This is the greatest airport to get in and out of. I landed here on a small little jet (not a fan of the small jets) and walked out on the tarmac. This is the only airport that I have gotten on and off using the steps and not the connected bridge thing.

Right when I got off the plane, I headed up to baggage claim. Here I waited all of about 5 mins for my luggage. I'm used to the Oakland airport where I've waited a min of 25 mins. There was no crowd at all and we actually were the only plane that was unloading.

I left a few days later and not feeling too well from the night before, I went into the restaurant area where I drank 2 bloody marys. After one went down, I ordered some chili cheese fries. Per the bartender, the chili is award winning and placed 3rd in the chili national chili cook off. It was very tasty.

After my hangover meal. I went through security. This is the absolute best place for security. You literally only have to get to the airport about 20 mins before your flight rather than the standard 2 hours. It's quick and very easy to get to your gate. The funny thing is that there are a few gates, but they all lead to the same spot on the tarmac. The only bad thing about this place is that it's so small, that only small planes fly in and out of. This is at least from what I could see.

Yes, this is a small airport, but it does make going through security (only one security point) easier than at LAX.   There is one gift shop and one restaurant.   There aren't many gates here.  But now you actually get to walk down a jet way to get to the plane instead of walking under the covering to climb up the stairs to the plane.

My parents are always able to find parking right in front of the terminal.  If you are coming here, you are probably coming to visit family, business or going to the NASCAR race --- the Tri-Cities isn't a major tourist destination (except when the race is going on), no matter how beautiful the area is.  Welcome to small town, TN!

Free wifi. This alone puts TRI head and shoulders above many larger airports. It also has a free business center, just past the security checkpoint, above the main terminal, that is a nice place to get some last minute work done while waiting for a flight. I fly from here frequently and the time in the airport is always painless  -- although the smaller prop planes that serve it, combined with the area's weather, make for some interesting times above the ground.
