I recently came here for an amazing wedding. I stayed at Traditions for a total of 4 nights.

The first thing I have to say is that they had the most comfortable beds ever. The next thing I remembered was that the staff was incredibly helpful. When my friends and I needed recommendations on where to get drunk in town they knew exactly where to send us.

The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because they didn't have a pool.

    Highly recommended.

overlooking Binghamton the countryclub/inn-esque Traditions also offers a Sunday brunch. I was with my colleage professor & was given a seniors discount of $13.95 for the brunch & $3 extra for the bloody Mary/Mimosa. The omelette was superb, and I agree with the other reviewer that you shd probably skip the mediocre scrmabled eggs/sausage/stuffed French toast and go straight to the omelette station. Coffee was very much diner-grade coffee, but our serveur was attentive. Oveall a pleasant experience.

How to rate them???  I've had lunches here, that were fabulous.  Their pastries have always been good.  I love that Traditions is here, they have a spa, it's a beautiful setting..

Breakfast is okay...Don't bother with the scrambled eggs, home-fries or sausage.  Have them make you an omelet, their fresh mini waffles or a blueberry pancake.  Don't waste your appetite on the other items.  Coffee, juice, fresh fruit and their yummy pastries are included.  For the price, their brunch is okay.  It's not as grand a brunch as other places might offer, but it's $15.00, too.

I'm writing to review the Sunday brunch only; I haven't stayed at the hotel yet.  (But my husband gets his hair cut at the Traditions Spa and is always pleased with that.)

    Anyway...

Sunday brunch.  $15.95 a person (adults), $2 extra for a (small) Bloody Mary or a mimosa.  (Not bad!)  Coffee and juice, etc., included in the price.

Brunch = yummy.  There were a fair amount of people when we went around noon, including groups and families.  There's an omelet station where a chef - who calls everyone from small girls to octogenarians "young lady" - constructs your egg creation with ham and/or mushrooms and/or spinach and/or feta and/or crabmeat.  You get the picture.  It's all good.  There was a ham carving station.  And a few Belgian waffle makers.  And a griddle for French toast.

I didn't get the French toast, but my guy didn't think they served pure maple syrup.  Being a Vermonter, this is a very sizable black mark, but I'll live.

On the sideboard, there were plenty of sternos with other breakfast goodies, all or most of which I saw refilled by the waitstaff.  Lyonnaise potatoes, Eggs Benedict, bacon, sausage, corned beef hash.  And then there was another sideboard with bagels and fruit breads.  But why would you waste time on that?

Get the money food, people.  Money foods do not include bagels.

Service was a little weird.  They seemed a bit discombobulated that we didn't make a reservation, despite the array of empty tables.   We got our drink orders taken within seconds, in any case.

We were a little confused about the check.  Our waiter seemed to hover around, and we tried to get his attention, but to no avail.  He seemed surprised that we didn't get second helpings, I think.  Maybe he didn't think we would want to finish without getting more "money food"?  In any case, the check process was slightly bumpy - though my husband was a bit more concerned than I was, since I was perfectly distracted by my Bloody Mary.

All in all, a failsafe brunch experience.  Nice decor.  Think cheesy wedding banquet room but minus the cheese - and with the addition of Ethan Allen type calming color palettes and paneling.

And I do believe they serve brunch until 1pm.

My family and I got a chance to try the Sunday Brunch at Traditions at the Glen.  The room itself was very nice - bright and spacious.  The buffet consists of an omelet station with ham, a variety of veggies and two kinds of cheese.  There is a carving station which featured honey baked ham and a belgium waffle and pancake station.  I didn't try the pancakes but my family said they were very good.  The rest of the buffet included standard fare such as bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and potatoes.  There was also a table set up with a variety of pastries and mixed fruit.  I didn't try the pastries because honestly, they didn't look very appetizing.

Overall, the food was good.  My family and I all agreed that some of the items were a little too greasy for our liking.  The variety was nice but the quality wasn't quite what we expected.  I do have to mention that I liked the coffee.  I am quite the coffee snob so when an establishment has a crappy cup of coffee, I'm not too happy.  So Traditions passed that test!

The service was average at best.  I only saw two servers in the entire room taking drink orders and taking plates.  Granted, there was a group from a wedding party that showed up in the middle of our brunch so maybe that's why it seemed a little on the slow side.  Still, an establishment like this should have plenty of staff around to help.

I'm not sure I would go back to this brunch.  I do have a buy one, get one free coupon so perhaps I'll give it another try in a few months.  For the $15.95 they charge, I expected a little more out of it.

We stayed here for my friends wedding last July.  It's a beautiful hotel and the rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. We had a great time!

Traditions at the Glen was formerly an IBM-owned facility that served the Corporation's need for employee recreation/sales meetings and training for several decades. A rich history exists here...many notables (President Eisenhower and Arnold Palmer, to name a couple) stayed here or played the facility's Homestead golf course during the IBM years.

Now having passed into private hands, Traditions is truly the best lodging choice in the Triple Cities. I have stayed at Traditions more than 15 times. The facility underwent extensive renovation a couple of years ago. Rooms and suites are well-appointed, clean and feature a list of modern amenities. The Traditions Spa offers a fairly comprehensive, affordable list of services (massage, beauty treatments, etc....though I received the all-time worst haircut there 2 visits back!); the restaurant and bar, though small in size, afford one a variety of meal options. The staff are generally very customer service-focused and are eager to please. Room rates are at the upper range of rates found for hotels in the Triple Cities (considered moderate for most of the rest of the country). The golf course is well maintained and affordable.

Traditions, like all hotels, is not without a few shortcomings:
-the fitness facility needs some updating (more state-of-the art equipment needs to be provided, the ventilation/cooling system in this room is inadequate).
-the restaurant menu need to be expanded and the complimentary morning breakfast buffet, though better than most offered at Triple Cities hotels, could be improved (given the room rates). Additionally, the size of the restaurant needs to be expanded...the 5-6 tables are simply not enough (evident during the most recent weekend breakfast "rush")!
-though the hotel is diligent about sending out surveys designed to improve their facility, no discernable changes occur...for example, the hotel needs to to offer some sort of loyalty program for repeat customers...the hotel lags behind the local competition on this point.
-bathroom amenities (soaps, shampoos, etc.) should be upgraded from their current middling level, to reflect the level of those used/sold in the Traditions Spa.
-internet service needs to be upgraded to WiFi (currently, you can obtain a cable from the Front Desk for complimentary high-speed internet access).

Though my list may seem like nit-picking to some, I am really a fan of Traditions...just pointing out the need for some improvements. When in the Binghamton area, this is one of the top places to stay!
