Have been to the Treehouse 4 - 5 times over the past few months. I am a weekender here at Carolina Beach with my primary home in Charlotte. I love the food here - great atmosphere and wine. I have taken many friends and we all agree on that point.
The problem they have is the wait staff. I went last night by myself. There was only two other tables there. A slow night for Friday. Two wait staff. I was unfortunate enough to get the waitress. She spent almost the entire time I was there on the Internet and texting. Only twice did she come over and ask if anything was needed. I had to interrupt her Google search to get my check. The lucky thing for them is that good restaurants on the island are limited. -

Food was good, service was terrible! Took over an hour to get our food and the attitude of the owners about the "mix up" as they called it was terrible. We overheard them giving the same "mix up" excuse to several other patrons. Don't waste your time at this place, good food or not.

I visited this place on a business trip to Wilmington. Found it by chance and just loved it. The owners are great people( set on the porch and talked with us for over an hour at closing). Just a very relaxing place to hang out.
They place is alittle small, but that makes it cozy!!!!!! -

This was our favorite restaurant in Carolina Beach. We went there for Dinner the first night we were there and were blown away by the comfort of this place. The food was the best and staff was fantastic. The Butternut Squash Ravioli was simply the best!

Went down to Carolina Beach for a weekend trip at the last minute... We are pretty laid back, so there was absolutely no plan for lunch other than 'Let's see what's around'. One thing we did know, however, is that we weren't going to be going to any of the tourist trap restaurants that litter the beach area. We almost drove past 2 Wine Guys @ The Grind (Treehouse Bistro) because it was so unassuming, but the promise of 'tapas style lunch' drew us right back in.
Wonderful experience! The server was amazingly professional, with the right amount of attention without being overbearing. The chef hadn't yet arrived for the day, but she quickly settled us in with the menus and drinks and took our order while we waited. The seating was sparse, but more than adequate as the tables were on the porch on a beautiful day. When the chef did arrive, he had armfuls of fresh produce and other products in his arms.. a definite good sign. He deposited his purchases inside, came out to confer with us on our selections (anti-pasti plate with a smorgasbord of cheeses and meats like brie, prosciutto, pancetta, fresh manchego..., flatbread with roasted red peppers, and create-your-own panini), and then disappeared inside. Promptly, lunch arrived, and was devoured! It went wonderfully with their selection of wine by the glass as well. With such flavorful, reasonably priced menu options, and great service, we will definitely be returning.
