We've gotten two dogs from Loree and her crew over the past 5 years.  We drive all the way down from Northern California to pick up dogs from her.  They are the best rescue around

I met Loree and Dr Schwartz while doing rescue with another group years ago. The more I come to know about them, the more impressed I am with them, and - believe me - I am not easy to impress. They rescue hundreds of animals every year, most from the brink of death. They work tirelessly with other rescue groups and shelters, often taking the toughest cases with the greatest care needs. They take hundreds of "disposable" beagles from the labs who breed and use them for animal testing. They are just incredible.

When it was time for me to adopt another dog for own family, Loree and Monte were the obvious choice. I have never had a single regret from any interaction I've had with any individual from this group. Not one. My little yorkie loves her Auntie Loree and Uncle Monte, and I am so glad and grateful they are who they are. Just incredible, the work they do and the way they do it.

Among others, in the space of a year, they place dozens of yorkshire terriers, shih tzu, poodles, lhasa apso, beagles, and small dogs off all kinds - most of whom require grooming. If you want a cute little dog who will return your love and devotion ten-fold, contact Toy Breed Rescue. They will tell you how it is.

This place is awesome if you're looking a little furry companion.  I spoke with Loree Levy-Schwartz, who is the contact person in charge of adoptions.  I worked with her for a few months until I was sure I found just the right little dog to suit my lifestyle.  The nice part about this place is that Loree does specialize in working with pure-bred rescues, so I ended up with a dog that came from a champion breeder (my dog got pulled from the show ring for being too tall for his breed!).  This means that I only spent ~$275 on a dog that is probably worth so much more!  And he's beautiful and has a wonderful disposition to boot!

But the price wasn't that big of a deal, I guess (although I certainly didn't have $2500 to spend on a dog).  I was more concerned about finding a fun, little companion that DIDN'T come from a backyard breeder that had a posting on craigslist.

If you plan to adopt (there, and pretty much everywhere else), be prepared to be able to answer any and all questions they have about your lifestyle and income (they just want to be sure their dogs are going to the best homes).  This usually involves a long questionnaire. Because they're based at a vet hospital, they do offer vaccinations and microchipping as well, which I highly recommend.

My experience with them has been pleasant, although both my vet and doggie day care place have commented on a rude staff person there(have yet to find out who this is) whenever they've called to confirm vaccinations.

We adopted Mai Tai a 14 yr old golden Shih Tzu from Loree! He's amazing, wonderful, sweet, healthy & ours! We got him to a cardiologist & eye specialist (due to his age) & found he's relatively healthy, just a little blind & mostly deaf... just like my husband (ha ha!!). He's touched our heart, saved our little souls out of love & just plain has fun every day!

We luv him & appreciate Loree's thorough check out to ensure the best for her little furbaby! We love our  new babe - but we did end up changing his name from Mai Tai to OD (Oats for short)... for Old Dude!

    We love our Old Dude!!

We adopted Maddie-beautiful Maltese mix (initially known as Goldie) from Loree about 2 months ago and she has been the best addition to our family.  Maddie at 1.5 years old, is healthy, came house broken and walks well on the leash.  She is also great with children and other dogs.   These things may sound obvious, but difficult to come by in smaller dogs and the traits are near impossible in adoptable dogs.

Loree was very helpful in matching us with the right dog.  Her knowledge is priceless.  If you are thinikng about adopting a small dog, purebred or not, this is the place to go.  You will get a real one on one matching process to find the right dog for you.

We adopted our first pug here. He was healthy and well socialized at four months. He's a great little pug :) I'd recommend anyone looking to rescue a toy speak with these folks.

We adopted an adorable little Italian Greyhound from here and love her to death. She had two broken legs that they fixed up, we fostered her during recuperation, and then we adopted her. What a sweet addition to our canine family.

These folks really care about the animals and getting good homes for them. Just be aware that you're gonna fall in love.

We recently adopted a pure bred Lhaso Apso from Toy Breed Rescue and had a greate experience. After we got her home we discovered that she had a cold. We called Loree, she said bring her in, we did, the vet looked our dog over, gave a prescription and we were out of there. No Charge! Two weeks later Loree called to see how our pup was doing! Very nice! A great organization!
