John and Zack (or is it Zach?) are the ideal movers. They're straightforward, utterly capable, and put you completely at ease on the day where most of your life is in boxes and you just want to nap after spending a week packing. They were also super fast and came in at the estimate so there were no surprises.

John managed to set me up with a move time with very short notice and we went through the estimate in detail on the phone. I called back with questions as I had never worked with movers before and he was very helpful and patient. I'll never do a move on my own again!

After calling around, I had to go with John because he inspired such confidence and had a reasonable rate - $100 per hour for two men (cash; it's $105 on credit) with a 3 hour minimum (easily attained when you have to drive from SF to Oakland and a 1 bedroom on the 4th floor). Fuel surcharge $20. Very reasonable.

Everything arrived in perfect condition (thanks to their care at wrapping furniture and paintings) and they put large pieces back together (legs that had to come off chairs were reattached) so I didn't have to think about stray elements. They tried every possible orientation to get my dining table out the doorway and ended up taking my front door off the hinges (and putting it back on) - real out of the box thinking and a focus on solving the problems in a timely manner.

Highly recommended! Give them a call and give them a Yelp. They're getting back into moving after many years in freight (John works with Target and IKEA so he knows your furniture's strengths and weaknesses better than you do). We need to help spread the word.

It was my first time using movers and John and his crew were fabulous. They made moving a very painless experience. They had the best rates around and they were super efficient. I would reccommend using them.
