I have stayed in more hotels than I'd like to admit and I enjoyed this one a lot.
I came over Valentine's day to visit my boyfriend who works around the area and he got us a room on the 15th floor. The room was super clean, the bed was amazingly comfortable...I loved the down comforters and big pillows. The bathroom was roomy and there were always lots of clean towels. I love hotels that have vanities, so I can sit and do my makeup and this one had a great big one. I loved waking up in the morning and going downstairs to Starbucks right outside my elevator. The pool was indoor/outdoor, which was nice. The workout room was great. It's also right across the street from the mall, which was a huge plus for me, as I had a couple of days to do whatever I wanted and didn't know the area that well.
The only thing I wasn't super stoked was the room service. It took 45 minutes and when it got to my room it was cold. But as soon as I called they made me a new order and brought it straight up steaming hot.
I did not stay at this hotel, but rather, attended a seminar/sales pitch for Optionetics.
A bit tricky walking out the the parking structure, as there's no pedistrain access from the enterance; you have to find the elevator or stairwell near the middle of the complex.
Parking was in a secured, indoor lot. No attendant to take your money, so you get to feed the machine and it'll spit out $1 coins in change.
Exhibitor rooms were nice, but the speakers weren't really up to par and tended to 'pop' every so often. Note to exhibitors: bring your own PA system.
Seminar itself was a sales pitch for Optionetics, a firm that specialies in finanacial education. $3495 for a 2-day seminar in Marina Del Rey? Uh, that's a bit out of my budget and good thing I googled Optionetics and saw all those lovely negative reviews; think I only saw a few postive ones.
At least the rock garden area/outdoor dining looked nice, but they needed to buss a couple table. No one was outside but it still didn't look presentable.

I stayed here for two nights for a friend's wedding and really wasn't expecting anything more than a clean place to sleep and shower, but was highly impressed with the service and style of this hotel. The location is an easy walk to Del Amo Mall, which offers good restaurants and a movie theater in the outdoor "lifestyle wing." Hotel employers were extremely polite, room service was prompt and yummy, the bar was a great place for a nightcap, and there is an in-house Starbucks. With an AAA discount, the rate was very reasonable - around $110 a night. This will definitely be my go-to place when I need to stay in the South Bay.

I was hired for an event at the Torrance Mariott this past weekend and as the event was 15 hours long with only small breaks, I became very familiar with the renovations that have apparently happened just recently here.
The lobby looks like a Marriott and a W had a love child that makes the Marriott quite proud while the W would shun the little bastard. I kinda liked it. Nice bar with these 26 foot LED visuals of water drops coming down the side like a big cold bottle of beer.
Nice rooms. A step up. But no fridge. I think they want you to purchase all of your goodies on-site. And the beds are REALLY comfortable.
All in all, a good experience. A fan-freakin-tastic experience for a Marriott.

I come here every year for a small trade convention. It is located next to the Del Amo mall.
I have not actually stayed at this hotel but from it's location it has to be a business hotel.
The lobby is small but they do have a bar with a kind of trendy back wall where water flows. They also have a full size Starbucks inside with all the usual including the food.
Parking is a breeze because they have their own parking structure for those who want to self park and not valet.
If you stay here you will have plenty of options of places to eat as well as shopping with all the places at the mall and the surrounding area.

Have not stayed in the rooms -- just visited as I regularly see flight attendant friends who stay at this hotel. The rooms are the usual American look - like any other random room pretty much anywhere in the country. Parts of the hotel have gone through renovations fairly recently, and I believe this included the lobby. It's a bit sterile for my taste and strangely shaped but there's adequate seating, a waterfall-type thing that I find a tad cheesy and you have the ever-present Starbucks branch in one corner to feed your caffeine addiction.
The elevators take forever to arrive when it's busy and make some strange sounds in the process. I hear people get stuck. I expected far more from the breakfast buffet -- boring, bland food and not a good value for what is served. Overall, this hotel is just very, very average.
This hotel has recently undergone a multi-million dollar renovation designed to give the hotel more appeal to the younger travelers. I stayed here while the renovation was still underway, but by the looks of the progress and the newsletter in my room, the public space area might actually be a cool place to hang out. Anyway the beds are very comfortable, the pool, hot tub and workout room are top notch. The restaurant serves excellent cuisine, and the concierge floor has great complimentary food morning and night. I love this hotel, and it is close to the beach and the airport, with only a 15-25minute drive up to Hollywood and Beverly Hills.

I had been wanting to see David Beckam play at the Home Depot Center in Carson. I purchased a 2 for 1 night coupon on ebay for the Marriot Torrance and thats how the trip came together. I paid about $150 for 2 nights. Bed was excellent. There is a big mall next door which my wife spent about 6 hours in. We also went to the Torrance farmers market on Saturday which was nice. We enjoyed the Home Depot Center and the game and saw Beckam up close. I had to do a lot of talking for them to except the coupon is the only reason I took the one star off.
This is an awesome hotel.
