6 reviews for Traxx Restaurant
My wife and went there for dinner because we wanted to try it out. For the most part - it seems like a first time restaurant owner trying hard to create good food but missing the mark. For our appetizers - my wife ordered the tomato basil soup and I ordered the calamari. The soup was chunky (it needed to be pureed) and the calamari was overly fried and crunchy - like something you'd buy frozen out of a box. For the main course - my wife ordered the pecan crusted trout and I ordered the blackened tilapia with crawfish sauce. Ironically - the crawfish sauce had no crawfish and excessive amounts of butter while my wife's pecan "crusted" trout was more like a pecan pie with trout on the bottom. They went WAY overboard on "crusting" or at least they've redefined what crust means. To make things worse - I ordered green beans as one of my sides and what they brought were canned green beans. The fresh asparagus was good and so were my wife's mashed potatoes. That, unfortunately, was not enough to save the experience.
As for the service - When we walked in there were several dishes waiting to be taken to the 3 tables currently seated while the 2 waitresses were talking to some folks at the bar (not a good sign). That remained the theme for the rest of the night as each of our dishes had obviously spent some good time underneath the heat lamp. The service was definitely friendly but not prompt. This could be excused if they were busy - but there were 4 tables and 2 waitresses. We will not be returning to eat here.
Went here awhile back with a friend. Service was slow for an almost empty restaurant. Food was bland. I got the lasagna. Walking to my car, I felt a grumbling in my stomach. Bad news.
I will never go to this place again.
Went there for brunch after an early church service. Brought my dad and step-mom who were visiting. We walked in and thought it was going to be a great experience because it does look very nice. The food was total crap. And expensive crap at that. I had the eggs benedict. The hollandaise, I swear, was from a can. Or maybe a 2nd grader practicing with his fingerpaints and spilled. The eggs were overcooked. We all pretended to like it but all agreed later that night that we should have gone to McDonalds instead. Never again.
It was Asian themed restaurant Zyng. Now it's Traxx.
Almost every table has at least one child. Seems very family oriented place. The food is OK. Typical American, seafood, pasta and steak. Most entrees are around $14. I had the pecan crusted trout. My god, it was so bland. Even no salt on it. After I finished it, I found there is a small cup of sauce on the side. It's hard to tell it's the sauce, I thought it was salad dressing or something. I just felt sorry for myself. Shouldn't chef put the sauce on the fish when he cooked it?
New American style restaurant in Cedar Park Texas that isn't bad, isn't really outstanding.. They saved a 3-star rating at the last minute by honoring our coupon that they were trying to screw us out of $5 on, but the manager "saw the light" at the last moment and did the right thing.. We had the Tilapia, pecan-crusted trout, and cheeseburger. None of the dishes was outstanding, but none were bad. Prices are not cheap, not expensive with entrees around $12-13.. The service was OK, no major complaints. I just left feeling..... well, blah.. Just not excited about any one thing in particular.
Traxx has closed.
