Ligaya found Tony completely last minute on Craigslist and for $35/hour, he seemed like a steal! We needed to move the ping pong table and a bunch of boxes back to the office from the Exploratorium, and Tony reassured her over the phone that he had a huge van that would hold everything.
He arrived on time, but when he pulled up in a beat up soccer mom minivan, we had serious reservations. No rack on the top of his van, and barely any space in the back, we thought we were going to have to turn him away. But again, he assured us that it was "No problem!"
Well, Tony proved us wrong. Just him and a hand truck, he moved all the stuff into his van and shimmied the ping pong table onto his roof by himself in an hour.
Who knows if strapping the ping pong table to his roof like that was legal, but the way he rigged it up there was awesome. When I looked in my rearview mirror as I led him back to the office this is what we saw:

LMAO! Every time we waved back at him, he gave us 2 thumbs up. How could you not give this guy 5 stars for his resourcefulness and positive attitude?!
So it's the day after the holiday party, and we've got a ping pong table and thirteen boxes, and the movers that we hired only have an open truck bed. What do to? Why consult Craiglist, of course!
At 9am I frantically call Tony, and he tells me in a calm voice that he's the man for the job, and his van can accommodate. At 10:30 on the dot we see him roll up to the Exploratorium in a Mazda van. I'm talking soccer mom style. "Ummmm," I say, "Remember that ping pong table I told you about?"
"No worries," he says. and flashes me a toothy grin. Connie and I are incredulous but out of necessity we oblige. Twenty minutes later the van is expertly packed, table juryrigged with spiderlike webbing to the top (rackless) and we're off!
We drive back to the office with Tony's hand stabilizing the roof cargo, hopping out every two blocks to adjust, but we make it back glitchless. This man will get the job done. His can-do attitude is infectious, and his prices rock bottom. Tony, I'm a believer!
I used Tony twice on moves that did not require a truck (Door to Door pod container). He IS the hardest working man in the moving business. He is prompt, fair, polite, strong, and most of all fast!
