the house special pizza is a must! kind of dumpy place in a cool way. Servers are miserable but adds to the whole experience. I love it in a weird -abusive way!

Yelp, I need more than a 5 star ranking scale - there should be a ranking between 'meh' and 'a-ok'.
This place is popular, and frequently recommended for cheap decent food available until late night (I think 3am). The pizza is small and reminds me of the frozen pizza available in supermarkets, in size and taste (is it baked?). It arrives extremely hot, so watch yourself or you will burn the roof of your mouth. The prices are good, but I prefer better food. -

When I'm in AC I always make sure to stop at Tony's for the pizza and a good old fashion red sauce Italian dishes. The servers do a great job and the pizza is some of the best I've had. The beer is always ice cold as well.
If you want a cheap dinner and get away from the expensive places in the casinos then Tony's is the place. It's located right in front of the Tropicana on Atlantic Ave, its easy to park as well. you'll think your back in the 50's. -

Don't be fooled by all the good reviews. The decor at this place hasn't changed since 1964 but the food sure has. Known for their legendary thin crisp pizzas. The pizza was limp and soggy and almost $16 with a few toppings. To top things off they forgot to deliver one of the other items.

Review from Dani K.
The hype around this place is insane. "It has the best pizza." "It's been around forever." "It hasn't changed since it opened up forever ago." With all this positive feedback in our heads as we sat down, the place wasn't what we expected.
-The waitress, knowing we were from out of town and tourists, bragged the whole time how she came here as a kid and it hasn't changed once. She's prideful, I get it, but every single time she came over, she had to talk down on us because we haven't lived here like she had. It was annoying.
-The pizza...well, for the bark it was getting, the bite was hardly there. After pondering a while, it was the sauce. The crust tasted like breadsticks, which was delicious, and the cheese was perfect. But the sauce tasted like straight-up tomato. No seasoning or any other flavor. It wasn't my preference.
-I think people like the history of the place rather than the food and service.Listed in: Atlantic City

If you enjoy eating cheap, gooey & tasty dive bar pizza, you will enjoy Tony's Baltimore Grill.
As with most places in Atlantic City, you will dine in the company of some questionable human beings. Do not let your gaze linger, lest you risk a stabbing.Listed in: Hey Steve, did ya bring me any…

This was the best pizza I've had in a long time. It was also the best food I had in Atlantic City during my stay.
A two-topping pizza is like 12 bucks, and its good enough for two people.
Their sausage is delicious, and the pizza is amazing.
If you want good pizza, but want to save money for the slots, Tony's is the place. -
Review from Amar S.

5 stars ONLY for the pizza. The rest of the food is sub-par bar food and the service is almost non-existent accept for the two older women. They do not accept credit cards so bring cash or your debit card to use the ATM. The pizza is well worth it.

Rough looking on the outside, not too fancy on the inside but the food and price are the attractions. We had wine, pasta and salads. Lots of bread. We left very full. The restaurant and restrooms were spotless and the waitress was very friendly.

Considering all of the "best pizza" hype around this place, I expected better. A LOT better. Pizza was bland, no wonder they serve garlic salt and dried basil with it. Even the sausage on the pizza was bland.
Antipasto, for $7, was a joke. It was basically a pile of lettuce topped with 2 slices of cheese and 2 pieces of meat, surrounded by half a hard-boiled egg, nondescript olives out of a can, and a few pieces of sliced carrot. No dressing, btw. The only dressing Tony's has is vinegar and oil.
Refills were not offered for soft drinks.
Why all of the undeserved hype?
I can think of at least a dozen places in Pittsburgh that have better pizza than this place, and Pittsburgh is not exactly the pizza capitol of the world. -

This is the best pizza in AC for sure.....reasonably priced (cash only) and with considerably cheaper drinks than nearby spots (Quarter). Type of place bartenders/waitresses in the city hit up after work.
Certainly an institution in Atlantic City. Perfect for a casual dining night or taking a pie back to your room at the casino - a must try. -

Ordered take out from this usually very reliable place. The sausage pizza was as usual excellent and probably among the best in South Jersey.
The problem rested with the Antipasto. The container was barely half-fllled and was very skimpy on the meats and anchovies. It was mostly lousy chunky iceberg lettuce and onions. Whoever was making the salad was really a cheapo and was trying to save a few pennies by cheating me on the meats and anchovies. It is obvious there were trying to be cheap with the salad.
The antipasto was barely average in quality as well and not nearly like it used to be. It always was packed to the top with salad and plenty of meat. Don't know what is going on but not a good day for the salad maker for sure.
Best advice if you go here is get the pizza and don't get any salads for take-out since you will get cheated. I am hoping it was a bad salad day and not a new pattern. -
Review from Michael D.

I only tried the pizza (sausage and pepperoni) which was reasonably priced ($11.60) and very good.
The meat was fresh with large chunks of sausage.
The crust was cooked more than I'm accustomed to, but very tasty and not too much.
A "large" pizza was smaller than I expected, but more than enough for 2 people.
The service was prompt and very polite.
Street parking was difficult, even in the winter.
Overall a good stop for pizza. Will have to try the other stuff at a later date. -

When my business partner and I came to Atlantic City this week, I told him I wanted to try the best pizza in town. He grew up in AC and suggested that we stop by Tony's Baltimore Grill for Pizza. I'm glad that he did!
The Pizza was absolutely amazing! I ordered a pizza with Sausage & Pepperoni. He ordered a Pepperoni. The crust was moist and the pizza was cooked slightly well done. I normally like my pizza more well done, but I didn't want to mess with their traditional way of cooking pizza.....and I'm glad I didn't.
The people who work there are friendly and have that Jersey attitude....coming from the West Coast, it was like living in the movie Goodfellas....I know that wasn't in Jersey, but you get the point.
Will I come back? The next friggin' time I'm in AC, fuh-getta 'bout it!Listed in: Top Restaurants, Pizza Pizza!, Leave the Gun, Take the…

I want to give this place a better review, but the food is average. The pizzas is Greek style, as in when Greeks open pizza places (which in itself is fine), crispish crust (not cooked on a screen or a stone). There is not enough cheese on the pizza. French fries were frozen, and the waitress could have been nicer/better. It is CHEAP though, and you can drink there 24 hours a day!

Tony's, Tony's, Tony's. Yelp led me to this place after walking 7 miles around Atlantic City's ghetto. First pass through the city, I tried to hit up White House subs. As usual, line was out the door. I decided to walk through the city in hopes of finding another gem. Needless to say, nothing. I found myself back near the Tropicana after walking from Showboat two times. This time I went a bit further and landed at Tony's Baltimore Grill. Now, Trenton isn't too far, and neither was Philly. Cheesesteaks here are known to be as good as Philly, so I was assuming that Pizzas were as good as Trenton's Tomato Pies. Wrong. This pie wasn't bad, but it was put up against Trenton's. It didn't fare well. The pizza was ok, but the crust wasn't that great. The sauce on the other hand was awesome, but not awesome enough to hold this pizza in high regard. If I stop by again, I'll have to try their famous spaghetti. If the sauce is as good as the pizza sauce, this can be my favorite spaghetti joint, being the only one I've ever had.
Forgot to mention, the service was great. -

Stopped by with my gf after the lady gaga concert to avoid traffic. Food was mediocre although we didn't get the pizza which people say is good. Service was worse.
I got a turkey sandwich and asked for mustard. She said she'd bring the mustard on the side. My girlfriend ordered a roast beef sandwich with cheese.
When the food came I had no mustard and she had no cheese. Trying to get the staff's attention was impossible. Finally the waitress came over to see how we are and I reminded her about the mustard. She disappeared again. We started eating the sandwiches and by the time she came back the next time we had no need for mustard but my girlfriend wanted some to use on the fries. AGAIN she was no where to be found. Finally she came back and we asked for the mustard and she brought it.
We asked for the check and it was a whopping $28 dollars. I did the math and she charged us $10 more than she was supposed to. I went to the register and asked the cashier to make sure I wasn't crazy. She confirmed that the price should have been $18 and called the waitress who did the math for herself and told me that i had to pay her not the cashier. I detected a hint of attitude there.
This place got its second star only because the hostess looked like a young Kirsten Dunst. -

Margate City, NJ
Good food in oval shaped platters, friendly waitstaff, kids, old people and an old decor without irony, without being engineered by the Stephen Starr people.
Straightforward Italian food, hot sandwiches, decent clam sauce pizza and people watching. My friend's co-worker gets a meatball sandwich from here EVERY DAY. Also, not that expensive and festive on a Friday night.
Food is three or four stars, but I boost it up to four stars because of the atmosphere. I appreciate wood paneling that reminds me of the Nixon administration.
The pepperoni appetizer could be better pepperoni, but whatever. -

Hands down the best pizza and overall Italian food at an amazing value. Meatballs are the best you'll eat. The Italian bread in Atlantic City is nothing like you'll find anywhere else.
The restaurant itself is very old school and that's part of the charm. Kitchen is open super late and the bar is 24 hours. -

Tony's Baltimore Grill is the most amazing dive bar/restaurant. Our waitress was made of red leather and had short, bleached spiky hair. Perfect. We ordered a white pizza, a beer for my mister and a glass of $3.50 chardonnay for me. I was prompted by the waitress to go for a full bottle for $11 at 5pm. Nice. I declined. The pizza was delicious and we soaked in the dive bar atmosphere while we savored the pizza's cheesy goodness. My favorite aspect of the place besides its insanely dark interior was the section of wall adorned with a sign stating: KITCHEN OPEN DAILY 11a.m to 3a.m. BAR OPEN 24 hrs.

Last night though we had ate earlier my significant other and I decided we were still hungry and since we were staying at The Chelsea Hotel we decided we wanted to eat some where that was in walking distant and it was like already 2 AM...we braved the wind coming from the oceanfront and raced to get a pizza,....Oh the pizza....we decided on ground beef and mushrooms, I felt like my taste buds were doing the happy dance, every delicious, glorious bite was filled, with cheese, ground beef and mushrooms....This old world dining type of pizza left me very satisfied will definitely be back again to try other items from the menu, and even though the kitchen closes @ 3am the bar is open 24/7 and that in itself rocks!!!

My wife & I revisited Tony's, one of our favorite lunch & dinner spots, after 18 years and found that some things don't change! Good family dinner spot and favorite of the locals. Their pizza is among the best. Their sauce and blend of cheeses is unrivaled. Servers are friendly and attentive.

Tony's is one of my all time favorite restaurants! I grew up 10 minutes from AC and have been going to baltimore grill since I was born! My family and I used to go after every miss america parade and anytime we were in AC. I love the old school decor (that my mom has told me hasn't changed at all since she was born) and all the waitresses are incredibly sweet and nice. Everyone loooves the pizza, which yes, is very good, but my favorites are the meatball sub and antipasto. I'm 100% italian and HATE chain italian restaurants, because they are salty and gross. However, Tony's is real, delicious italian food. I would recommend this place to anyone!

I would truly give it a 3.5, however this place is good. It's decent to say the least to a drunkn casino remnant. The pizza is their high point. The place itself is a dive. The employees are kinda shakey. My waitress last time definitley looked like she was a meth-head. Gotta love that. The sausage pizza is usually a go for me but last time I went after the EWF concert, wow it was utterly flavorless. Unfortunatley, this is one of the best pizzas on the island

I have been going to Tony's Baltimore grill ever since I was old enough to walk. This is the best Pizza in Atlantic City, or anywhere period. Thin crust...mmmmm...this stuff is tasty as it gets. I always get the Baltimore Grill Special--Sausage and Mushrooms. I like to get the cucumber salad sometimes too. If you are in Atlantic City and you want good Pizza, Tony's a no-brainer.

Are u kidding me? When we get off the plane.... this is the 1st stop.... same thing every time..... write it down....and don't screw it up.... One basket of bread.... ( It's Michaels family owned bakery, so eat up) Two ala carte orders of fried shrimp... side of macaronis and gravy.....Save some bread for dipping... then eat a cheese pizza.... take home the leftovers and eat it cold for breakfast.... we grew up on this.... there is a reason why the business has been there for like 40 years....

Old pizza tavern in AC... everything you can only dream of in the casinos: charm, character, super cheap beer, bar open 24 hours (kitchen till about 3 I believe) excellent pizza, cool old timer staff, cool building.. Thanks to Todd and Cheryl for introducing us to this special place. Tony's Baltimore RULES!

my dad goes nuts over this place. i think the pizza is pretty good. whenever i go it's always with the family and we always get pizzas with cherry peppers - pretty tasty. the pizzas are made fresh so be prepared to wait a bit for them. beers are super cheap starting $2.25 and i think wine $3. one of these days i'd like to try something aside pizza but regardless it's good and worth making a trip in.

A step back in time with real homemade pizza, throwback style. If it weren't for the noisy dining room, they'd be 5 stars for me.

I am still amazed how poeple just give out stars like its meaningless. Baltimore grill has been around for decades. It hasnt changed. Probably the same waitresses as when I was a kid, and I was a kid before man landed on the moon.
If your nostalgic then sure this is an ok place to eat. By NO means is the food very good, the service awesome or the atmosphere any more than an old paneled basement like place.
The food is fairly cheap. the pizza for 10 bucks is the original soggy done cheaply. How anyone can give this any more stars is again beyond me.
If you get a glass of boxed cheap wine be prepared to up your bill for much more than its worth. I gave this place two stars because it is consistent, the waitresses are surely but maybe this is part of the charm.
Place hasn't changed in 50 years. Maybe its time that the owners spend a bit to bring the eatery up a tad? -

Interesting decor (early '70s). I've never known Atlantic City or Baltimore to be famous for their pizza, but I gave it a shot. Don't set your expectations high and you won't be disappointed (pan baked). The wait staff was very friendly.

ate here on our recent visit to AC, mostly because of yelp reviews. to sum the food up in one word, i'd have to say awful. for those who say this is the best pizza they've ever had, i pity them. canned mushrooms -- must i say more! crust was undercooked and tasted odd, as did the meatball topping, which was more like ground beef. pasta sauce was tasteless. ugh!

Great Atlantic CIty Classic. You can't go wrong with the pizza, but the spaghetti and ravioli are fantastic as well. The place looks likes it hasn't been touched in about 30 years. The jukeboxes at each table work are a lot of fun with a music selection that ranges from Christina to Rush. Bring cash and a conversation.
