Total score for this neighborhood. I came with a bunch of folks from work on the company dime. We wanted something close, fancy but not pretentious and that would make a wide range of eaters happy.
GREAT service, really savory food and lovely decor. You don't know what to expect from the outside and then BAM it is like Dr. Who's Tardis, so BIG inside.
A great date spot if you were shooting to impress and both wanted to feel special. Also, nice place to take the out of town parents who are scared that you are going to serve them tofu for their entire visit.
They were able to accommodate a party of eight without a fuss, food all came out pretty much together and from the smiles and smacking lips, not one person seemed unhappy. Actually, everyone had something positive to say and that made it really a great night!
I love these hidden gems in the bay area! The Townhouse is literally hidden in a small residential street in Emeryville and is easy to miss. It may lack curb appeal but the inside is fabulous. They also have patio seating that is absolutely fantastic on a nice sunny day.
Everything on their menu sounds delicious and most of them are. So far I have had and absolutely enjoyed:
1. Grilled filet medallions in a cognac-peppercorn sauce, roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes.
2. Braised short ribs in a red wince sauce with polenta and roasted root vegetables.
3. Prawn scampi linguini with citrus-herb-caper butter sauce and garlic crostini.
Mmm... Makes my mouth watery just thinking about it! They also have killer appetizers that will make you stand up and shout, "HALLELUYAH!"
If it wasn't for the high prices, I'd eat here every day. The average price for an appetizer is over $10 and the dishes I have listed are around $20. Drinks add up too which will make your lunch quite costly but well worth the price.
I have figured out Townhouse.
My office is nearby and have been there probably around ten times now - the food is good if your ordering strategy matches the Townhouse's strengths, the ambiance/atmosphere is always good (if maybe a little too loud sometimes), the decor is strikingly funky on the outside and cool on the inside and the service is consistently attentive yet perfectly tasteful and discreet.
I have gone there for dinner with a family group of ten, had business lunches for two, had dinner with friends in a group of four including my twenty-two year old collegiate son; every time the experience was solidly pleasant and professional in the good sense of the word from seating to dessert.
At first I tried to be healthy and intelligent, ordering soups and salads and came away somewhat dissatisfied with my order. I don't love the usual red pepper soup but the salads are always good.
Then I said 'the heck with it' and just went for the meat and comfort food classics - voila! Bingo! That's the Townhouse's sweet spot. Once forgoing "eating light & healthy' I went for the short ribs at lunch - heavenly! At another business lunch date I did it again and ordered the beef filet stroganoff - very good.
A few days ago we went on Halloween night which is slow for them, and had a very nice time. I had the prime rib special, my son had the pork chop - both of which were excellent.
The Townhouse is not a super high-end joint, and we ended up paying $140 for four people which is pretty reasonable for a nice place. In San Francisco or at Oliveto in Oakland the same meal could easily have been $200 or more.
The Townhouse is a superb choice for a nice experience, good food, quirky but ultimately winning decor at a price most people would think is reasonable if you order correctly.
Love the back patio, feels casual and fun, like being on the bayou. Unexpected. Never eaten inside, but it's a bit fancier. Servers have always been great, but the people at the front desk can be a bummer..they seem extra annoyed. I always get the Teriyaki marinated filet with sticky rice when I'm craving the protein and it enough to fill me up at dinnertime. I love it.
I usually go on Wed or Thurs night for the live jazz (the second set is the best.) I've tried many of their appetizers, entrees, and their overpriced hamburger, and I just don't feel wowed by the food when I leave there. Plus they don't change their menu very often. I do like their outdoor patio on a hot day, and the bartenders are pretty cool.
I feel like I've been had.
Me and the woman dropped in spur of the moment, it was payday and we decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner. We walked in to a half empty restaurant and were asked if we had a reservation. No, we did not have a reservation so I guess that meant we had to be seated in the corner by the toilets and next to the only table in the place with a food throwing child... great. Whatever, it was Friday, I just got paid, I was in a good mood and not about to let some beleaguered couple's brat spoil my evening, I've worn worse than chewed food. Initial service of butter, bread, and water show up soon after seating, and a minute later our waitress, with all the enthusiasm of Steven Wright, lists off the specials and takes our drink order. A short while later she returns with our drinks and takes our order with the same deadpan demeanor. We got the fried calamari appetizer, she got the Thai steak salad and I got the prime rib special. The Calamari was good, nothing special, but good. I definitely expected the $19 salad to be far more spectacular than it was. If it was all organic veg and grass fed beef maybe I'd understand, as it was I feel like I just wasn't getting the joke. My medium rare prime rib was perfectly rare, luke warm, and slightly metallic in flavor, the green beans and mashed potatoes were definitely the highlights.
At least the drinks were strong, and our waitress did finally crack a smile as she was presenting us with the check... She had a really nice smile...
So another uninspired $45+/person meal from a so-called "fine dining" establishment... I still don't get the joke
The last few meals at Townhouse, including last night, have been fine. But in the hothouse of Bay Area eating, that's just nothing special.
The atmosphere remains great--a lively crowd mixed between bar and tables, some live guitar, quick and attentive service.
But foodwise, I'd like at least one "wow, that's really good" moment at this pricepoint, and at a place with this reputation. It wasn't there. My lamb salad tasted just like what I would've made at home, except I wouldn't have over-dressed it and I wouldn't have put rubbery grated cheddar (college cafeteria, anyone? what a horrible texture) on it. Other dishes were...fine. The $28 scallop dish (5 scallops, 10 green beans, 1 cup of mashed potatoes) had flavors that were nice individually but didn't blend perfectly. I suppose the bread pudding was pretty good.
Beverages: had a cucumber gimlet that did not deliver any cucumber flavor, so I guess I was drinking a perfectly nice, ordinary, $8.75 gimlet. I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on Townhouse's over-priced wines-by-the-glass. Sorry, but I just don't go for greater-than-200%-over-retail on wines that anyone can find at Safeway.
I've always been intrigued by the Townhouse, with its hole-in-the-wall, shabby-chic decor hiding the real sophistication inside. Never had a chance to check it out until I took JP out here for her birthday. I should preface by saying this a carnivore-oriented place, and I hear the burgers are excellent and the salmon well-prepared, so take this with a grain of salt. There were some moments of excellence but too many average moments for the price.
We shared the sweet potato fries with chipotle aioli to start, which were outstanding, and were served in a generous portion that we saved for later. I had the cedar plank vegetables with risotto cakes, and the cakes were the hands-down standout of the dish, decadent, creamy, and flavorful - I savored them throughout the meal. The vegetables were just OK, and the rest of the dish felt a little greasy and oily.
We had one each of the house wines (one red, one white) and one each of some of the nicer varietals, and the house was an excellent value - a Napa Cab or Zin, I think, and each was excellent. I didn't order a beer, but I found the $5.75 price sort of odd for the craft beers on draft.
Service was a little bit slow (not the waitstaff, but the food itself) on a slow Friday night, but there was a big group inside that was probably overwhelming the waitstaff - we sat outside on the patio.
I'm sure that if I ordered a burger and the house red, or something else with those risotto cakes, it would be 5 stars, but it's not my first choice as a veggie, naturally. I might go back for the bar, though, sometime - looked like an interesting crowd and selection.
Janice was great, she really knew her wines and checked in often. Great service at this upscale place. Service Tattler Rating 3.7 of 5 stars.
Yays: Great drink mixology, Greeted with smiles, Server checked in often, Great wine suggestion, Drinks served quickly, Host is courteous.
Timers: Order to Drinks Served 2min 23sec, Seating to Order 1min 10sec, Order to Main Course 7min 53sec, Arrival to Seating 26sec, Order to Desert Served 6min 49sec, Order to Appetizers Served 4min 3sec, Check Delivered 12min 42sec
Best place to eat in Emeryville. Good food, good menu, good service, cool environment. One minor gripe, is that is it hard to find! I always wind up wandering up and down the streets looking for this place, each time I go. But it is worth it.
Went with a big party and a child too. Made reservations online. Arrived there about 15 minutes late but we were seated immediately. Waitress was prompt and we ordered pretty quick. Food came pretty quick too, and it was good. Pork chop was juicy and the mash potatoes were awesome. Nice, creamy and buttery. The ribs marinated in bbq sauce and mango were really good too, though the cole slaw needed a bit more dressing. Dessert was good too (Chocolate mousse.. though it was a little too sweet for my taste).
Overall.. good service.. good food.. good atmosphere... easy to find parking... would highly recommend!!
Some friends invited us to go eat with them here, and when we pulled up, I thought, yikes, what a cute little dump! But was really surprised to get inside and find an elegant, yet not pretentious dining area.
We shared some appetizers and had salads. The sweet potato french fries were really good. Our server was helpful without being annoying.
Definitely would go back again!
After 18 years of going to the Townhouse I am proud to say it has maintained itself with class and dignity. My Blackened salmon caesar salad the other day was fantastic!
Because I don't drink beer or wine I am always partial to a place with a full bar, this they have which will always rate at least one star for me.
Great fresh menu, pleasant and professional staff, nice earthy/natural ambiance and outdoor seating really fill in the picture with the Townhouse.
The wait can be difficult during the work week, make a reservation.
Not a bad evolution for a place that was once a biker bar.
Totally not what I was expecting at all. From the outside it doesn't look like much and most of the reviews I read mentioned garlic fries and beer- I was expecting it to be casual. Its actually pretty fancy-shmancy and nice.
The drinks were good, the service was great and the food was average. Its a little expensive and I wasn't all that impressed. And it was really stuffy and hot. We had calamari, chicken and a halibut special. Eh. I might back for cocktails though. Everyone at the bar looked like they were having a good time.
came here with hubby and folks for our anniversary, guided by yelp reviews. always wanted to try it b/c of the outside looking crappy and the inside looking nice.
ambiance - nice interior, kind of rustic but upscale. patio looked great for having a drink on a nice day. live piano when we visited. bar is nice too.
meal - the menu has lots of 'classics' like ny strip steak, burger, chicken piccata, pork chop, etc. nothing that screams unique or different (don't come here for that). appetizers looked like you could make a meal out of them, or drink a lot with them (sliders, etc.). salads sounded good, though i didn't get one on this visit (buffalo chicken salad, roasted beets, etc.). so, the choices weren't anything unusual, but i ordered a special: alaskan halibut stuffed with dungeness crab with beurre blanc sauce. Very Good. mashed potatoes were super creamy and topped with chives (nice touch). roasted veggies were boring. portions are generous.
dessert - ordered the s'mores tart (good) and the warm butterscotch bread pudding (dry). bread pudding should never be dry!
giving this place 3 stars. not sure it is worth the higher prices. no real "wow's" as another yelper mentioned. pluses are: easy parking, close to freeway, and ambiance. the food would be a 3.
One of the best restaurants in East Bay. Sit at the bar, Jason the bartender who just recently came back is the best! You will get recommendations straight up without wasting time with a server!
Love the artwork and vibe inside the restaurant. I don't really like the dessert menu however, they need to improve on it a bit.
I'm hanging out here now thinking, "These sliders with gorgonzola are really good. This is definitely better than the sliders I had last week at Petes Tavern in the city. And I can order Guinness or Chimay. And this happy hour ceviche is a good deal. "
Good food, good happy hour ambience, GOOD food. Score!
From the outside this place looks like a shack - but the inside is nice (I love the transition/shock value) with warm, earthy tones, great artwork, and is sophisticated without being pretentious (the history of this place is really cool, too). I enjoy sitting in the outdoor patio area when it's nice outside. Good food, beer, & wine (Stags' Leap!) selection - love the gorgeous bar. Neat place to take out-of-towners or get a big table of friends together and share, too. Thumbs up.
I've enjoyed the Townhouse Bar and Grill for the last nine years. In a sense it doesn't seem to change except that the bartenders and the wait staff are new every so many years. The drinks at the small bar are well-made and with fresh ingredients. I arrived with my two friends for dinner without reservations on a weekday evening. We waited at the bar for maybe 10 minutes and then were seated. My friends both had mojitos with fresh mint which were refreshing. We started with an appetizer of sweet potato fries with chipotle aioli which to me is the best choice on that part of the menu. Two of us had their caesar salad which was super fresh and tangy, For entrees again two of us had the baby back pork ribs with mango BBQ sauce, red potato salad. The potato salad was the best with a strong and richly flavored mayo/blue cheese dressing. I could have just had a huge order of the potato salad and been satisfied. I had the penne pasta with chicken, pancetta, peppers, onions, fresh mozzarella and toasted bread crumbs as an entree...another delicious choice.
Although we didn't have dessert, on other occasions I've had the creme brulee which is quite good.
Although the Townhouse is a small intimate place I never feel overwhelmed there. It's a lively and interesting dinner house in an out of-the-way location, but it certainly deserves your patronage. The servers are also top notch and are extremely helpful guiding you through the menu.
I look forward to my next trip over to the east bay because I'll definitely make it a point to have lunch or dinner at the Townhouse Bar and Grill.
I heard of this place from a friend, and after living in Emeryville for a year and never trying it, I finally got around to having dinner there...after I had moved =p. This place looks like a dive bar on the outside, but the inside is pretty swanky. The garlic fries are awesome. I had a scallop dish and my boyfriend had a burger, which were pretty good but I'm not certain was worth the cost. Be prepared to spend a bit, but you should have an enjoyable meal.
Very, very good!
Easy off street parking, nice looking interior with lots of room between the tables. Lots of servers with prompt and pleasant service.
There were four of us and we each had a different entree. Everyone raved about their meal.
What more can you ask for?
My boyfriend and I went here on our anniversary night. We felt like going somewhere close to home, eating something delicious, and surprisingly we weren't craving some kind of foreign noodles. :)
I decided to try the filet mignon stroganoff, which was seriously delicious. It was rich, creamy, flavorful, filling...I could taste the fresh herbs in the dish; and believe me, if you cook with fresh herbs, you know the difference. Honestly, I've been craving it since we went there, and I usually don't even like stroganoff! (Must have been the filet.. mmm!) My S.O. went with one of their specials, which was .. oh I forgot exactly... some kind of grilled salmon, with coconut rice and I think a mango salsa? He really enjoyed his meal as well.
We shared a few glasses of wine and decided to order dessert- not something we usually do. Well let me say I was certainly glad we did.. We got the Dessert Trio.. OMG! It had smaller-sized portions of strawberry rhubarb crisp (so good!) bread pudding, with a caramel sauce that I'm pretty sure was homemade because I could taste a hint of delicious rum in it (even better!) and a kahlua chocolate mousse which was coated in cocoa powder.. ohhh my goodness. So chocolately and delicious! Each one we tried just got better and better!
Oh, we were there on a jazz night too which was nice. I'd read reviews that said it was too loud; it didn't seem to bother us, but either we talk loud, or perhaps it wasn't bothering us because we were across the room? I'm not sure, but I'm never one to shy away from live music in a restaurant. It also appeared that they had an outdoor patio which would be really nice on a warm summer (or fall?) night! I really liked the ambiance too.. I'm a fan of wood beams, and they were aplenty! There was also a fire going the night we were in there. Nice! It was so warm and cozy on a night when it was chilly and windy outside.
The one downside I see is that it was definitely out of our price range to be considered into rotation on our regular list places to go for dinner on a night out. (Too bad, cause I sure could go for that stroganoff again!) Great for a special occasion though!
The Kobes can't think of a single reason not to give Townhouse 5 stars. In fact I think so much of this place that I had my company holiday party here a few months back. I come here primarily for business lunches and have always been able to get a table even without a reservation. I can't say enough about the quality and taste of the food, it is very solid. Be sure to pay attention when they list off the daily specials, something is guaranteed to pique your interest. Service is prompt and very friendly.
Townhouse is also a great place to go for drinks after work if you aren't in the mood for the loud and more than slightly hipster crowd at Kitty's, which is a few blocks away. They have a good selection of beer and whiskey, so yeah, two thumbs up there.
Oh and if the sun is out, the outdoor seating area of Townhouse is pretty hard to beat. There is a giant redwood tree out there that provides some shade here and there and keeps the temperature just about right.
If you are one of those guys who want to take your date someplace nice but also want to ensure that you get enough to eat, Townhouse is a great option for you. It has the tablecloths, cocktails, and beamed ceiling that will appeal to your date, but the menu includes a number of man-sized entrees, and even some man-sized appetizers.
In truth, the food can be a little rich and high in fat (yes, I mean you, crab-artichoke dip - worth every bit of your $16 price tag.) I'm not a big meat-eater, so I usually choose to balance out my entree with a salad or a veggie option like the polenta. The one entree I have not had good luck with is the scallops -- the asiago crust seems not to agree with me.
Aside from those concerns, I love the drinks and the ambiance here. The service for all of our many visits has been very good. This is in our regular rotation of restaurants (at least to the extent we think we can afford it.)
We go here for vendor meetings or bdays for lunch during the week. I love this place. I always get the thai steak salad. AMAZING! I eat the whole thing even though i look at it and think its impossible. Have had their garlic fries which i could kill a whole plate of. And i am not a huge fan of these on a normal day but at Townhouse its always a good day to get sweet potato fries. best i have ever had...and like i said, not even a fan of the concept. Would order those everytime. Have also had the calamari which is nothing crazy different and the crab and artichoke melt which is good but super rich. Makes you want to take a nap afterwards. Damn you townhouse! Why do your daily specials always sounds so good and my cravings always remain for your steak salad! If i could afford it i would eat here everyday for lunch. Everything is good!
Was I here on an off night??
The complimentary bread was really good... but the food... was not.
Grilled beet and mixed green salad: Good juicy beets, fresh veggies, tart goat cheese and a really good light vinaigerette. Can't really go wrong with a salad but it was still really good.
Grilled salmon with the citrus hollandaise sauce. Salmon was cooked perfectly but needed salt and pepper. Hollandaise sauce was "meh". Neither very citrusy, nor had the richness that hollandaise sauces usually have. Just overall lacked in flavor. The sauteed spinach was good but then again, how could they have gotten that wrong? Their so-called saffron rice tasted like Rice-a-Roni. Not good at all. Which I guess worked out for me cause I didn't eat it thus avoiding the carbs! Scoooore.
Chicken parmigiana... Chicken was good... juicy and crispy but lacked in flavor. Again, salt and pepper were desperately needed. The marinara suace? NASTY. Tasted like it came out of a jar. Their "fresh" mozzarella was not fresh either. It definitely was not made in house and lacked in overall flavor.
Sidenote: Coolness points for looking like a shack on the outside. I like eating at interesting looking places. Food needs help. Like ASAP.
I think it is safe to say this is Emeryville's only fine dining restaurant and probably one of the few which are open past 9pm :)
this place is kinda like Winchester Mystery house, windows open to wall of neighboring building and the exterior is like a make shift place. They have a live band playing which adds to the atmosphere. The service is really good and food is tantalizing. I had calamari, garlic & yam fires and grilled prawns as appetizers. Watch out for the garlic fries as the flavor stays for a day or so. For entree i had salmon linguini's which was very flavorful and not buttery. the salmon had smoky flavor and the cheesy sauce complimented it well. I will definitely recommend this entree
I'll give the Townhouse 4 Stars for the food and ambiance and a bonus star for how nicely my 12 year-old son was treated in this very classy adult restaurant. In particular, the tall female bartender plied my son with a few Roy Rogers (coke, grenadine and lots of cherrys) and melted his adolescent attitude with kindness, attention, and a warm smile. Legal Disclaimer: My son was not actually sitting at the bar.
The very capable waitress at our table was also very nice to him, even considering the messy aftermath of his baby back ribs order. This father appreciates all this a lot.
I would also like to thank Toni and Miz Tam for recommending this place. I had been here years before, but kind of forgot about the Townhouse. The only caution is that parking in their lot can be a bit tricky.
I was also here to entertain an out-of-town work colleague (who understands parenting challenges). And like me, he was impressed with his dinner (he had the Jambalaya) , the nicely rustic and woody ambiance, the excellent service, and the Jazz band playing softly in the background. My burger was a great choice, especially with the fresh bread/vegetables, blue cheese and almost perfect fries.
My best friend and her family took me and one of our other friends here for a birthday celebration.
I ordered a salad, and the vegatable plate (on the wood thing), and bread pudding. If I were to go back I'd just get the beet salad and the bread pudding. The veggie plate was ok.
But bonus points for such a cute place!
The food is really good!! The bar is also really cool...bartenders are sweet and drinks are yummy!
Ambiance is rustic, cozy and romantic - perfect to impress a date.
I recommend checking Townhouse out for cocktails or dinner...or both!
Townhouse is a great, quaint little restaurant on a side street in Emeryville.
The good:
Margaritas made with fresh limes!
Fried Chicken
Spicy Coleslaw
Sliders!
The bad:
Awkward parking? But that's about it....
A nice, neighborhood joint that serves solid, simple food.
Ehh, maybe I'm ordering the wrong things but I have yet to have an impressive meal here. Or maybe my expectations are too high - since I tend to associate the cost of my meal to how good it's going to taste. I'll even take it a step further and consider myself semi snobby.
The Chicken Jambalaya was not very flavorful.
The Chicken Salad was actually decent - it had a good blend of textures and tastes with the creamy bleu cheese, tart/crisp apples, toasted pecans and bittersweet currants. Though on a less impressive note, this isn't a salad difficult to recreate on your own - as each ingredient is readily available at your local grocery store.
The atmosphere is indeed warm and cozy, a good place to hang out and catch up with old friends which is enough of a reason to return. My cost savings from the mediocre food at this place will just subsidize my drinks instead as the bar is (while not highly extensive) pretty decent.
this place is excellent.
Went there last night for the first time and enjoyed a bowl of beef stroganoff that was super yummy.
Great atmosphere and service too.
I can't really tell you much other than when my bf (of 5 yrs )& i tried it for the first time he & I were arguing so I was trying to ignore him & focus on the ambiance around me. Which ended up being a great distraction. We sat outside near the heat lamps and could easily hear the live jazz music coming from inside the restaurant.
It's in walking distance from our condo and i love the fact that it was suppose to be the original Townhouse for the City of Emeryville but the original owner back in the 20s decided that he wanted to make it a speakeasy instead during Prohibition, which later became a restaurant.
This place is alittle pricey but great for a drink on a warm evening or a second date in my case!
Absolutely delicious. Everything I've ever tried is great. And the wait staff are very friendly and helpful. They are always willing to make substitutions and check on ingredients with the chef.
I've gone for both lunch and dinner many times with a bunch of different people and everyone always loves their meal. I would call it "Nouveau American Cuisine," which includes burgers, Beef Stroganoff, French and Italian inspired dishes and wonderful grilled fish. The menu changes regularly, but if you ever see the beef and mango salad, get it. Absolutely divine!
It's a little pricey but worth every penny. I dig the funky building and rustic interior. It's a fun place with a group, or as a romantic dinner.
I have been there a number of times for drinks and dinner.
They seem to always be busy, but I have never felt neglected even on Friday nights.
Whenever we take new people here, they are always a little scared by the exterior. The polished speakeasy interior quickly brings them around though. The patio seating is also particularly nice on a warm evening.
The food and drinks are always very tasty.
I don't believe that anyone I've taken there has ever had anything that they didn't like.
The deserts are wonderful, and the specials are usually a good bet.
In my experiences, the waitresses made good recommendation for food. The restaurant has a decent wine list; though I think that their wait staff gives good, but not great, pairing recommendations.
We came on a Wed. night. The place was pretty full with a lively older crowd. Few open tables here and there and some stools at the bar, but the house was running a good 90%. They play Jazz on Wed and Thurs nights so the piano man was soothing us with some smooth listening classics.
We were seated withing 5 minutes and happily perused the menu.
1 page of starters, salads, and entrees. Most looked quite good.
We finally decided on the "warm crab and artichoke dip with grano duro bread" Holy crap that starter was like crack! For cocktails we had something from the speciality bar menu. A "red tingle?" Wow, strong and refreshing. Felt like an alcoholic orgasm tap dancing on my tongue.
I wouldn't recommend ordering it if you're driving because you'll want another, and another, and another. They have a respectable wine list so pick something by the glass if you're using the 4 wheels to get here.
My date ordered the salmon ....ouuu looked so good! I had the top cap sirloin steak (med) it came out med-well so I recommend ordering med-rare if you are a steak aficionado and like your meat correctly done. Regardless the flavor was spot on and the onions and salsa concoction covering it was divine. Dessert was this this 5 layer of mousse of chocolate, whipped cream, caramel, almonds, and dark chocolate sauce in a tall glass. It was good but nothing to write to Mama about.
Cocktails, app, 2 entrees, and dessert came to $97. Not bad considering a nice restaurant with a wood burning stove and real piano playing jazz in the corner. Bring a date, bring a friend, and they will thank you.... for showing them the nice restaurant inside the dirty white shack.
I was surprised by this place. Tucked between warehouses and a community garden is the Townhouse. This place is best described as "unassuming". They had a classical guitarist playing, but the atmosphere was still boisterous. The food and service were both really good.
I got the chicken jambalaya and my friend got the burger. Both were tasty, and the jambalaya was served piping hot. The food came out quick too, but they were in no hurry to turn the table over.
They had a great selection of beers and the space is just amazing with multiple levels giving each area a real ambiance of its own. This seems like a great place for beers after work, a date, or even a large group of people. I wouldn't have my bar mitzvah party here or anything, but it's a cool place.
The Townhouse has some pretty fucking awesome dishes on their hands.
Grilled polenta and veggies?
--------yum
The *gulp* Lamb salad that I've only had the once?
-------- Actually pretty tasty.
Beet Salad?
-----deliculous!
The best part of the whole dining experience at the Townhouse is grabbing a Mojito. I am not skilled in the ways of the Mojito creation and production, but I can spot a shitty one a mile away. Townhouse rocks it. The best I've ever had. Aside from the food - which should be the most important thing but usually isnt - the waiters/waitresses have always been witty and on the ball. I've never had an issue here.
wow. I just shocked myself. Usually I can find SOMETHING wrong.
I've had many an appetizer and drink here, plenty of lunches, and dinner just gets better. Good place for birthday dinners or meals with larger groups;
I love this place so much that my wife and I had our wedding reception here and, seven years later, we had a party at the Townhouse to celebrated the birth of our daughter.
We recently had prime rib, salmon and the baby back ribs. All were perfect. The caesar salad, burger, garlic fries, calamari and grilled prawns are killer.
The bartenders are great and I often see singles or couples eating at the comfortable long bar.
Finally, the outdoor deck is great when the weather permits.
