Family Fun Center!! Woo!! Okay, so I wasn't here for family fun but rather friend fun but a lot of other families were indeed here for fun. We quickly noticed that the families in question were rather trailer-parky.  You know the type I am talking about. What gave us that idea? Well maybe the two trailer park looking girls that argued for 5 minutes about their mini golf score whilst holding up that hole so that we had to wait. Or the fact that some scraggly looking children in line for the go carts nearly got into a fist fight over who was first in line. Hmm... Lo and behold when leaving the Fun Center I noticed something directly across the street. Guess what that was??? A TRAILER PARK. No joke. True story. Aside from that I did have fun.

So Trafalga has outdoor mini-golf, go carts, batting cages, bumper boats, arcade and an indoor glow in the dark mini golf. However, when we were there the indoor mini golf and bumper boats were closed down.

The prices here are pretty darn good especially compared to Boston.  For just the mini golf it was $5.50. For one time around the go cart course was $3.00 (which is a little pricey). But they have an unlimited pass for $12 in which you can golf, go cart, and use the batting cages as much as you like. The pass costs $12.

They have 2 outdoor mini golf courses that you can choose from.  We only did one course, and although lots of fun (as mini golf usually is) it is pretty standard. Hills, bumps, windmills etc... Our balls got stuck inside a castle at one hole which was pretty annoying.  Even though there was nothing unique about the course we still had fun.

I have never been on a go cart before. Yes it is true. They scare the crap out of me for some reason.  I think it is the tight corners at high speeds. Well, there was a group of kids here who would go on the course then immediately get back in line. They were rambunctious and the staff was pretty stern with them about breaking the rules.  The staff didn't look to be too much older than the kids, but they were laying the smack down on these kids. Which was good cause the kids were obnoxious.
Whilst waiting in line a guy (adult guy) informed us that just a little while ago, somebody didn't stop their car at the end of the race, hit another car, and then ran over the leg of a girl that was outside of her car (which was really really stupid on her part). Her leg was pinned under the go cart.  Great. Just what I need to hear.
I survived but I tell you this. I stayed to the outside so I could make the absolute widest turns and I was gripping the wheel so tight that my knuckles hurt. The kids on that course were brutal.
I didn't see the appeal to go carting so I only went around once.

As with go carts I have never been to a batting cage.  Can't be that bad right? It is just hitting some balls (eh. That sounds dirty!! Yay!). I picked the slow soft balls and thought that sounded pretty girly. WRONG.  I was hitting the balls alright. But it hurt my hand so freakin bad.  The force of the bat hitting the ball reverberated through my hand and arm.  I still have the little blood blister this caused me. It was so painful I stopped before my 50 balls was up. So note to self: mini golf= fun. Batting cages and go carts = lame.

The arcade was kinda lame too.  Half the games didn't work and ate our tokens.  They had tons and tons of  the same games but in different versions. We had to try hard to use up our tokens.
However, fun is what you make of it and I had great company (Melba!) which made it a fun time.

Oh where to start? When you're living in Utah County, there aren't many great options as to where to spend your 25th birthday. Today, I spent it at Red Robin and Trafalga. Both are now considered regrets in my eyes. Leaving out the disappointment that resulted from Red Robin, we'll concentrate on the inadequacies of Trafalga. The first review of this place was EXTREMELY generous in awarding three stars.

I'm used to the Family Fun Centers in California that actually abide by health codes, so it was a bit of a shock to come here. The arcade area is really dark and cramped, and a bunch of the machines are broken down. The prize redeeming area contains the crappiest of crappy prizes. Granted, you don't have high expectations here, but seriously? That crappy kaleidoscope! Broke before I even got it in my hands! I digress...

There is an indoor mini golf course, but it looks more like a trip on acid. I didn't even want to attempt going on that course, so we decided to do some golf outside and then go to the batting cages. Okay, the chick working at the little booth SUCKED. She had no concept of time and paid no attention to the growing line of people waiting to make a simple transaction for so-called "fun". Each group of people took forever to get through, and by the time we got there I was really ready to just go home. But we went mini golfing anyway. We should have left while we were ahead. So you may not have high expectations in the first place when it comes to putt putt courses, but this was really dreadful. Each hole was in crappy shape, and there are friggin' make-shift ponds everywhere. And what does that mean during the summer? Friggin' mosquitos EVERYWHERE! I couldn't ward those things off - simply no relief. What's worse was the lights never turned on, so we ended up playing golf in the dark. It really made the entire experience more frustrating than enjoyable. Oh, and one of the holes was flooded. Flooded! Seriously? Like the review before mine - trailer park. Not only do some of the people who come here demonstrate this, but the place itself looks like a trailer park.

There used to be a pizza place attached to Trafalga, but was closed down last year. Now it's just a boarded up building on the property, adding to the trailer park description even more. It was just really surprising how run-down the place looks. When we came back to get our bats and helmets for the batting cages, we told them about the lights. Turns out that they had blown a fuse LAST WEEK, but still didn't tell us about the fact that they KNEW we would be playing golf in the dark. Seriously? We did get a free round of mini golf out of it, but quite honestly, I won't be coming back. It was not a good experience. I thought that the batting cages would be somewhat enjoyable, but even this didn't bring me some joy on my birthday. The friggin' bats are so old and worn that there is no grip, so you feel everything on that bad. My hands were killing me after like five balls. Ridiculous.

I'm seriously so disappointed with this place. I thought it could at least earn three stars, but there is no way that I want to come back there. The workers are incompetent, the facilities are exceptionally old dilapidated, and the "fun" they provide is all but that. Oh, and the friggin' restroom was nasty. Now I understand that stenches are often the results of the users, however this was simply the smell of an old, unclean restroom.

Not a good way to spend your money!

Quick update:
So remember how I mentioned the mosquitos around the still water on the mini golf course? Yeah, I woke up with six HUGE bites. Are you kidding me? http://static.px.yelp.... Keep in mind this picture does not do the bites justice!
