Usually I come here to check out the clearance OPI nail polishes.   I've bought a set of mini OPI's from here.  They have a great selection of hair, nail products.  There's an area in the back where you can get your hair and nails done too.

The staff are friendly.

The five stars are for the stylists only, just because I don't know how the management is or the new beauty advisors are since I have left.

I used to work at Trade Secret for 4 years. I have long since quit but I don't know why I stayed for as long as I did. I think I was just really comfortable and felt an attachment to my co-workers and the stylists.  TS really screwed me over salary wise. (READ: Even Starbucks baristas get paid more.) Sadly, the stylists here are grossly underpaid as well, I really wish that they would take their customer service skills elsewhere as Trade Secret does NOT deserve such hardworking dedicated employees. I recommend Xuan because she always did my hair and I received tons of compliments each time. Now this place is under new management so I'm not sure how the service is from the beauty advisors, but I can certainly vouch for Xuan's work. Anyway, sorry about rambling on about how Trade Secret is a cheapskate corporation and should take better care of their employees, but it's so true.

On a brighter note, they have really good deals especially in the clearance section. When I worked there you could find things up to 80% off. Look for the promotion packages on the side of the store... especially after Christmas, all seasonal promotions are 50% the day after Christmas... which means you get incredible savings since the promo already saved you money before it was 50%. They also offer mall discount which is 20%... a mere 5% less than employee store discount. HAHA.

I just wanted to edit my review, since I have come and gotten work done an additional five times since my last review. What I love about the place is that they welcome anyone and everyone with open arms. I go there to get my hair bleached and colored pink, blue and everything else. They don't judge, get annoyed or get all huffy about how "lame" "scene" or "punk rock" it is, like other places. I'm not trying to be any of that, I just want fun, cute hair and they totally get that. Bleaching and coloring can really fry my hair, but every time I have left the place my hair is in better shape than it was when I started! I tell all my friends to come here, it's worth the drive. Where I currently live the three salon's in my town would charge me around 120.00 - 145.00 to bleach and color my hair (and I provide my own color!) while at Trade secret, I get charged a mere 45.00 - 60.00, TOPS. Amazing deals if you ask me!

I want to talk about the Trade Secret at the Westfield/Oakridge Mall, their staff is top notch and both Thuy and Ramona make the store running smooth and productive. Thuy does the best hair and does the best bleaching that I have yet to have done. I'm constantly going back there for the latest goods, and hair cuts. I have mad love for the trade secret crew at the oakridge mall and can't recommend them enough!
