that another bridesmaid's tailor had given her the extra material from the bottom of her dress and we were able to make this in to a makeshift sash for mine.

Experience #3- I had some fabric I wanted made into a garter for my wedding. I brought it in with a picture of exactly what I wanted. They measured my leg, and a few weeks later I picked up my custom garter. On my wedding day, my garter FELL OFF in the middle of the aisle in the church. I wish I was making this up but it's in all of our wedding pictures. They clearly did not make it to the size of my leg and did not make the elastic tight enough.

... For a business that specializes in bridal, you would think that these three errors would be things they would know better. but no. Needless to say I do not plan on returning to Triana Tailors.

I had a bridesmaids dress from BHLDN that I needed hemmed, so I took it in on a Friday morning and was able to pick it up the next Tuesday afternoon, as I was leaving on Wednesday. Triana Tailors was very professional, although I felt a little rushed and not particularly welcomed -- then again, it may have just been a consequence of how busy they were as I could see racks and racks of clothing in the work area.

I appreciated that they didn't require payment up front or even a deposit, although when I picked up my dress they were working kind of down to the wire (they told me to pick it up at 4pm but weren't done yet when I called around 3:50pm to check and they close at 5:30pm). It was also kind of pricey (~$63) but my dress did have three layers, and the quality of work was excellent.

For the professionalism and quality of work, I would return to Triana!

What a great place. I thought it would be a daunting process having my wedding dress altered, but it wasn't. The dress I purchased was too big, however the vision of my dress started to become a reality with each visit to Triana's. The staff here was attentive and asked me how I felt with each change they were considering. I appreciated how they took the time to explain how the fabric worked and what it's capabilities and limitations were. The process seemed like a puzzle where small changes to bits and pieces added up to an amazing result.

The last visit was about a week before my wedding, and I noticed the dress revealed too much of my chest than I felt comfortable with. They assured me it looked fine but could tell I was uncomfortable so they made it a priority to make some last minute changes.

I can see how wedding dress alterations can be frustrating at times for both parties, however I never sensed any frustration from them. Everyone there was super patient and knowledgable. The designated parking spaces in the front are really convenient too. I would recommend this business to anyone! Thanks Triana's!!

I LOVE this place.  Me and my husband bring all of our clothes here.  They are done perfectly EVERY time.  All of the ladies are super professional and really take their time with sizing your garment.  Today I picked up a bridesmaid dress (not many ladies get excited about those), and it fit like a glove.  I recommend you find this little hidden gem for all of your clothing alterations.

Life Saver!!! I had a horrible experience with a tailor on MLK. She had my husband's suit tailored not only in 4 hrs but she stayed past closing to complete the damage done prior. Thank you so much. We will be back!!

My first experience with a tailor that wasn't for a bridesmaid dress-
After losing 10 pounds I had two pairs of slacks from the Gap that needed to be taken in at the waist and butt and decided to have the hem taken up just a bit and the buttons reinforced as well.
Brought both pairs in on a Saturday- the very nice ladies had me try them on and made their markings, asked me if I needed them quickly (I did not) so told me to come back the following Saturday for pick up.
Came back next Saturday, they were ready and fit absolutely perfectly!
Not exactly cheap- $80 total for both pairs, but worth it!
Great quality work and excellent fit!

These ladies know what they're doing! They'll tell you if a piece of clothing is working for you or not. No up-selling or unteasonable prices. Very sweet.

This isn't so much a review as it an open question. Can someone explain to me the rationale why every tailor in Austin, including Triana are so EXPENSIVE when the quality is so poor? At every local tailor in NYC, whether Chinese, Korean or East European you will have next to perfect work done at far cheaper prices than here.

Why is this market so special when it's tiny? I realize that perhaps people do not go to tailors on a regular basis but couldn't we just find an equitable price point. Even in Dallas it's cheaper.

    Thanks for your advice folks.

I realize that women have reviewed this tailor for wedding dresses or work clothes, so let me be one who reviews for just dresses I wanted repaired.

I got three dresses fixed, one altered and two with new zippers for $50 bucks total. I consider that the higher end of the alterations market, but they did a great job nonetheless. It took two weeks, so despite the fast turnaround marrying women are getting, you have to wait some time. Should you go to a dry cleaner? Well. This is a quality question more than anything.

I felt slightly rushed while in their dressing room full of mirrors. That is the only thing I can think of that was annoying. It happened when picking the dresses up as well. But overall, I am very satisfied with them, because it was a laid back atmosphere with three other workers who acknowledged your presence.

They also have a creative way of altering fabrics they don't have in stock, and that's certainly one of the best characteristics a tailor can have. Yay to being able to wear my first halter top dress without a bra (if the itty bitties can do it, why can't I?)!

I have used them twice now for small projects, mostly fixing seams and such. The first time I dropped off a few different garments and they were ready to be picked up on time and were done to perfection for a reasonable price. The second time they quickly fixed a seam while I waited and for no charge! I will be bringing them all of my business from now on!

I had a suit tailored here and was very satisfied. I've never had a suit tailored before, so I have no frame of reference for the price. They shortened my sleeves, hemmed the pants, took in the sides for a better fit and made sure there was no bunching in the back, and the total was $130. Friendly, professional, and they do good work.

I've been here many times and have received excellent service. Today though was superb. I had a blazer with a loose button. I want to wear it this evening so I stopped by first thing this morning hoping I could get it back by 5p. She told me to wait 5 minutes. Tighten the button up and sent me on my way. When I ask how much I owed she said nothing. She has gotten my business before and will continue to get it! Top notch service!
