    "No money no honey!"

The stylist asked me if i had a girlfriend (she wasn't hitting on me) and i told her i had no money right now because i was paying off some bills. That's how she responded. It was pretty funny and i bust out laughing.

This place does a decent job for an 8 dollar haircut (before tip). I'm not the type of person who will cry if i get a bad haircut because after a week it'll look ok. and then after 2 weeks i'm gonna need another one anyway.

I was happy when I walked out, so I mighta found my cheap local haircut place.

    $10 limit for credit card.

The woman who works here is extremely disrespectful and foul-mouthed. Last evening, I had to fill water at the 'just pure water' store next door. The parking stalls in front of that store were occupied so I pulled up into the stall for this salon. I requested this woman that it would take less than 5 minutes, I just need to fill water and she refused. I was carrying my baby and needed to carry a few gallons of water. I decided to stay put. Its not like I was checking into the hotel next door for the night. But this woman starts screaming at me and wouldn't stop.

Now that's very discourteous for being in customer service business.

I phoned back because I was running late ... asked for Nina ... and I was told she is in Vietnam.  How can you cut my hair if you are in Vietnam, Nina?

So this review is updated: it is based on the _last_ haircut I received from Trendy in the middle of last year: _Meh, I've experienced better_  The lady cutting my hair was wearing some of the craziest patterns (top and pants) that I had ever seen, which is memorable.

I really need to find a replacement for Trendy!  Yelp!?!?

I don't think this place deserve the high stars. Especially, you get what you paid for. I mean how difficult is it to cut a men's hair? They completely ruined my day.

Why is it hard to find a salon who takes pride in their work. I walked in and the lady looked serious. She was most vietnemese speaking but said her name was Tracy and she was the owner. I will not go back here. THere was a huge clump of acrylic under a few nails and the sides of most of my nails were not smoothed out. A few days after they began to grow out the improper shaping was really noticable. To top it off the lady never asked my name and asked three times if I lived around there? She did not have alzeimers I hope? This was one of the worst nail jobs I had had.

I'm reviewing the lash perm and eyebrow wax. I have been looking for a place that does lash perms that does not break the bank, I'm happy to say I found it. I called at 11am and got a same day appointment. Trendy salon is not so trendy and the interior is a bit run down, but the service was great, my lashes are perfectly curled and my eyebrows look great, I will be coming back.
$35 for a lash perm and eyebrow wax, not bad at all!

    What happened?

    Where is Lam?

The new woman is a good cutter but really doesn't have an eye for cuts that flatter you.

Plus, she had her own ideas about what to do with my hair and would ignore my requests. I ended up with a completely strange cut.

    I'm outta here.

I come here for an eyelash perm every few months.  At $25, it is one of the cheapest places around.  The facilities aren't the nicest, but they know what they are doing and will even take you in when you show up 15 minutes before closing (and an eyelash perm can take an hour sometimes).

11/25/2010 update - for a lash perm in SF, go to Venus Permanent Makeup.

Just tried this salon randomly after finding it online.....needed to get my hair colored fast!! I called and they took me right away. Super nice owner named Nina and a nice sylist Lam.

My hair was 3 different shades of brown and orange so I need to tame it down back to a shiny Asian Black....I had tried it once before somewhere else, but the lighter parts never took as well....But....Trendy Salon knew what was up and Walla!!! I have super shiny consistent shiny black, and not Elvira Black, hair that I love for only $65 bucks...It took 2 hours but Lam took his time to make sure each strand was covered. Especially the orange parts.

While I was looking at their menu, I saw an Eyelash perm for $25 bucks...I tried it just to see how the heck it worked and it's pretty natural. Curled eyelashes in 30 mins...we'll see how long it lasts!!  overall great experience.

It's by no means luxury but the get the job done.

Guys...hair cuts are 8 bucks and I saw 6 get their hair cut. All of different races and she does an awesome job!

I've been going to trendy for a long time now.. Nina is the best hairdresser I've had in a long time. She's nice, accurate, and does exactly what I ask her to do. And, I can usually go right in... The best!

Always fast, always good! Nina buzzes me up quick and does a great job! Typically, I just walk-in, and she always takes me right away. Echoing what CK said, "they get the job done".

Worst experience. I just went in for a flat iron styling. Straight forward! They started talking about putting oil in my hair before they started and I said no, I don't want oil. Oil + 300 degree iron would fry the heck out of my hair. I could not believe it. After I told them no, I saw them putting oil in my hair. I said I'm sorry, did you hear me I said no oil and they kept nodding and smiling and touching my hair with more oil. So Mad!!! Listen to your customers! My hair is now burned. I really didn't think anyone could mess up a simple styling but I was so wrong!

After reading all the 5 star reviews on Yelp, I decided to give Trendy Salon a try. I have to say my experience wasn't that great.
First I called to make an appointment. The woman who picked up the phone didn't speak English very well. So I repeated myself several times trying to make sure that she understood I wanted Lam to cut my hair. I was relieved when she said "Yes! Lam AVAILABLE!" When I got there, guess what? There was this mid-aged lady by herself in the salon (I assume she's the same one spoke to me on the phone), she told me Lam was back to Vietnam and he won't be back until next month, so was Nina. So who's gonna cut my hair? She goes "I can do it! No problem!" eh... I'm sorry, but with all due respect, if you couldn't understand who I want to work with, how do I know if you understand what I want my hair to look like? I just felt a bit uncomfortable about the whole situation. I told her I wanted to wait for Lam or Nina to come back, then walked out.
She also says it's $20 for a woman haircut, not the $15 you guys mentioned.

Both I and my husband have been getting haircuts by Lam for the last 3 years now. But, since last month I am not able to take an appointment with Lam. Last month, the person who picks up the phone said he is vacationing in Vietnam with his wife. This month she says Lam is not going to come back anymore to work here. My husband got a very bad haircut last week from the hairdresser here and I am not going as another experiment here.

Lam (sp?) anyway, he is the only guy in here who cuts hair, is really talented. The place is a smoking bargain at $8 for men's haircuts. Lam takes great pride and care in his work, doing a lot  of careful scissor cutting before and after he wields the electric cutter. When prices are this low I tip 50%, which still only amounts to a $12 haircut. Honestly you could pay 4 times that price at a big name salon and your haircut wouldnt be one bit better than what you get from Lam at Trendy. The guy really has a gift for cutting hair and making it look good. Get a haircut here and you will become a regular just like I have. You can also afford to come often and avoid that shaggy look when you wait too long between cuts. I don't know anything about hair coloring or perms, but I see some very good looking work done on women here too and I bet the prices are very competitive. When prices are low and quality is high, that ratio is called VALUE!!! Hooray for Trendy, best value in the South Bay hair styling business.
