Fantastic place. I went there for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Very reasonable prices. The crab cakes were outstanding and the prime was amazing. We had the chocolate truffle cake for dessert and seriously went into food overload.
I would highly recommend this restuarant for lunch or dinner. They boast a fantastic wine list. Best steakhouse. I HIGHLY recommend. -

Went there FEB, valentines day.. just getting around to it. I guess it is closed ??!? . I can see why. The decor was standard, the steakhouse had nothing to set it apart, maybe the wine list.
Service was standard, no fresh plates, no table scrape, service like olive garden. The meat however was top notch
The sides are small, and had to be frozen bag. I know when I taste Green Giant veggies ok, this were cooked but no flavor and rubbery...just like frozen bag. I ordered the green beans if your were wondering.
The Mac N Cheese was original and tasted great.
Over all, it was an ok place, nothing to boast about. Not worth the price on the menu. -

What a delightful experience!
The boyfriend took me here for our one year anniversary. I've been eyeing this place for awhile now so I was so happy with his choice!
The atmosphere is awesome. It's casual but nice... they had a live pianist playing classical music. When he was done, they played soft music from Michael Buble. LOVED IT!
I knew I was going to have me some steak so I wanted red wine. I don't drink wine that often so I wasn't sure which one I wanted but I knew I wanted a pinot noir. The waiter let me have a taste between 2 and I was happy to choose the one I wanted!
We didn't get an appetizer - they didn't look too special. We opted to get more side dishes to fill us up. I ordered the 6 oz prime filet with the sea bass - surf and turf!!! The bf ordered the prime ribeye. Both were yummy! I actually liked his ribeye better because the outside had a sweet crispy crusting to it. Both steaks were cooked perfectly to our liking. We both had a dipping sauce - the fig sauce and the peppercorn gorgonzola. I was actually surprised the fig sauce was cold but I still liked it. For our sides, we had creamed spinach which was fresh with a light lemony flavor to it, lobster mashed potatoes, and bacon mac & cheese. The sides were good but they got cold fast (my real only complaint). The fish was delish and the risotto was yummy!
The manager came by to check up on us and our waiter was extremely attentive! Since it was our anniversary, they gave us complimentary champagne and a free dessert. We originally wanted the Bananas Foster but the waiter said the chef didn't like the quality of the bananas. Wow, really? The chef really certainly has high standards! We went for our second choice - Peanut Butter Oreo Ice Cream Bomb. I'm not a big fan of peanut butter but it did not overpower. The dessert was actually a light ice cream cake.
The food and experience was wonderful but if it were up to me, I would probably not dine here again. There are so many other steak houses to try! I do high suggest you trying it once to to cross it off your list. -

After seeing a couple billboards with Dallas Morning News giving it 4 stars, I was expecting a lot.
When you walk in, immediately you're hit with the aroma of grilling meat. Yum. The dark and moody lighting makes for a romantic atmosphere. We were greeted by the hostess after she was done flirting with a regular sitting at the table right behind the stand. She was pleasant, and took us to a large booth that had a view of the entire floor and kitchen.
There was some loud music playing -- which turned out to be live music -- a man and a keyboard. He sang every cheesy Broadway song I ever wanted to hear, plus some Celine Dion -- I actually enjoyed hearing Phantom of the Opera with a jazzy overtones haha. My boyfriend, well, he did not.
After being seated, and asked if we wanted water.. we were given dinner menus to look over. Five minutes later, we got finally some water and a wine list.
I ordered the calamari to start with our bottle of wine. We always like to judge an Italian place by its fried calamari. It's hard to get just right -- sometimes it's over battered, rubbery, obviously frozen prebattered and reheated.. here, it was pretty good -- not the best though. I did enjoy how they also fried up pickled artichoke hearts, cherry tomatoes, and cherry peppers with it too. Changes it up a bit.
He ordered the Rib-eye, and I had the Sea bass (pan seared, topped with mussels, Italian sausage & velvet saffron tomato broth). We also ordered a side of the Citrus Risotto. After reading the other reviews listed, I'm sad that our waiter failed to mention their unique dipping sauces. He knew it was our first time too. Boo.
---- Side note -- In my opinion as a former server in fine dining industry, I had a feeling that because we chose a wine in the lower end of the $$$ spectrum, he didn't care too much about giving us the best service. Also, we were his last table of the night. It wasn't that late though, 8:30ish. He forgot about us more than a few times, though there was only one other table on the floor and not in his section.
Any who, the rib-eye came out -- perfectly medium rare like we ordered. There was more fat marbling than expected -- but hey, it's a rib-eye. We've had tons of steaks throughout Dallas, since my mother loves having weekly steak dinners -- and this one wasn't that great. The cut looked sorta dainty and thin even though it was supposed to be 16oz. My sea bass entree was great.. perfectly cooked and flaky with a crispy seared top. It's hard not to mess up cooking such an oily fish -- but I've seen it done. The mussels were also well cooked and not rubbery at all. The saffron tomato broth brought it all together. I didn't really care for the Italian sausage -- mostly since the saffron and tomato drowned it out.
Both the dishes were good -- though not something I'd clutch to my grumbling tummy and crave. The risotto was perfect. I think the best risotto I've had in the in DFW area. It was perfectly al dente, creamy without being too rich, and hearty. Savory and citrus -- my favorite combination. It was a huge portion too -- compared to several other steakhouses.
We finished everything except the risotto -- so we gave it to the server to box. After some miscommunication and apologies (another server took it and began to dump the crumbs off our table into the dish), they ordered us a new risotto dish to box up.
Finally, we ordered dessert -- first the Tre Brulee (pistachio, chocolate, vanilla). A few minutes later he tells us they're out of it. Then we changed it to the Chocolate Truffle Cake (topped with double chocolate mouse). They were out of that also... so the server suggested the Spumoni (ice cream made of port wine cherries and candied pistachios) -- I'm assuming this is the only dessert they had left.
It was okay, again, nothing to crave.
After paying $160something for 2, I wasn't impressed by the 4 stars. Maybe it's because we look young.. b/c didn't order a bottle of wine more than $60... b/c we came after the dinner rush.. or maybe I'm just reading into things --- but our experience was just okay.
I don't think I'd go back there again -- only because there's nothing unique about it except the decor. -

*UPDATE*** WT Greer is no longer playing here! =( He's currently performing in Hawaii and will return to Dallas in October (although it's not certain whether or not he will return to Tre Ameci) ***
This has to be one of the best fine dining experiences I've ever had in my life. Seriously! From the moment we walked through the front doors, we were impressed beyond our highest expectations.
The restaurant is very dimly lit. Like, straight up dark. It took awhile for my eyes to adjust, but once they did, it was beautiful. Candle-lit tables and soft lighting from modern chandeliers gave the restaurant a very classy and romantic vibe. Speaking of romantic, there's a live pianist/singer every night from Tues-Saturday. After being mesmerized by a few songs, I had to ask the server who this guy was. She told me his name was W.T. Greer, and that people love him. It wasn't hard to see why. She told me that a lot of people come in just to hear him sing and play. He was amazing and we knew almost every song he sang by heart. It only made the atmosphere even more romantic.
I had heard that this place had good meatballs. Kobe meatballs. Now, I love Kobe and although I don't think it should ever be ground up and cooked all the way through, I had to try these. They are an entree, but I had heard that you could order it as an appetizer for $10 less. I did, but maybe the waitress didn't get what I was doing. So we got an entree as an appetizer, oops. The Kobe meatballs ($25) are served on a pile of angel hair pasta and a tomato sauce. Three, big, succulent meatballs sit atop and were delicious. They don't put a whole lot into the seasoning and that's fine, because you want to enjoy and savor every bit of that Kobe on it's own.
I ordered the 16oz. NY Strip steak ($38) and my wife ordered the 9oz. Filet Mignon ($36). Both of us ordered it the only way we love our steaks - rare. Each steak is served with a dollop of their lobster mashed potatoes. We also ordered a couple of sides: creamy risotto ($8) and the truffle french fries ($8). The risotto was our favorite. It was cooked to perfection - not too mushy but not too firm for our taste. Cooked in a rich and creamy sauce. Oh so good. The french fries were unique tasting for sure. Shaved black truffles and a quick dousing of truffle oil made these fries very flavorful and although they were crisp and a bit crunchy, they melted in your mouth. Both of the steaks were amazing. My NY strip steak was a lot bigger than I had imagined, which is a good thing. They didn't baby around when I ordered it "rare" either. Some places don't risk serving their customers with really rare beef and usually cook it medium rare. Not Tre Amici. They obviously had a lot of faith in the quality of the beef they use and when I asked for it rare, they gave it to me just how I like it. Seared on all sides, and cool blue in the middle. (In my best impression of Paula Dean) Oh gawd, ya'll... My wife also found her filet perfectly rare and tenderloin was perfect. Melted in your mouth like butter. Just all around some terrific, terrific steak.
For dessert, we tried two favorites here: The Strawberry Cream Shortcake and the Lemoncello Cheesecake. Let's start with the shortcake. Three 1.5in.pieces of delicious cake, divided by a vanilla bean custard cream with fresh strawberries throughout and topped with their decadently sweet whipped cream. If that doesn't sound delicious to you, than you might as well give up now. 'Cause this is as good as it gets! The cake was moist, the cream was so rich and sweet and the whipped cream - how can I get this in bulk? I want to put it on everything I eat! The Lemoncello Cheesecake came highly recommended by our server and she did not steer us wrong! I'm not even a huge fan of cheesecake, but this was less about the cheese and more about the organic lemon they infuse into it. A big hearty slice served with their whipped cream and in a pool of "blood orange" sauce. Bonus: candied orange rinds! YES! Thin strips of orange peel, boiled and candied, then tossed in granulated sugar! YESSS!
Our server was quick, friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu and was always ready to answer any questions we had about the food, the restaurant and the pianist that was lulling us into a dream. Thank you, Sarah!
While we were digging into our desserts, a large, jovial guy in a suit came over and complimented us saying "Wow. Now you two did it right!" Haha! He introduced himself as Judd Fruia, and this was his restaurant. We told him how amazing everything had been and his smile was as big as they come in Texas. You can tell this is a man who truly takes pride in his establishment and that this is what he lives for. What a friendly and likable guy. He really made us feel welcome and now I think we're going to be regulars! Try this restaurant once, and I'm positive you will be one too! -

I visited this place for the first time yesterday. The decor is pretty standard steakhouse-ish. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary. My party of three were seated prompty. It was 7 pm and the dining room had two tables of patrons which is pretty unusal in this part of town as many of the business expensers are out during this prime time.
To our amazement, it was half price off of bottle of wine Tuesdays ....Yay! After ordering our bottle of merlot, we ordered appetizers. We had the Crab Cakes, Scallops, and Kobe Meatball. All of the appetizers were delicious so we were excited to order our entrees. I had the prime filet mignon and the others had the Prime Bone In Ribeye. The filet migon was flavorful not the most tender cut I have had but it was OK. The Bone In Ribeye was a bit tough to get through. We all agreed that the steaks were seasoned well however just missed the mark on tenderness. For dessert, we had the Vanilla Creme Brulee which was tasty, a nice finish to the meal.
I would definitely give this place another chance....especially on a Tuesday! :) -

I stopped in last week for a quick appetizer and glass of wine and probably won't stop in for dinner.. When my partner and I first sat at the bar, we waited, and waited for a bartender. I wasn't annoyed until I saw that there were 2... If you have 2 bartenders, shouldn't one stay behind the bar so they can get drinks for new guests? Maybe it's just me, but one would think that's what the boss had in mind when he scheduled 2 bartenders and they weren't even busy.
Enough of my soapbox, on to the wine and food. There wine list put me off a little because it's in plastic protector sheets, like the ones you used in school. But, wine by the glass was half off until I think 7pm, so that was nice and unexpected. Maybe that's why they use school materials to house their wine list, lol!
We ordered the ahi tuna tower and crab cakes (Which were also half off.) The crab cakes were pretty good, mostly crab, not a lot of bread filling, but the sauce they sat on was ehh, ok. There were pieces of garlic, not really minced maybe just chopped, but if you got a piece of it in the sauce with the crab cake it overpowered.
The ahi tuna tower I could have done without. It was built on a thin layer of cucumber, which was light and fresh, but then had a layer of olive tapenade and avocados, which were too heavy for the tuna I thought. Not to mention that the tuna had no seasoning, like flavored oil or spices, just the tuna. It was fresh, great tuna, but no seasoning..
Overall, it was ok. Not inspiring, just ok. Might go back for the happy hour only, but the appetizers did not inspire me to go back for dinner. -

We had dinner at Tre Amici for Valentines day. We decided on this restaurant due to the fact that there wasn't a pre set menu and the reviews made it seem great. So, the service was wonderful. Our waiter, Michael has a great personality and seemed to be very happy with his job.
The food, well, everything was good separately but as a whole it just didn't flow. The Tre Amichi salad was amazing!!! We had the sered scallops over Risotto for an appetizer and that was wonderful too.
The main course is where it missed the mark. My husband ordered the Fillet and Australian Lobster tail per the recommendation from our waiter. I order the tuna steak. Sounded fabulous but wasn't quit right. The fillet was a little over cooked as well as the Tuna. And the side that he recommended was just too heavy for the meal. We order the Risotto but it was way too much flavor. A plus, the portion size is big so you get a lot for the money.
Last was the dessert. Again, the recommendation was Chocolate Tirimisu, not on the menu but according to the waiter "heavenly". Well, not so much. In fact, when we asked the waiter if he had tried it he had said not yet but the chef said it was the best. Honestly is was not pretty looking and was a bit too rich.
Basically everything was good but a bit much. Overall, it was good, needs some improvements but worth it. Not the best in Dallas as Steak and seafood go, but could be with a little bit of tweaking.
