Review from André C.
Brooklyn, NY
The Sicilian pie has a crispy bottom, a chewy middle and a gooey, cheesy top. The mushrooms are canned and flavorless, so get the sausage or the pepperoni. Sweet, spicy, wonderful.
The slices are good (great for this neighborhood) but the Sicilian pie is the winner. Also, the staff is friendly and service is fast. The place is always full because everyone in the neighborhood loves this place. -

Tony knows how to do it. For some good, down to earth, pizza come here. $2 for a good brooklyn pizza, a dollar for some knots, and you got yourself a little party. The first time I came here, I got a pie and was thoroughly disappointed. Overall, it wasn't baked well. I gave it another chance with just a slice and was happy. It's not the best, but it's really good.
For a perfect slice (or pie), ask for it crispy. Otherwise, you'll get a quick heated pizza that's not baked to perfection. -

Liked this place.
Shiny tile walls, lots of families speaking Spanish, faded billboard photos of pasta and pizza. A picture of Jesus hanging from the cross.
I came in when it was sweltering hot outside. I'm betting their Italian Ice sales are up.
The window was painted on with red white and blue stars and a smiling bald eagle.
Fairly good sized pizza slice for its $2 tag.
No Parmesan to be had. -

pizza here was delicious. Best in Bushwick for a straight up pepperoni slice...fast delivery...tad pricey for bushwick but worth it.

Pretty good. Cheesy, soft, idiosyncratic. Much better than the other place down the block.

Review from Justin L.
This is a good neighborhood pizzeria that looks like its a throwback to when the area was Italian (like Circo Pastry Shop down the block). Nice setup and storefront, busy enough, mostly Italian behind the counter. A bad thing I saw was that behind the counter they had a good 10 pizzas ready for slice reheats. While this is efficient, the slice I tasted definitely suffered because of this. Maybe the sicilian is the thing to get here, as the only pie I saw was on the counter.
The slice had a decent crust which could've been crisper, especially on a reheat. There was a too much cheese, but the sauce was very good. Overall it wasn't quite solid, but it was good for $2 and definitely a pizzeria I'd love to have in my neighborhood. Stop by if you're in the area and don't want to deal with any bullshit over at Roberta's. -

Glad to have a utilitarian slice establishment like this around the corner. Pizza is particularly good on the cheese front. I also like the aesthetics - i.e. Pepsi machine from the '70s - but the whole place also appears to be as clean as new. And $1 for five garlic knots is the icing on the cake.
I would give five stars if they jumped on the dollar slice bandwagon. -

Great Pizza.. you can go down Knickerbocker for fancy pizza at Fortunato's which is also really good. But at Tony's is the real deal original pizza it's simple either a regular slice or Sicilian and both are pretty awesome.
I have to agree with the other reviews it is definitely the sauce. The sauce on the pizza is so good.
So check out Tony's first then Fortunato's then Roberta's if you are new in the neighborhood.
They also have Italian ices which is nice for summer.. -

I must say, I really did not expect to come into a pizza joint on Knickerbocker ave and be blown away. But I walked in the door, met the owner, and they really take great pride in what they do (and apparently have done so for 34 years).
Get the Sicilian pie. That's all I gotta say. It's fantastic. Just buy the whole pie for $15... so good. Even the lasagna is good here. And the owners are true Italian gentleman.
This place is special - really. I think their Sicilian is worth visiting no matter where you live. Great pie! -

Slice should be.
Cheesy, good sauce
For two bucks that is simple and made right. -

There are a bunch of reviews that pretty much sum it up, so I'll make it quick:
Awesome pizza. Great Prices. Delicious lemonade. Adorable decor. Super nice staff. Yummy garlic knots (a personal favorite). And now, they deliver. You also get a coupon everytime you go, and after you have 8 coupons, you get a free pizza. They are practially paying you to come back! And I will. Word. -

Just moved a block away and was so psyched to try this place that I went the very afternoon I moved in.
Pretty disappointed, the crust was pretty thick and chewy, and the cheese was gobbed on...usually I wouldn't mind these things if the sauce were on point but it wasn't. I got a small pie made to order and hate to say that nothing about it had very much taste at all.
Though I will say the open walls and old school store front made this joint feel especially original. which I appreciated.
Tony Oravio please make me love you like I want to love you!! -

Just like neighboring Circo's is one of my favorite bakeries in New York, Tony's is one of my favorite New York slices. Sure, you can go out to Midwood and wait at Di Fara's with all the other foodies. Sure you can go to Robertas and wait to be seated while the waiter tells you their macrobiotic specials. Sure you can go to any of the thousands and thousands of original Rays (by the way, I hear the one on so-and-so is the REAL one). Those are all great places. But sometimes you have two dollars and you want a good slice, and that's what Tony's is about.
Little things set the place apart; The bubbling lemonade that nobody ever seems to buy, the faux veneer on the booths, the signage, the window on a summer's night, the guy that's always in the back at the end of a hard night, staring into the middle distance. It's really hard to describe why it's so good.
And of course, there's the Sicilian. Get it. Just get it. It's nothing fancy, but that's exactly why I keep coming back. It's a constant, known quantity. You plop two bucks on the counter, they slide a slice at you and you're out the door.
I remember when the tornado pulled through here, their ceiling collapsed partially. As I was walking by, I asked how they were doing. "This is nothing", he said, smiling "we'll be up and running tomorrow morning". And sure enough, there they were the next day; ever reliable, all smiles, just as they had been before. -

Great pizza in a legit neighborhood. This corner store pizza spot is the go to place for good, Italian pizza in the Puerto Rican neighborhood. The slices are cheap and great. The subs are generous and spot on. You can order from the street window or go inside for the, um, ambiance. Always buzzing but never crowded, Tony's is a surprisingly great place to grab a slice in a pretty pizza-free neighborhood.

Ordered a half margarita half pepperoni pizza and got the soggiest pizza I've ever had. This was my first and last order from them. I should have known "ready in 10 minutes" wasn't a good sign!

Still fantastical pizza. Every time I have been to Tony's -- and it has been many times since April of 2008 -- it is always excellent. Get the fresh garlic. Get it! The pepperoni is good too and the guys behind the counter are super nice and very cute in that old-Brooklyn kind of way.
Also, do not confuse this place with the other Tony's on Knickerbocker. It is Brooklyn, which means there's at least 5,000 "Tony's" out there selling pizza, and in Bushwick two of them happen to be competeing on the same street. That said, beware the other Tony's where the pizza is "bleh!" This one, Mr. Oravio's, is the real dea.Listed in: NYC Pizza Quest

East Elmhurst, NY
Been eating Tony's Pizza since I was seven yrs old.
Thirty years and 100 pizzarias later Tony's is still the best.
This is a real, classic NY Pizza, no toppings needed (maybe pepperoni once in a while). Not only do they have amazing slices, the Sicilians are the best I've ever had, hands down. The place is no-frills and nothing fancy, just grab a slice or two and walk the street doing your best Tony Manero impression.
I rarely pass by the area anymore, but when I do I always try to get a slice or two. God forbid if this place ever closes, a little piece of me will go with it. -

The pizza is really good. I pick up a large pie at least once a week. One time while waiting, a gentleman next to me received a large sicilian pie with pepperoni. It looked like heaven in a box. Highly recommend

And now apparently, they deliver! What are you waiting for? If you live in their delivery radius you no longer have any other excuse for using lesser pizza places.

Brooklyn, NY
I just had a slice of the cheese here and it's very solid, above average for New York pizza. Fortunata's II's cheese slice is good too, but the sauce was a little bland both times I went there. Where Fortunata's does win out is slice selection (at least on this visit to Tony's, there was only regular cheese and cheese Sicilian).
The guy also let me take just one garlic knot, instead of needing to buy 5 for a dollar--and then an older Italian guy, maybe Tony, walked by and put a second one on my plate. "Both of those are free," he said to me, and then said to the other guy, "Papi, make sure you don't ever charge for the garlic knots." I was pleased by that, a lot of other places would never do it.
Incidentally, isn't it Tony Orazio pizza? That's what the neon sign seems to say. Either way, a highly recommended local place. -

My go to local too-lazy-to-cook-a-meal slice spot. A bit on the doughy side as far as slices go but that's my personal preference.
I like this spot better than the other Tonys a few blocks away.
Cheap meal done right. Good staff. Classic corner pizza spot. Nuff said. -

This is actually one of the best pizza parlors in NY. I kid you not.

The $5 for 2 slices and a drink special got me in here. 1 large pie and a few drinks got my friends and me out... and stuffed... and without noticing we had paid for lunch. Go if you live here... go if you're in the area... go if you believe me when I say that evidently, Mexican cuisine includes New York pizza.

The pizza is cheesy and delicious. The cheese just slides off the slice. Just writing this review is making me hungry. And it's cheap. This from a native. This is real New York City pizza.

It's OK. I would be happy to have this place in my neighborhood if it wasn't for the OTHER (far superior) Tony's Pizza up the block. (the one by the M train)
I've givin this greasy thin-crust pie a few chances but each time I ask myself "what am I too lazy to walk 2 more blocks?" -

This place truly is the best slice in New York. A slice whether it's sicilian or a regular slice is only $2. Best sauce on any slice I've had in the city. The staff is extremely friendly and their service is unbeatable and timely. Sitting outside by the bus stop in the summertime is as good as it gets.

I've only had the eggplant parm hero so far, but it was excellent, supremely cheesy, and the workers were way friendly, so I think it's my new favorite pizza spot.

DELICIOUS!! This place has the BEST pizza! I only wish they offered delivery. When I first moved here, I made the mistake of getting delivery from the other Tony's pizza. Let's just say I NEVER made that mistake again!! Tony Oravio's Pizza is well worth the walk down Knickerbocker Ave. I'm just a regular cheese pizza girl and it's some of the best pizza I've had since moving to the city 8 years ago. I'm a fan for sure!
