I have been a loyal  customer for over 5 years and I must say, the ladies are amazing.

Oh, and the saleswomen at Town Shop are pretty good, too.

Seriously, they took a load off my shoulders and about 10 years off my figure. Turns out I'd been wearing a bra too big for my back, so was relying on the straps for support. With my girls newly hoisted, I looked younger, perkier and slimmer.

Yes, the prices can give you sticker shock., But if you wear an unusual size you will not find it in mass-brand stores like Victoria's Secret. Only designers seem to make those sizes.

    And honestly, it's worth it.

If you take care of your bras the way they tell you, they will last over a year without. letting you down.

Ages ago, my sister-in-law introduced me to Town Shop. If you are a larger chested lady, it's a must visit!

I went yesterday thinking that I was a 34D and walked out a 32F. Yikes, scary. The bra fitting experience is painless and the ladies are very helpful and no-nonsense. Expect to drop some $$$ but the bras are worth it. I paid through the nose for three Chantelle bras but I look about 15 pounds lighter and they fit beautifully.

Note - ladies, you will be sharing close quarters with a bra fitter who will be all up in your boobies adjusting things. If you're modest or don't like showing your breasts to a random stranger in the name of getting a great-fitting bra, you may be a little uneasy. But it's totally worth it.

Here we go again with me and my breasts.

I stopped in Town Shop on a whim and was taken care of immediately. BONUS!  I had head about long waits, but I guess I hit it at the right time.

No measuring tape here, the saleslady just looked at the bra I was wearing and moved things around, trying to get everything in my current bra looking perfect.  She sized me up with her eyes, and it turned out I was wearing the right size for once in my life! She then went and found some different things to try, and I swear, she picked the most comfortable yet sexy bras in about three seconds flat.  I left with two and I was really happy with the price point (about $50 for each) because I always feel I'm paying at least $80 for a reasonably sexy bra for the big girls.

I really liked the service here, so if I'm uptown looking for bras, this will be my place.

Aw man. You had me so pleased, Town Shop until I returned to pick up a bra that I ordered about one month ago. Upon arrival, I told them I was there for a pick up. The woman at the front desk was rude and not in the least way helpful. She rummaged around and pulled my order. I took one look at the bra and knew right away that it was the wrong one. I notified the snarky attendant who stared at me blankly and said "okay". No apology, no explanation, NADA.

I was determined, though, to find the bra I had ordered because I had looked forward to it for one month. Snarky attendant assigned me a sales lady who proved to be very helpful and managed to magically track down my original bra order, which somehow had made its way into the general stock. I ended up purchasing the bra as well as a swimsuit top at 33% off and got more attitude from the attendant.

    Boo for bad service!

I think every woman needs to add a good bra, a nice thong, and some good thigh highs to their collection.
I walked in thinking I was one size and after having a sales woman all up in my ladies, realized I had been wearing the wrong bra size for a very long time.
There bra selection is not trashy victoria's secret style. Its is seductive, feminine and well made. Lets face it dolls-the french know the art of intimates.

I admit, I walked into Town Shop expecting a miraculous experience in which I tried on several bras and walked away with a perfect one. So maybe my story is a bit tainted by my disappointment.

Upon arriving, I was greeted by a woman who asked what I was looking for. I told her I'd love to be fitted for a bra, because I didn't know what size I was. She was very friendly and put my name down, saying they'd call me when they were ready. It took about 15 minutes before they had a room, but that was fine. It was crowded in there.

When my name was called, I was ushered into a room and asked what I was looking for. I told her I would try on anything at first to figure out what size I am, but that I usually wear a demi style. She then asked me to take my shirt off so she could see how my current bra fit. She left the room, I took it off, and she came back in. No measuring tape made an appearance, but these women can look at you and tell your size.

The next half hour or so went like this: she left, brought back one bra for me to try, looked, adjusted, and tried to convince me that it fit. I thanked her and she brought another one. None of them fit me. This isn't a case of "wow this new size is uncomfortable," it was a case of "we only have 10 bras in this size so you need to buy this one."

I'm sorry, but when the cup is baggy, or the tip of the underwire scoops up into my skin, I'm not buying that bra. She told me that it was just going to be baggy. I was standing there, wearing the last bra she brought me, and said "I don't think it's going to happen today. None of these fit." She just stood there and looked at me. I said "I mean, thanks?" And she said nothing, immediately walked out of the fitting room, and completely disappeared for the rest of the time I was in the store. Sorry for wasting your time, I guess? I felt really bad.

While waiting for my friend, I idly browsed the store... Another saleswoman on the floor asked me if I was finding everything ok and I got upset... but she was very reassuring and told me I could come back to try again another day. I still left feeling like a mutant who should make do with an ill-fitting bra because nothing will ever fit me, guilty that I hadn't bought anything, and angry for having been made to feel that way in the dressing room.

My friends have had life-changing positive experiences here (the one who was with me that day found several pieces to purchase! yay!) so, again, I did have very high expectations from their stories of success. They both have rather large racks, and me not quite as much, so I think you might have better luck with their selection if you're on the fuller side of hard-to-fit. Still, the customer service during my fitting was the biggest disappointment. I don't think I'll be back.

I had a wonderful experience! The salesperson knew immediately that my sister was a 34H and that I was a 34C...no measurements necessary.

It's not a place to browse-you should go there only if you are on a mission to buy a bra and are prepared to be helped. It's quite small as well.

I am not giving 5 stars because the salesperson did not ask us how much we wanted to spend. I think since the prices can vary so greatly,
it's a good idea to ask in the beginning so that expectations are set.

I will certainly come here again.

The first time is like your premiere visit to a gyn or I would imagine the first medical professional for a guy who holds your junk and makes you cough. However once the professionalism, necessity and trust kicks in you would never see anyone else after a good experience and good outcome.

Yes, the ladies are all up in your boobs and back sausage while you explain why gravity has been unkind out loud or to yourself. Also you are flabbergasted at the seemingly wayyyyyy off base cup and back strap sizes they assign you but F, they know what they are doing cause the girls were so comfortable and perky after a proper fitting. Get over the numbers and letters. Go for the best fit.

I'm pretty sure the women work on comish but I think they are super helpful and act really as your personal fitter and shopper.  If you are on a  a budget you need to be clear because they will bring you the most gorgeous and expensive bras but they'll work with you if you tell them what they've brought to your personal dressing room is out of range.

I can never leave here with just one bra.  For the past three years I've made a pilgrimage uptown about once a year and dropped a pretty penny on about 4 great bras. Of course I have dipped in for special occasion pieces like a strapless etc. My point is you get your money's worth.  I can't tell you how much money I've dropped on cheap shit Victoria's Secret or department store bras that break down quickly and don't even fit well.  Especially if you are a bigger titty momma like me, the right fit means no back pain, no shoulder pain and a beautiful silhouette that's slimming and sexy.

In short I live for experiences like this and I sing this store's praises all the time. Amen to the Caribbean and Jewish ladies who have seen it all in the body department and are as professional as any intimate doctor.  Trust they've seen worse... go get a proper fitting and a high quality bra.  It will change your life!

Town Shop has a great selection of underwear of varying fanciness - though definitely more on the side of fancy. Not the crazy fancy prices, though! Plus, there's a full rack of sale bras and underwear right in the front of the store. So, A+ for selection.

(I had just gone to a more upscale - and more expensive - lingerie store earlier in the day, so that probably colored my experience here.)

Pretty soon after I arrived in the store, one of the women working here (I forgot her name!) came up to me and my friend and asked if we were looking for anything in particular. I mentioned that I was looking for a strapless bra, and she whisked us away to the back. I had assumed that's where the strapless bras were, but she immediately took us to a changing room. This was a little surprising - and a bit off putting.

Nonetheless, she brought me two strapless bras to try. She didn't really help me get into the bra in the way that the person helping me at the fancier store did. (I guess this difference in service is not surprising.) I also feel like I had to ask specific questions to elicit a response - such as the obvious question (to me), "Which bra is better?"

Their 15-day return policy is pretty awesome, and I took advantage of this policy by buying two and returning the one that didn't work for my dress.

Not sure I'd go out of my way to come here again, but, then again, I don't have much experience in this department!

Still a favorite place.  Staff and selection are amazing.  Bought a bra and hesitated at buying the matching underwear because it was $34.00.  Returned a week or so later and the sales associate not only remembered me but asked if I had returned to buy the underwear! Of course I did!  This place is not cheap, but if you appreciate excellent quality products and fabulous customer service, this is your lingerie store!

Last time I was here I needed a strapless for a wedding. My breasts are big, so I can't just go into a regular department store and get a strapless. I need a well-made, strong, quality bra. So I went to Town Shop.

This time I needed a deep plunge, convertible bra. Also for a wedding.  Once again, I headed to Town Shop.  I added my name to the list, waited about ten minutes and in another 15 minutes, I was heading out with a super bra that did the job.  I was expecting the bra to be very pricy, but it wasn't.  It wasn't cheap either, but I'll take $60 dollars over $80.  Either way, as long as my girls look good in my dress, I'm happy.

If you need a special bra and you've big up top, definitely go to Town Shop.  It's worth the money to have a good fitting bra.

I'm glad the people seemed to like this establishment but this place provided me with an awful, indifferent experience and I would never go back again. Gaudy storefront sign aside, the place was relatively disorganized looking with nightwear, underwear and swimsuits up front and all the bras behind the line. Nobody offerred any assistance to me when I came in which is a shame because the place wasn't that large that I could manage to go unnoticed. When I finally realized I needed to go back, the whole process seemed very much like a conveyor belt of put the girl in a bra quick and move on to the next sort of way. The woman I had wasn't mean but she wasn't much of anything and I'm sorry but if you're going to be checking out MY boobs I'm going to need something a little more gentle and inviting. I told her what I was looking for and she showed me ONE bra...to the point where I didn't feel like bothering her to ask to see other styles. She was good at figuring out the size but there was no desire to show me other things and I had to ask if it came in different colors. Her actually taking the time to show me other things would have most likely resulted in me spending more money in there than I had originally planned.

At the front when I paid the guy behind the register wasn't friendly nor did he really give me the time of day during the whole transaction and it left me with a really sour taste in my mouth. Honestly if you're going in knowing what you want and can be assertive then this place may be fine for you (or you may get a nicer saleswoman), but otherwise I would suggest going to Linda's which is directly across town, a lot more subdued, and a lot nicer.

After researching several locations around the city, I finally decided to go to Town Shop for a real fitting.

I'm big up top and I've known for a long time, by the fact that I've constantly had to adjust my bra, all day, for years, that I've been wearing the wrong size.

Victoria's secret told me I was a 40DD, it turns out I'm a 34GG.  It's amazing how different you feel when you are wearing the right size.  And how much better you look.

I was there for about an hour, I tried on about 7 bras.  Different styles.  The woman who helped me was very helpful, friendly and knew what she was doing.  She just looked at me and knew which size to bring.

The prices are pretty moderate, all of the bras she showed me were between $50 and $70.  That may seem steep to some, but honestly, once you put on the right bra, the price doesn't bother you.  It's an investment in yourself and it's completely worth it.  They do have a pretty full sale rack, I didn't take a look, but I will in the future.

I left with one bra, because I want to get used to this new size first, haha.  But I will definitely return.  For myself and for friends.

My experience at Town Shop wasn't as aggressive or as mind-blowing as previous yelpers.  All around--3 stars for service, 4 for product.

I went on a weekday afternoon and didn't have to wait at all.  I was whisked into a fitting room, and was actually asked my bra size, which seems to be a rarity with other customers.  I told her what I had been buying, but that I've lost some weight and may need a different size.  She had me take my shirt off, came back in, checked the fitting of my current bra, and disappeared.

Here's where slight frustration comes in.  She came back with only one bra, waited for me to try it on, and then seemed reluctant to go back in search of more when I wasn't crazy about the style of the first one.  She also balked at my request to stay close to $75, although other yelpers have said they got bras around that price there.  Sure enough, when pressed, they had plenty of $75 bras in my size for me to try--I guess this particular employee was having a long day and didn't feel like searching.

When I put my foot down and got a handful to actually try, I came away with two (under $75!) bras that fit wonderfully.  I'm definitely happy with my purchases.  My advice though: Go in knowing what you want, and go in aggressively.  Don't buy the first thing they bring you.  Make them give you options, and you'll like what you end up with.

Be prepared to show your boobies. A lot!!!

This is a full service bra shop, therefore you cannot come in and browse for what you want. You go to a counter where a salesperson looks you up and down and then asks what you are looking for. They will tell you what size you are, not ask. you're probably wearing the wrong size anyway.

You tell them if you want an everyday bra, a special bra, strapless etc or something else. They have everything there.

Then they bring you into a dressing room where you are to strip from the waist up and wait for the salesperson to come into the room with you and give you the selections she has picked for you.

Sounds scary? ok, the first time you go it is, especially if you haven't flashed your tata's to strangers in awhile. These women have seen everything, and I mean everything because this place specializes in hard to fit tits. Small ones, big ones, HUGE ones, square ones, (wait what?) ok not square ones but regardless of your shape and size, this store has the bra for you and will make your bazongas look great.

It's like getting a boob makeover, and I recommend it at least once a year.

The prices are higher than bloomies or Lord and Taylor, but I don't think they are sizing you at those places.

Seriously, if this shop doesn't make your girls stand at attention, no where will.

The scary women who work here can tell your bra size before you cross Broadway, using their laser tit-ometer eyes, and they will not sell you a bra that doesn't fit no matter how you beg.

Great bra fitting and great selection.

Scary as all-get-out militant women who work here and you gotta be ready for all hands on deck.  If you're really shy about showing it all, you might have a heart attack here, but based on the way you behaved on Girls Gone Wild, I think you'll be fine.

Zero friendliness especially from the owner  - clearly a T&A guy to be running a bra shop but I think it inherited it from his parents....(the shop, not a fetish)...

Go here for the results, not the experience or the ambiance.

I had a great experience, my salesperson looked young but was very knowledgeable and the owner paid special attention to me when he found out I was a referral from my/his friend John F.

A small shop crammed full of bras, panties and lingerie.  I went on a Tuesday around 12 noon and there must have been 8 salespeople and 6 patrons.  I went up to a couple of salesgirls and explained I think I am wearing the incorrect sized bra and would like to be fitted and purchase some bras.

My salesperson found an empty room and measured me and started to bring in bra's for me to try on.  I was wearing a 38 A and ended up buying two 34 B's and a 36 B.  So my lesson learned is to try on the bra then can stick with that brand/model if I like it.  Average prices of my bras I chose by Natori and Wacola were $50-60.  There were far pricier items.  This shop definately caterers to the hard to fit.  There were all shaped women there and finding their sizes.

Great experience here!  I asked for reasonably priced, lace-free bras and was shown several choices with no lace, all under $75.  I picked two everyday colors and one fun color.  They had a wide selection of styles including matching sets.  Best part- no searching around for your size, they bring everything to you!
The saleswoman was very friendly but also efficient.  She sized me up as a 30B which explained why off the rack bras always ride up on me.  She informed me that TS does not stock my size regularly, but that they offer alterations (pretty sure this was free) on the band.  She fitted the bras to my cup size, measured how much the band needed to be taken in, and marked it.  The alterations were ready within a week and shipped to me for about $5. The bras held up very well and I definitely intend to go back.

This is an experience that every woman should have at least once. Townshop is not like La Perla or Agent Provocateur where you get to walk around and casually look at fancy lingerie debating whether or not to try it on. Oh no. This store has a mission that it will carry out.

Upon walking in you generally immediately get approached by a staff member who asks you what you are looking for. Just browsing is not an option. So lets say you need a nice black bra for everyday use that is also pretty enough for intimate occasions. Would seem to be a common request. Different options are then selected for you from the downstairs storage area and presented by this staff member. But wait. You don't actually get to look through the options and pick based on appearance alone. At this point you're brought into the fitting room and instructed to remove the clothing from the upper half of your body and to then bend over parallel to the floor. The associate then places the first option on your dangling breasts and fastens you up. To some this may seem demoralizing and inappropriate when described, but rest assured they're very professional. At this point you finally get to look at the first bra. They explain how it does or does not fit appropriately and finally you start to understand the reason for this whole intense process. You then of course get to try on each selection made for you and discuss which is the best choice.

As a woman who is kind of a rare size naturally (34 G or H) shopping at Victoria's Secret isn't an option. I first purchased bras at Townshop 6 years ago and I am still wearing those same bras today. One of them finally tore a few months ago in a lacey area and another one is missing a fastener in one area, but overall they've held up remarkably well. All of them are made by Prima Donna which is the only brand of bras that I continue to buy.

Now Townshop does not have the most competitive prices. You definitely can find the same items on the internet for less. HOWEVER, the service, albeit a little strange at first, is such an amazing resource for all women. It's important to keep businesses like this around.

Thanks Townshop. You changed my life.

Yes, the saleswomen are invasive and the bras are expensive, but the results are amazing.  They'll also readjust your straps for free once they start to stretch and the organic hand washing detergent they sell is gentler and works so much better than woolite to preserve the elasticity in all your

I went in on a Saturday afternoon. There was a fair number of people in the store, but it was only a 15 minute wait before they could fit me. I didn't even have to wait in the store  - they took down my number and I had my crack-of-noon coffee, and 10 min later, voila, my fitting room was ready. The woman who helped me was incredibly professional and friendly. She told me my bra size without ever pulling out a tape measure, and of the bras she brought out, most felt like they were custom-made for me, and so cute too! One of the best shopping experiences of my life!

A word on the prices - they carry nice brands so most bras are in the 50-80 range (although I got a really cute one for $32!) but Town Shop doesn't jack up the prices - they all go for MSRP and no charge for the fitting. And I have to say you get what you pay for!

Yes, yes, very interesting approach. But the price tag? Holy moly!

My first experience with Town was for Halloween...I was going as a Freudian slip (put on slip, apply sign that says Freudian, better give me credit for it if you use that!!). I stopped in here and promptly realized that a slip is about $200. Right, Way too much for a Halloween costume, don't you think?

The next experience never quite happened as the sales lady was rather nasty. I don't need to deal with this, I'd rather go look through the racks myself than get sized up like a piece of meat.

I give it an extra star because they do have some beautiful honeymoon style pieces of lingerie, but I doubt I'd come here to get them anyway.

With my friend's recommendation, I embraced the Groupon deal for Town Shop and stopped by to check it out. I wasn't expecting that you can't browse the bras, that they have to size you up and hand you the selection. My fitter kind of just sized me up, then threw two bras at me. She was very efficient, but the service was a tad cold for something so intimate as being fitted. The selection in my size was also very small, so I didn't have much choice. I did end up walking away with a couple of things, but I don't think I'll become a regular.

I'm giving this place five stars because they provide an extremely important--to women who are well-endowed--service. If you have ever had problems finding bras that fit you right off the rack, GO HERE. If you haven't had this problem but are willing to spend some money to get bras that look and feel great, go here too. I've been to all the custom-fitting-type lingerie stores in the city, and this one is the best.

They do very accurate fittings. Be prepared to be shocked by your true bra size; it will be at LEAST one cup size larger than you expected, and possibly several more, and your band will be smaller. Your new, correctly fitting bra will be shockingly supportive! If you are "busty," and particularly if you are thin and busty, this store will save your life...all your clothes will look better, and you will feel better.

These bras are not cheap. The cheapest bras are around $50.00. However, I own two of those bras (the molded Fantasie t-shirt bras) and they are amazing. They will custom tailor anything you need for free, which is especially useful when you're technically a 28 band size (regular stores don't sell below a 32).

The wait is usually not too log. The saleswomen are hit or miss. Some of them are great, some are not, they tend to be somewhat brusque. I never look at the fancy lingerie or swimwear because it's very expensive and I choose to spend $50+ on purely practical underthings.

I did a lot of research before headed to Town Shop this past Saturday. I had an amazing experience. I walked into the shop, which was pretty crowded. Not only was there a 40% off sale, it was the weekend. I wrote my name on the list and browsed until my name was called. The wait was less than five minutes. I made my way to the back of the store into a dressing room. The shop is very small but they are well stocked with recognizable brands, they even sell swimsuits.

Aisha was my saleswoman, not only was she really polite and helpful, she was fast. I never felt rushed or uncomfortable, and she answered all my questions. I informed her of my price range and the type of bra I needed. (Seventy dollars and an everyday, work bra in nude or black). She came back with a chocolate colored, Fantasie bra for $49. It was a perfect fit. Who knew I had to go down a band size and up by quite a few cups. (No I will not disclose my new size!). I ended up buying two bras (one for work and a lace one for nicer occasions) I plan to go back for more.

I think this shop is good for women who have not been correctly fitted. I don't think department stores can beat specialty shops in customer service or knowledge. Did I mention Aisha eyeballed my size correctly!

If you have larger or fuller breasts, please run to Town Shop it is worth the investment. My new bra fits so well, I feel and look 5 pounds lighter.

We went to Town Shop on a recent trip to NY based on the reviews on this site.  We were not disappointed at all.

My girlfriend finished nursing a while back and was still sadly wearing her nursing bras.  She was determined to get a bunch of new, pretty bras in her new mysterious size.  She was in a fitting room within five minutes.  All the bras the saleswoman brought her fit perfectly.  I won't tell you her new size here (mostly because I can't remember) but they had a great selection of pretty stuff in size huge and bigger.  She bought about six bras, most of them on sale, and a range of matching panties.  She was and is thrilled.  She went into the store worried that she would be judged for the nastiness of the bra she was wearing but nothing like that happened at all. She was treated with kindness and respect.

I have tiny boobs that just got even smaller.  I was wearing my correct size but I was tired of the ever-stretching Victoria's Secret crappy bras.  My saleswoman brought me so many perfectly-fitting cute bras, I had a hard time choosing.  Some of them made my boobs look bigger but not in that awful foamy-mound way.  They had all the matching panties in stock and I left $300 poorer but laden with four new sets of lingerie.  One set in particular by Natori is the most gorgeous piece of lingerie I have ever owned.

Every six months or so, I have to fly into NYC for a meeting in this neighborhood, and I am starting to make stopping by this shop a must-happen on these trips.  They have an excellent selection bra and panty selection in a very wide variety of styles and sizes.  The only downside- a few things- like the Wolford stockings- are just a wee bit overpriced.  It probably would have been worth it to zip down to Soho and hit Wolford directly, but, overall, this is a great shop.

And, if you're Canadian ... those Spanx tights that you're paying $40 for up here ... $26 at this shop, with no sales tax.  We need our tights in Canada.  Stock up!

BE CAREFUL and stand up for yourself!

Maybe it was just the saleswoman I got, she was nice but....

When I got there I was informed (after showing her my rack) that my band size was two sizes smaller than I normally buy. OK, I thought. No problem. That's why I'm here.

She brought me some bras, I tried 'em on.  She says the band size is perfect.  I feel like it's pretty tight, definitely more so than I'm used to, but whatever, maybe I've been wrong all these years. She sticks her fingers in the band and goes "nope, this is definitely the right size." So I purchased a bra from her.

Two days later I put on the bra, still feels a little tight in the band but I suck it up and go to work. BIG MISTAKE. I'm at my desk ten minutes and  I can't breathe, the bra is chafing and leaving red marks, it itches like crazy, and the front is curling up under the pressure.

I only hope that the bra extenders I ordered online to fix the problem will work (I may even need to hook two of them in a row!). Otherwise I'm out $65.

If you do go to Town Shop, make sure you really give the bras a workout before purchasing. I wouldn't put any faith in their ability to do a fitting. Which makes me kinda wonder why a person would go there at all.

They do very accurate custom bra fitting.  I was at first a little skeptical because the girl who helped me looked barely out of college, and she didn't use a measuring tape or anything other than her bare eyes.  But she was right! Once I tried on the size she recommended, the improvement was obvious.

Shopping at the store itself is something of an acquired taste, I think. There is no ambiance to speak of.  My experience there reminds me of the frenzied grab-fest on a sale day at the original Filene's Basement.  Once you enter the fitting room, the sales person will get everything to you, but until then, you'll have to fend for yourself in the front, amidst  the unflattering fluorescent lights and the screaming children who are bored of waiting for their mothers.

The prices seem reasonable, though the lines they carry are more for everyday use rather than for special occasions. This is probably not the place to get your fashion lingerie. The night gowns and robes on display are mostly polyesters or other blends.  At a quick glance, I saw nothing that was 100% silk or even cotton.  Still, I am a fan of this store because we need more places that sell no-frills bras that fit us correctly.

I have been looking for bras for what feels like one hundred years...although I'm no where near 100 years old.  I recently lost over 180 lbs and because of this my ta-ta's are saggier than a Carol Burrnett skit.  Mickey, the associate that worked with me, was AMAZING!  She not only found me bras that fit, but they have stood up in the months to follow.  I have been fitted before for bras and I have spent what has felt like millions over time, but this place has it right.

Expect to walk in and be met by an associate that will just take you to a dressing room.  Mickey didn't even think of touching a measuring tape.  She just knew, and in flew all that bras I could imagine.  And she made it fun.  :)

Swimsuit season is just around the corner, and they sell those as well, with support of your breasts as the focus, which is different than anywhere else.  I am looking forward to stopping in there soon to get one.

If you are looking for a place to get quality lingerie (especially in specialty sizes) on the UWS, this is the place to go.

I've been to Bra Smyth and some other places in the area whose names I can't remember, and the staff has generally seemed overly interested (never leaving the changing room, ever) or totally uninterested, but at Town Shop, my saleslady was friendly and unintrusive. She checked the bra I came in wearing and agreed that my size was spot on, before leaving to find me a few bras according to what I asked for.

Prices are about standard for specialty bra shops and the brands they stock, but if you're a standard size and used to Victoria's Secret or Bloomingdales for your bra purchases, you might think they're steep.

I am one satisfied customer who will be back.

Horrible, awful customer service.  I was interested in trying on two slips which were out of stock.  They told me that the slips were on order, likely to come in the following week, and that they would call me once restocked.  I called Friday of the following week to ask about the shipment since I hadn't received a call, and they treated me like I was bothering them.

Oh man - sorry boys but my twins have NEVER been better taken care of.
This place makes me want to cry tears of joy. Yeah you have to flash a salesgirl your business but who cares!?
I LOVE being doted on and this place catered to me like I was the Queen of England. I had my own personal salesgirl who was SO nice and brought whatever I wanted into the sales room. I didn't have to pour through racks scouring for my size. I was just deposited into the dressing room in the back and she brought piles of bras in the exact right size and changed out anything I wanted for different color/material/cut whatever I said!
I ended up spending an obscene amount of money here but I've never been happier. This is one of those shops that doesn't seem to exist anywhere outside of New York - take advantage ladies!
I went home, put one of my new bras on, and tried on my tightest clothes to see how much better they looked. WAY better! Before you go shopping for new clothes this week - go to Town Shop and get some new bras! You'll never look better.

Picture this: It was the day of my wedding. Getting my hair done took twice as long as planned. Getting from the salon to the Upper West Side took forever, and when I got there, I realized I hadn't packed my understuffs. FML. Where would I go? What would I do? I walked into Town Shop with Sarita M  and resisted all desires to throw myself at the saleswoman's feet crying: "I'm getting married in 4 hours and have no undergarments! Heeeeeeeeeeeeelp!". The staff here is great, they teamed up to get me exactly what I needed as fast as possible with a few options. I was in and out like a flash and the stuff I bought was great quality and fit.

If you have a big rack and aren't satisfied with the support provided by your current bra, you need to visit the Town Shop.  It's not cheap, but your girls are worth it.  The woman who helped me was not intrusive at all, and seemed to have a mystical knowledge of breasts & brassieres. She taught me how to put my bra on properly - oh yes, there's a technique.  I am really happy with my purchases.  I recommend you buy their special detergent.

I've walked by this store a million times, dismissing it as yet another lingerie place where women who wear smaller sizes have more of a selection.  That's true at many places, but not here.  I saw an article about Town Shop that sang its praises as a custom fitting store, in which fuller figured gals could find stuff that was cute and feminine, instead of the usual boring, matronly fare.  So I checked it out, dreading having to look through racks of bras, but the saleswoman did all of the work.

The saleswoman was patient, professional and knowledgeable.  She spent a lot of time bringing me very adorable everyday and sexier styles that yes...are expensive.  I dropped a chunk of change at this place.  But I've spent a lot on bras in the past that just did not fit all that well, and I thought that was how bras just were supposed to fit.  Not so.

The bras aren't perfect, but they're better than most bras I've owned, and I can understand why this place has its loyal customers.

Edit: The recent bad reviews made me think about my experience.  Yes, the bras were expensive.  It's a good point that the system that is set up at this place is rigged so that you don't really know what your options truly are.  Makes me want to go back and give them a budget to work with, and see what kind of treatment I receive.

Like Intimacy over on the UES, Townshop is a pretty good place to get professionally fitted (which I encourage every woman to do!!!) And Townshop has a bit of an advantage over Intimacy in that it is bigger and carries a wider selection. But I have not always enjoyed the service here, and the prices (like Intimacy and every other brick-and-mortar bra salon I've ever encountered) are inexcusably high. I've said it before and I'll say it again: If you're cursed (or blessed, depending on how you look at it) with a hard-to-find bra size and want to not spend a small fortune, then get yourself fitted, try on a bunch of brands to see which ones work for you, and then order them online. Much cheaper that way.
