I've been "Treatbotting" for at least year and I love it! One of my more memorable nights was waiting for Treatbot to arrive in a downtown SJ parking lot and watching the driver circle around the block a few times to try to find a place to park. We were the first ones there, even helped him write the flavors on the white board.

I will forever be a Treatbot Fan. great flavors, great fun.

The first thing you need to know is that I have an oreo problem.  Anything that tastes like, looks like, or rhymes with oreo, I slap some peanut butter on that sucker and eat first, ask questions later.

The 408 flavor at Treatbot is caramel ice cream with oreo cookies in it.  And you can get it in an ice cream sandwich between two peanut butter cookies for $4.  Or two scoops in a waffle cone for $4.  It's some of the best ice cream I've ever had, it's probably the exact flavor I would invent myself if I could, and it's definitely affordable.

Basically, all of my edible dreams are just driving around the Bay Area.  This truck made the move here worthwhile.

Dear Treatbot...your concept is so simple and there's nothing new about it but I love you so.

Why?  Because I can get flavors like horchata and ube/taro.  First time I tried treatbot I got the horchata since i'm in love with it.  For a waffle cone you get two very generous scopes.  Second time was just last night to Milipitas Street Eats and I got the ube/taro just one scoop for $3.  It seems so simple...ice cream but I love ice cream with a passion and this place just "gets me."

Yes, some people may say it's pricey for ice cream but I'd like to know where they get taro ice cream on the go? 'Nough said.

Life is short, so I ate my dessert first!

Had the Black Marble Raspberry ice cream - just one scoop, that's all I needed to get my Treatbot fix.

Their ice cream is so creamy and delicious.  The 408 is quite delicious too, but when in the mood for something fruity and creamy, you gotta try the Black Marble Raspberry!

I was going to grab some food from the Soulnese but they were closed so then I got ice cream from here instead.  I wanted to carefully choose what I was going to get but I didn't want to hold them up because I know they were getting to leave so I got the mexican chocolate, which is pretty much chocolate with cinnamon in it.  The chocolate was pretty rich and the kick of cinnamon was just right, not too much or less.  It was $3 a scoop.  I wanted to try the horchata one but they didn't have any that night! Can't wait to try all the other flavors!

Saw this truck at the MVBLfeast and I knew this was the place for dessert! I really wanted an ice cream sandwich but because I had an early dinner, went for the child's size apple pie ice cream ($3).

The ice cream was smooth and soft and the apple chunks and pie crust was the right amount of sweetness! The child size was a generous amount as well. Loved it!

I tried their Pumpkin flavored ice cream, it was delicious! It taste like a pumpkin pie. My ice cream scoop was really cold but not icy. I didn't have to worry too much about it melting. The consistency was rich and creamy. I want more pumpkin ice cream.

Don't be shy to ask for samples. They're really friendly about it.

I wish they packed pints and half gallons for togo.

Such luck I had tonight!  While we were driving on Calavaras/237, we spotted a small food truck gathering in a parking lot and Treatbot was there!  The line was not long and finally we got to try the 408 and Hochata.  I have to say that despite all the buzz about hochata and how interesting it sounds, 408 is much better with a strong and creamy flavor.  The order comes with a waffle bowl, $4 with 2 scoops.  I am not that impressed with the waffle bowl though, maybe because it's not warm.

I just came from our food truck Friday - in Pleasanton, by the Macy's mall, from 11-2 - this place is awesome.

I was going to do my usual - boring old Vanilla - but the guy at the truck convinced me to try the 408 - on Oatmeal Raisin - I didn't seem him directly sprinkle the crack on it, but that's the only explanation for how good it tasted.

Cool service, great food, reasonably priced - what more can you ask for?

Treatbot sells artisan ice cream of sorts. i.e. they make their own. about 10 flavors were posted. 3 kinds of cookies.

locale: union city street eats (9/22)

menu: sandwich (cookie on top and bottom, ice cream  scoop in middle)4, waffle cup (4, 2 scoops) children's cup (3, 1 scoop)

Licks: mexican chocolate, and horchata (waffle cup, 4)
-scoops were small, flavors not intense, ice cream just creamy, not premium. overall pricey.

    creamings:
-cream in berkeley sells sammies at 2 with twice the ice cream, more flavorful too.
    -friendly, fast service
-good choice if you really need it, or with $4, you can buy an whole 1/2 gallon of ice cream at walmart a few steps over.
-not a karaoke fan, can't carry a tune.

My 'cutting out sugar' is the equivalent of a smoker who claims to have quit, but still bums a stogie from friends, neighbors & strangers occasionally. My version of 'giving up sugar' is like a guy saying, 'but we only kissed! That's not cheating!'

Basically, I won't go out of my way to purchase sugary treats (like I used to) but if someone is offering or I can get it for free, I ain't sayin' no. It's not cheating if I just have a little, itty bitty taste. (Reminder to self: if the scale isn't moving, re-read last sentence & I'll know why.)

A few nights ago, we (me & my three peeps) found The Treatbot truck at a strip mall on Snell in San Jo. The guys took over the truck's karaoke machine in a feeble attempt to gain a score high enough (90) to earn a free scoop. NSYNC & Michael Jackson never sounded so good!

Four stars for a bright, fun truck, gracious employees & their samples of black marble raspberry ice cream!

Treatbot, the karaoke ice cream truck of the future. This truck is family owned. Treatbot offers ice cream served in a cup, on a cone, in between 2 cookies of your choice. Sometimes the flavors rotate, but you'll always find something you'll like.

First time I tried Treatbot, I fell in love with it.

*5 STARS FOR HORCHATA ICE CREAM!! Never fails me.
*Vanilla, not so great -- no flavor.
*408, my second favorite but last time I got it, it was very soft and melted.

I have yet to come back and try their other flavors! And an ice cream sandwich perhaps when my sweet tooth kicks in.

Cons: menu offerings changes daily (I only want chocolate dream or anything chocolate-related) and the fact that this truck accepts cash only.

Pros: friendly service, quick ass service, quality and yummy tasting ice cream!

I was their first customer last Saturday at Moveable Feast during lunch. I quickly browsed their menu and saw "Chocolate Dream" so that was a no brain-er for me.. of course I ordered that! For 2 scoops you can pick and choose 2 different ice cream flavors or pick just one for the double on a cone for just $3! If you want an ice cream sandwich, it's just $4 which to me is a tad pricey however, if their chocolate chip cookies are freshly, softly baked, and huge then I wouldn't mind the price.. I'll have to try it next time and see for myself.

The guys that took my order was extremely friendly and was quick (of course, I was their only customer at that time) but as soon as my ice cream was handed to me, it looked too good to be eaten.. I think it was chocolate w/ chocolate syrup mixed in it.. it was rich, creamy, but not overpoweringly sweet (although I would not mind that at all). I licked the entire thing in less than 5 minutes. If it weren't for my slow ass metabolism, I would have ordered another cone!

    Overall?  Yummy, yummy, yummy.

Finally found this place by luck!

The ice cream is definitely not the best I've had but it was satisfying. We got a scoop of 2 flavors: banana nut fudge and marble raspberry. The marble raspberry was better. The banana nut fudge was strange because I tasted the chewy nut and fudge but no banana. It was really tasteless. Altogether it was only $3!

The service here was really good only because there were all of these screaming high school kids. It was surprising how much the people working here kept their cool when high school kids starting shrieking how embarrassing karaoke was.

I ask you, United Kingdom. What on earth is wrong with you? First of all, why don't we partake in this exotically cinnamony cookie known as the snickerdoodle? Secondly, why don't we wedge mounds of ice cream between cookies and call it a treat? And finally, why in the name of all that is good and holy don't we COMBINE THIS WITH KARAOKE?!?

Several things I learned from my experience with Treatbot...
    1) It's not actually any kind of robot, like the one from Rocky IV. (Happy Birthday Paulie.)
    2) A snickerdoodle doesn't contain Snickers. It's a cookie of cinnamon-based brilliance.
    3) Ice cream and cookies are very sexy food bedfellows.
    4) Emi H of Honolulu has an exceptional singing voice!

I opted for a classic choc chip cookie alongside a snickerdoodle with a scoop of 'Bolllywood Pistachio' in between. Oh my, what an ice cream. With the right level of sweet spice and not a scarily artificial colour, proper pistachio chunks peppered throughout... this was a snack worth singing for. And the sheer bible of karaoke song choices was simply mind-blowing.

$3 for 2 scoops- so worth it!

Have tried a variety of flavors (banana almond fudge, ube, the 408, coffee, coconut pineapple) here due to both Dishcrawl and the times I've seen it at SJ eats and loved it all.

Does anyone actually use the karaoke in this karaoke/ice cream truck? Does it really matter? Just the fact that the option is there is genius. I recently had the pleasure of learning of the Treatbot truck at a work event and I was really impressed. At first it seemed like a bit of a knockoff of the Coolhaus truck in LA with its make-it-yourself ice cream cookie sandwich deal, but I was delighted to find that they also had a cone and cup option. Sometimes you just want a classic ice cream experience, and the cookies aren't always great.

I had a hard time choosing my flavor but the very smiley, friendly lady behind the counter suggested peach cobbler and I was very glad I went with her advice. It was fruity, crumbly, and absolutely delicious, and the cone was nice and crunchy... I hate a stale cone!!

I hope to run into them again as they featured a lot of flavors that tickled my fancy. I had a taste of someone else's oreo mint and was almost sad I didn't go for that. They also had horchata and some other fun flavors including 'old school vanilla,' which I have to admit I crave once in a while.

I thought everyone working there seemed really nice and patient with a mob of fatasses waiting to get their ice cream fix (including me). What's not to love about this truck?!

    Knock, Knock...
    Who's There...
    I scream....
    I scream who?
I scream for KARAOKE & ICE CREAM!!!!!

I have heard about amazing upscale ice cream trucks in others cities but this was my first experience with one. Now I need someone in Orlando to unveil one so my life can be complete.

Upon approaching, I thought it was just ice cream as everyone was walking away with a cone or bowl and then I saw options of cookies to make an ice cream sandwich, is there any other way?

I went with the chocolate chip cookies and then asked for the favorite ice cream which was something along the lines of the 420 ice cream... vanilla and caramel with oreo cookie pieces... I think... don't quote me, I was a bottle and a half of wine in. When that hit my lips, the softness of the cookies, the deliciousness of the ice cream... WOW! I was in dessert heaven.

And yes, they have Karaoke... I am sure it helps with lines and it's just fun to watch or if you are brave, sing!

I really need one in Orlando... please! Lucky San Frans!!!

BooYah!! God damn!! What better way to finish your meal in the 95 degree heat than with a fresh, homemade ice dream sandwich for dessert???

I visited the Treatbot truck at the SJ Eats Feast this Saturday, and left very pleased! I had the "408" ice cream (caramel ice cream, fudge swirls, crush Oreo) in between a chocolate chip and a chocolate chocolate chip cookie. The cookies were warm, the chips melting - and the ice cream was fantastic.

Highly recommended! A real treat, and in the hot weather - even better! 5-stars!

Karaoke and ice cream...such a brilliant idea!

I don't even have a twitter, so I find myself googling theirs just to see where they are at for the day.

I am willing to travel the distance for their 408. *droooool*
I've also had the horchata, vanilla and mango. All good, but still does not take 408's number one spot in my heart.
Sampled the lavender before. Worker guy: "So...what do you think?" Me: "Umm...iss kooo..." Worker guy: "Tastes like soap, huh? =/" Me: "Yes...yes it does."

I would rather go get treatbot at their random spots, as opposed to the food truck meet ups (ex. Movable Feast). I don't mind waiting...but not THAT long.

Interesting flavors, large portions, affordable prices. All in the setting of someone singing (often not so well, but who am I to judge) to Treatbot's mobile karaoke machine! When it gets dark, they turn on some colorful lights, and it's just a flurry of alcoholic beverages away from it being a real hot spot.

I love their horchata and mango slice ice cream. The horchata tastes like it should, cinnamon-y and horchata-y (for a lack of better words). The mango slice ice cream was a nice surprise. It tasted like they made their ice cream with whole pieces of Philippines brand dried mango slices. I know, right? Hella good. My scoop was chock full of them, and it was slice of heaven in a cup. Yum!

There are some misses though, like the Gilroy garlic and almond monstrosity. I haven't had garlic ice cream before, and maybe I'm just not a connoisseur of the stinking rose in my cup, but it just tasted wrong on so many levels. I was lost for words. Every ice cream place has its misses though, and I'm willing to look pass them based on the good.

So Treatbot, you had me at Treat. :)

LOVED their ice-cream, hated that I didn't know it was a Karaoke truck to begin with. Where were was my rendition of 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'?

Sigh. Oh well, at least the ice cream was delicious, I had a hefty portion of Taro (Ube) and another portion of Horchata. My Asian-Latin fusion ice cream was super creamy, had tons of flavor and probably worth all the millions of calories.

Definitely want to try the 408, Mexican Chocolate and the Marble Raspbery one the in the future. So many flavor combos, so little time. :)

Got to try these guys free at an event where some real estate agents seem to have make a terrible mistake in judgement regarding the overlap between the population segment that likes free ice cream and the population segment that wants to spend many hundreds of thousands on a brand new condo down by the train tracks.

    Anyway.

A more kind and friendly ice cream truck I have rarely encountered - and they let us try out lots of flavors before we decided on about four scoops including a very tempting blackberry swirl thing.  For reasons that still remain unclear, my HUGE scoops of ice cream decided to launch themselves from the cone and into the air mere moments after I started trying to eat it.  I ended up with very sticky hands and a big stain on my chest, but at least the ice cream was saved.

It's good ice cream, though not up to gourmet standards in terms of clarity of flavor and silkiness of texture.  They're not the fastest at scooping, but they are nice guys, and hey - it's ice cream!  From a truck!

Treatbot? Huh? Karaoke Ice Cream Truck? Is this for real?

Yes, it's for real. Treatbot thought outside the box and managed to combine my love of karaoke and ice cream into one truck. How. Freaking. Awesome. Now excuse me while I try conceal my boner.

According to their website, Treatbot is the "Karoake Ice Cream Truck from the Future." Unfortunately, while the ice cream is so good it seems as if it's from the future, the karaoke machine they use is so dated; it made me want to go home and grab my wooden club, hunt for a small dinosaur, and try to invent fire.

The Karaoke Machine: The karaoke machine has a very limited song selection. The crumpled song book is maybe 10 pages long. You input the song by number using the microphone. All of the songs sound kind of weird as if they are coming from a Nintendo. It looked and felt like something my Filipino neighbors would have had bought in 1978 and sold it for $5 in a garage sale in 1994. The thing is a questionable antique. In other words, it's a piece of junk.

The Karaoke Experience: My voice is limited and not that impressive, but coupled with my stage presence, I have been able to win karaoke competitions and appeared on the cover the Metro for my karaoke prowess. Please allow ego to deflate a moment so I can continue typing this review...

Anyway, I figured it would be fun to try to score a 90 on a song so I could win a free ice cream. I selected a Billy Idol's "White Wedding," which is a fairly easy song to sing (for me). I can score well over 90 on high difficulty settings on Rock Band. On this machine, I barely registered a 50. I tried again with a Filipino accent and scored a 94. Okay, I am totally kidding. But the thought crossed my mind.

The Ice Cream Truck: Treatbot is painted a bright red and has a large opening to order from. The staff is really friendly and helpful. And they don't even laugh that hard at you when you try to sing and score past a 90. Then again, La Novia was laughing hard enough they probably felt bad for me.

The Ice Cream Experience: For those that don't know, Treat Ice Cream, which is the brand of ice cream Treatbot uses, is the greatest ice cream on the planet. It's better than Mitchell's. Trust.

I went ahead and ordered my favorite Treat Ice Cream flavor, which is "Tin Roof Sundae." They shoved a huge scoop of that in between two fat chocolate chip cookies. Oh. My. God. I was in heaven.

In the end, the karaoke machine is a bit too old school, but I made the most of it, gave La Novia a good laugh, and enjoyed some great ice cream in the process.

    I'm a fan.

In an effort to control my portion size, I got 1 scoop for $2.50 instead of 2 scoops for $3.  Got ripped off huh?  Damn it.

The funniest thing about this truck is probably the karaoke.  You have to get a whopping score of 90 to get free ice cream which doesn't surprise me because it's totally the Asian thing to require impossible standards to get something free.  It's equivalent to saying "bring in your SAT score of 1600 (or is it out of 10,000 now?) to get a free spoonful of ice cream."

I saw a girl sing "Confessions" by Usher only to get a 10 and walk away saying "What the heck.  I did really good!"  Oh no you didn't.  Then I saw another guy attempt R. Kelly's "I believe I can fly" to get a 75 and receive no reward whatsoever!  It takes balls to sing in front of everyone and be scored while doing so.

There are some really ambiguous names like "Amber's Favorite" or "Chocolate Dream" and you're not 100% sure what's in it so expect to spend some time asking.  I decided to get the Mango Slice which is mango ice cream with mango slices.  Yup, slices not chunks.  I swear they just got rigged a bag of Philippines' dried mangoes from Costco and shoved these pieces in the ice cream.  There were slices that took an entire mouthful to eat.   The ice cream itself is really really creamy.

If you're in the mood for something more fancy, they also offer the option for you to build your own ice cream sandwich.  When I went, they only had oatmeal raisin cookies and unfortunately, this only goes with certain ice cream flavors.  And it's also gigantic so please share.

I wouldn't go hunting for this place on Twitter or in person but if it's around and the weather is right, I might get a bite.

Friends, lovers, lend me your ears! Tis I, Ranier, the Ice Cream King!

    *Knock-knock*

WHO GOES THERE?! SPEAK UP, YOUNG BOY! WHAT IS THY NAME?!

    "Tis I, Treatbot!"

Treatbot? TREATBOT, YOU SAY?! Come hither, boy! Show me your ways!

    ****Consistency*****

I don't know about you guys, but the consistency of Treatbot's Ice Cream really bothers me. It reminds me of that cheap shit you get from the supermarket. Not Dryers, but the Sunnyselect brand. The one your Grandma has been storing in the freezer since the Bush Administration.

The consistency is overly creamy, but not in the way that Gelato is creamy. It's creamy as if it were thickened by whipped cream, or some kind of cheap filler.

    *****Horchata Flavor******

You see, Horchata can come in many different forms. It can be too sweet, too diluted, too grainy, or it can have too much cinnamon. With the Horchata Ice Cream at Treatbot, you get a mix of too much cinnamon and too much sweetness.

I know that sounds kinda dumb since it is Ice Cream, but it really doesn't capture the true spirit of GOOD Horchata. Good Horchata should taste refreshing - this is overwhelming.

Eating this ice cream feels like you're sipping on the bottom half of a cup of Horchata (where all the rice grains have sifted towards the bottom.) NO ME GUSTA!

    ****Banana Almond Fudge****

Hmmm... It tastes like Banana, the fudge is kinda gooey, and I can taste the almonds. Yay! The flavor is actually pretty good! Unfortunately, the consistency just dumbs it down and you're left with frozen baby food sprinkled with banana, fudge, and almonds.

Remember back in the days (aka, 2 years ago) when the Bay Area got jizzed on with a slew of Frozen Yogurt shops? Well, a handful of those shops got closed down.

Why? It's simple: the flavors were good, but the consistency was shit. You can't - I repeat - YOU CAN NOT SELL ICE CREAM/FROZEN YOGURT WITH CRAPPY CONSISTENCY! It's like a stripper with a nice body, but horrible dance moves.

    DANCE TREATBOT, DANCE!

    I give Treatbot a 2.8 out of 5.

Treatbot, A Karaoke Ice Cream Truck from the Future--CHECK! Now it's officially off of my to-try-before-I-die-list!

I tracked the Treatbot truck down via Facebook and I saw that they were going to be around my hood for dinner time. I didn't want to risk standing in any long lines, so I tried to make it there right at 6pm, which was when they were scheduled to arrive. I arrived a little after 6pm and there was no line.

I knew right away that I wanted to try their ice cream sandwich, so I ordered the sandwich with Bollywood pistachio ice cream sandwiched between an almond Joe cookie and oatmeal raisin cookie. The $4 ice cream sandwich was humungous, which was great; however, the Bollywood pistachio had a hint of some spice/herb that I did not think complimented the pistachio very well. I think it was mustard or coriander. Whatever it was, it was no bueno. My friend got two scoops of ice cream in a cup for $3--mango slice and raspberry sorbet. My favorite was definitely the mango slice flavor. There were sweet mango chunks blended into the creamy ice cream, that melted in my mouth. YUM!

They had an LCD TV, where patrons could sing karaoke for free ice cream. The catch is that you have to score a 90 or better! If you're tone deaf, please do us all a favor and fork up the money and stay away from that microphone! The karaoke idea is fun, but other than that, Treatbot did not woo me. They were just alright.

eek EEK EEEEEEEEEEK! I finallly got my hands on an ice cream sandwich.  I have been following their facebook posts for about a week and a half now.  Every time they were at a location, I either had work or had prior engagements at night.  Last night:  FINALLY, an opportunity to be united!

There was a line already formed by the time I got there.  The wait was about 30 minutes although it seemed longer since I've been anticipating all day.  There were some flavors that I have never tried so I asked for a little sample before I made my decision.  I have been waiting for a while, I wanted to make the right choice!.  I sampled Ube which is a purple yam ice cream.  PRETTY PURPLEEEEEEEE.  It had a creamy milky taste.  I went with horchata ice cream on a snickerdoodle.  Delicious cinnamon overload.  I love cinnamon Ice cream.  If I could go back, I would have went with the oatmeal raisin cookie.  The cookie did not taste very fresh but still good.  The watermelon sorbet tasted like watermelon jolly rancher.  I did not have the 408 but I think it has fudge and caramel swirl.

Oh, if you have a score of 90+ on karaoke, you get a free scoop of ice cream.  Someone became the first winner ever when i was there.  They still had to wait in the long line for the free scoop. HAHAHA

Treatbot, the Karaoke Ice Cream Truck...hmmm. I have had Treatbot 3x now and the ice cream is pretty good. I usually get the 408 which is caramel ice cream with caramel ribbons AND oreo cookies. Everything is good with oreo cookies!

Treatbot comes to my work once a week and my coworkers usually "force" me to go get ice cream with them :-).
We usually go right when they arrive to avoid the long line. The first 2x, the karaoke machine wasn't working so that was disappointing. The 3rd time, the machine was working but the equipment reminds me of my parents 1st karaoke system from the early 90's. I saw a guy trying to start it up but he gave up after several attempts. Oh well, maybe next time I'll get to sing Crazy for you by Madonna to score 90 pts or higher and get 1 free scoop.

The one area that needs improvement is the customer service. The 2 guys that are in the truck are super nice but one dude has such a hard time remembering anything. I had to tell him 3-4x what flavor I wanted, how many scoops, and if I wanted a cone or cup. I thought he was kidding but seriously each time he turned away from me, he forgot what my order was. I saw that he did the same thing to a few other ppl...haha.
