Trentadue offers three lines of wines:  their basic wines (which can be quite good), La Storia estate wines in their dark bottles and they also have an extesnive Port offering.

On my most recent visit I most enjoyed their Viognier and their La Stora Zinfandel and left with a bottle of the latter.  It was incredibly soft and smooth with subtle hints of spice on the finish.  It is blended with 18% Petite Sirah and 4% Carigane.  Loved it.

Free tasting and 15% off wine purchases with Visa Signature card.

An hour's drive away from Napa in Geyserville (Sonoma County) is Trentadue Winery.  While there, my fiancé and I sampled a variety of red, white, and port wines while speaking with the winemaker, Miro Tcholakov, who stepped away from his busy bottling to welcome us.  My favorite Trentadue wine was the award-winning 2005 La Storia Zinfandel Alexander Valley Estate, while my fiancé enjoyed the 2007 Sauvignon Blanc Dry Creek Valley. The winery also makes its own olive oil.

Tastings at Trentadue range from $5 to $20 per person.  Reservations are required for La Storia Reserve tastings and the Gondola Tour.  The winery is open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm daily.

I really like the grounds at Trentadue. They have dogs, they are in the winery dog book, cute. The staff are very friendly, not pushing you to buy but attentive. I love, love their Granache Rose. It's so delicious on a hot day. Get a bottle and sit outside with your luch! they have a beautiful area to picnic, covered or not depending on what ya want.
The winemaker comes in and chats from time to time which is so cool. The family is there, it's still family owned.. it's a great place, you feel welcomed.
Favs: Grenache Rose, Sangiovese and of course the La Storia..

I went to a wedding here last weekend and it was spectacular. They rented out the entire space and it was truly beautiful.

The ceremony was on the lawn, surrounded by grapevines. Then there were appetizers and drinks on the patio and other grassy area on the side. The champagne was great, as were the red and wine blends. We were all surprised at how tasty the wines were. They also had a full bar and a very friendly waitstaff.

The reception was inside and very pretty, with room for tables and a big big dance floor. I may have been kind of "buzzed" for most of this wedding but I definitely thought the location was fantastic as were the red, white and sparkling wines.

I definitely want to come back for a tasting sometime soon.

If I were only rating the wines, I would give 5 stars. Terrific wines reasonably priced, with enough variety to please any palate.

However, the staff who were pouring were not as knowledgeable as they might have been--about wine and winemaking in general, and even about at least one of the Trentadue wines.

I've been a member of the Trentadue wine club for going on 7 or 8 years now. This winery totally flies in the face of my general rule of thumb, which is that the more varietals a winery produces, the less likely any of them are likely to be good. My favorite wineries generally produce just one or two varietals... Cab and Zin, maybe. (Though it seems they all fall victim to varietal creep if you give 'em enough rope, er, time.)

Trentadue produces a bunch of varietals, including several ports. I didn't expect much when I first came in, but was very pleasantly surprised. Pretty much all the wines are decent or better; the La Storia reserves are generally excellent. The value is good too.

I admit to liking their ports, though to me the Amore Chocolate is a bit of a gimmick. (Tasty, but not something I'd consider drinking regularly.) Once though, I went to a port tasting at a wine shop, and compared several "real" ports from Portugal, including 10-year ports, etc. I had asked the shop owner if I could bring a Trentadue port to share with the room, and he was very interested. As much as I liked the Trentadue going in, it just didn't hold up to the complexity and flavor of the other ports. It was sweeter and fruitier, and much more "bold" in its flavor. Still, not bad if you aren't drinking it side-by-side with the real thing.

I've always had a great experience with the tasting room employees, have enjoyed talking to the winemaker on several occasions, and their customer service for the wine club is exemplary.

A great winery to visit, a decent wine (or port) club to belong to, and nice wines to have with dinner.

Two words: Chocolate Amore.

The best tasting chocolate infused port I've had to date.

I'll let the others expound the virtues of the rest of their wonderful wines. I only come here for the chocolate port. We just bought a case last weekend.

Drink much, me?

Get some now.

After all of the hype, I was frankly underwhelmed by the chocolate amore port. However, the berry-like 2005 petite sirah port and the syrupy-rich 2006 zinfandel port made up for the tootsie roll-esque quality of the chocolate port.

This was the last winery we hit on a rainy day, so it is possible that I was just tired of normal wine by that point. I will say that none of the free tastings wowed me (though the rose wasn't bad), and we got samplings of most of them between the people in our party. I did not try the reserve flight (would have been another $5), but I probably would if I were to go back. If one of the reserve wines is half as good as the petite sirah port that we bought, it would be worth trying!

This was definitely the busiest winery that we stopped at, probably due in part to reputation and in part to the event that they were setting up for. A bit pricey, too.

My first experience with this winery was during Barrel Tasting a few years back.  It was a blast.  Tons of food and good wine.   They did a tri-tip that I literally melt in your mouth.  Wow!!  My wine review is selective since there are a few things here that make me happy, listed in order of distinction

1. Chocolate Amore
2. La Storia 32
3. The Cuvee 32
4. Grand Cuvee
5.  Dessert: Late harvest Viognier
6. Cote De Leon.

Now, don't get me wrong, this winery has a lot to offer with their wines.  But, these are the ones that I adore.  It's hard to pic just a few when they are all so good.  The grounds here are lovely.  Very well manicured, beautiful flowers.  I love the fact they have picnic tables for you to sit back and enjoy a bottle of wine.

Lured in by the siren song of port tasting, we had to stop by Trentadue after our tasting at Clos du Bois next door.
A regular tasting is complimentary, and the port tasting was $5.  I shit you not, they have this one dessert wine (Chocolate Amore I think) that tastes so much like chocolate covered cherries it's unbelievable.
Again, I wasn't blown away by any of their wines really - just the one mouth wateringly fantastic fortified Viognier which was soooo yummy; I've never had a white "port" before.
The grounds are nice and there is plenty of event space.  The girl behind the counter and the other customers were really friendly when we were there.

I've been a fan of Trentadue (32) since the early 1970's.  And my they have grown up nicely!  Cute tasting room / gift shop / art gallery. The winery is now a pretty chateau destination for special events - especially weddings. Can accomodtae up to 250 people for your event.

Wines are very good.  Smooth, flavorful.  Prices are moderate.  I like the Sauvignon blanc for $14.

I am not a wine snob but I know what I like and this is one of my favorite little wineries.

I buy the brut champagne (sparkling wine technically) by the case.  It's delicious, dry and very bubbly and for $6 a bottle - woo hoo we can drink champagne on a Tuesday!  I also really like their ports - try the white port while you're there.  They are always very helpful in the tasting room and don't pressure you to buy anything.

Great wines at great prices.  We ended up purchasing a bottle of their sangiovese for under $40--a wonderful, smooth, yet with intricate flavors.

Fun tasting room with little dogs running around.  We were there at closing on a Tuesday, so we got a lot of attention and extra tastings.  Would definitely come back.

My boyfriend and I hadn't really felt compelled to buy wine at any of our stops in wine country until we visited Trentadue.  I know, I know, that seems crazy but we aren't connoisseurs, we just like wine.  So we are typically pretty happy with bottles we find at the grocery store.  That said, the wines we tasted at Trentadue astounded us!  We just loved them and had a terrible time deciding what to buy.

Plus, the vineyard really is beautiful and there was a wedding setting up outside which we could tell was going to be amazing.  Just a lovely, lovely place.

First of all, there are a lot of tasting options here... a dessert wine tasting and a reserve tasting [both $5 as best I recall], plus the free regular tasting..  So if you want to do a lot of tasting, this is the place to go.  It may just have been that they were not busy, but they had no problem with a group of 7 people where we probably ended doing a total of 15 tastings among us.  Some of the wines were good, some okay, and despite not really being a port person I did like some of their ports.
They have a covered picnic area which is very nice, and they do sell some stuff inside [which is a bit pricy but could be nothing or driving back to town] if you need a couple of extra items to eat.   I would definitely go here again.

I hadn't been to Trentadue in while, so I thought I would step in and check it out .I have to say I was impressed by the offerings. The wines were fruity, balanced and full of flavor. The wines were reasonably priced, ranging from good everyday drinkers to some great bottles to save for special occasions. Hats off to the winemaker for a job well done.

This place has a great mix of elegant grounds and a warm staff.  So often the wineries that have 'wedding-hosting' caliber grounds around the tasting house are staffed by folks who won't pour you more than a capful if you don't wear a $90 tie to the vineyard and can't be arsed to tell you what region the cab in your glass was grown in.
Not so, here!  Both of the people behind the counter were welcoming and easy to talk to and offered plenty of information on the ground-to-glass of each wine, as well as pairings.
The Storia line was established for the anniversary of the vineyard a few years back and is elegant and understated.  My favorites were the Viognier port [a combination I'd never thought I'd see!], the sauv, and the Cote de Leon.  I picked up two bottles and spent half an hour admiring the grounds.
The chocolate amore was delicious [this seems to be their flagship port], but was so rich that I can't imagine drinking it - only cooking with it.

FYI - I'm not a drinker and went only because it was recommended by a Manager at a Wine Shop in San Francisco.

We had a great time! We tasted a few of their complimentary wines.  Didn't like them that much so we didn't purchase any.

I personally tasted their Ports for $5 because I love Dessert Wines.  I'm pretty picky and didn't like them but my friends liked some of them.

We loved the place for a few reasons:
-it's stunningly gorgeous with roses covering the buildings, a picturesque water fountain
-very tranquil
-they had photos of prior weddings held there and we had a blast looking through those books.

This place looks really nice and it is a lovely building.  The staff is also pretty friendly.  Their wines are not the greatest, but prices are pretty great.  They have a very drinkable port for only $20.  Now that is pretty much unheard of.  It's nice that you can go there and buy a port that you don't have to feel like you are making an investment in and have it still be pretty decent.  Their regular wines leave a lot to be desired.

There was a wedding going on when we visited.  What a lucky couple to have it held here.  It is gorgeous.  For the free tasting they give you a choice of four wines from about 8 choices.  I really liked the chocolate port.  It tasted like those chocolate liqueur bottles.  Yum!  The port tasting was $5 and my sweetly shared hers with our group.

Hot damn, that chocolate port. Gimme gimme more. Their other offerings are good, but that chocolate port will always stick out in my mind. The winery itself is very nice, and there seems to always be a wedding being set up everytime I'm here. Every winetasting trip up to Sonoma should include a visit to this place.
