Travelodge Culver City
3 reviews for Travelodge Culver City
We had a nice stay here. The room we were in seemed to have been recently remodeled--the bedding, furniture, shower, and furniture all seemed new. It was nice to have a safe, fridge, and microwave, and there was a sitting area with a couch and chair partitioned off from the bed.
Johnny's Pastrami, all night Mexican food, and two decent dive bars (free live music on a Wednesday night, shuffleboard) are all less than a block away.
All in all, for about $90/night, it seems like a bargain.
Well experience gives one the opportunity to rate what and where you can stay. The desk people for the most part are A OK. Yet the attitude of one of the front desk people turns me off. I called to request some pieces of clothing be returned to me. Not only where they rude but ultimately washed a new shirt to take it home for them selves. A friend went to retrieve the clothing and it was wet as it was being washed to keep for their own use. The other articles of clothing were no longer available. After my calling to make arrangements to send it back to me.
I now have a letter from the Manager Mr. Rasik Raniga, stating that his policy was to keep clothing for two weeks after a client leaves the hotel. "THIS IS AN OUT RIGHT LIE" As his people did not hold my clothing for eight hours, and utlimately washed them for their own purposes. He as the manager knew of the circumstances but lied to American Express. Don't even think of staying at this hotel! They have NO CONSIDERATION for guests.
Hmm... Seeing the bulletproof glass at the counter where you check in didn't exactly lend a feeling of security. We were in for a two-night stay during my sister's graduation from UCLA and, well, let's just say I thought about staying elsewhere for the second night.
However, we braved through the second night and, well, it wasn't too bad. Probably the best amenity, especially helpful for larger families, was the two king beds side by side in the room. I think we all slept pretty comfortably... except for the horrible pillows. The pillows, unfortunately, are the kind where after a few minutes, the pillow height drops to nothing. And you can try to adjust the pillow accordingly, but when you wake, the pillow height is again down to nothing. Frustrating.
Also, the shower doesn't drain properly... We were moved from room 315 to room 304 between the two nights but the second room's shower still had the same problem. We took turns standing in ankle deep water. Gross.
One last tip if you decide to stay here - the hot/cold lever at the sink is reversed... Just don't scald yourself (logically) thinking that cold water is coming out!
So, if you're looking for a great bargain, with the aforementioned sacrifices, this is your place... if you can overlook the bulletproof glass.
