Mmmm mm!!!! Never came here when it was a dairy queen or fosters freeze (whatever, it's one of those two).
Now, I just saw the sign driving by, and got curious in how good their burgers really are (especially to have the word burgers in your tittle, insinuating that you have tasty burgers).
All I can say is "deeelish"! Had to shorten the word because I am stuffing my "pie hole" with this awesome (a little messy) double patty burger w/ cheese.
The place is owned by an Asian couple who are so nice and loves talking to every customer. The price is a tad cheaper than a double double from in&out, and I would say rivals it pretty closely. -

I've been driving by this place for a year, but always had a destination. Today, decided to pull in and check it out. Interesting and OLD fashioned little burger joint. Very solid menu selection, and they make REAL shakes and even a banana split! (hadn't seen one of those on a menu in a loooooooooooooooong time).
I had a bacon swiss burger, my coworker went with a jr cheeseburger. Both were well prepared with full condiments (including special sauce...aka 1000 island). The fries were served hot and NOT greasy...major kudos. AND they even have pepsi products....woohoo!
So why not a four or five star rating? Well, it's obviously a guy who said "that's a 1/4 lb burger"....cause it's one HELL of an exaggeration. And, aforementioned pepsi products? Diet Pepsi in a styrofoam cup is beyond just wrong. Really.
If you can get past those two issues (maybe by ordering the 1/2 pounder to get a real 1/4 pounder? That MIGHT be the ticket), then it's an awesome place. -

Dairy Belle has two big things going for it: It is close to work and is not McDonalds. It's a tiny little place on Mathilda with one long counter and about 5 booths.
Don't go to this Dairy Belle on a cold day, unless perhaps it is really busy. It was cold and rainy outside, and just plain cold inside. No heat running. Needless to say, I didn't order and milkshakes or ice cream.
I was surprised at the cost, actually. I got the 1/4 combo and with cheese, it was $7 even. Although, I don't know why I am surprised anymore, everything is more expensive and at Dairy Belle you get a 1/4 lb. hamburger meal for less than $10, at a time when all the fast food chains work so hard to give you less for more than you paid last year, Dairy Belle is a fair price even if it seems expensive at first.
They put a special sauce on the burger, I think it's a combination of 1000 Island and mayonnaise. The burger was definitely tasty, with fresh lettuce and tomato. -

I really want to give this place a good review. The lady behind the counter was so nice, but the food.....very lacking. I had a #5, yes I was helllllllllllla hungry so I went with the double. It had WAY too much mayo, and it had that funky frozen meat patty taste. The crinkle cut fries were okay, but I am a total steak fries kinda gal.
I guess I was hoping for a wow burger with great taste, but.....I don't know if I'll be back to this Dairy Belle. I used to work at the one on Monterey Road way back in the day, and I thought they were pretty good.
IF I do go back, it will be to try one of their shakes, and maybe a hot dog instead.....
I forgot to mention, they only take cash. -

Cute little burger stand. Has salmon burgers, and other variants. Has soft-serve ice cream and a couple types of milkshake.
I would give it 4 stars, except I came in December and the place didn't seem to have any heating whatsoever! Too cold!! -

Brought a boring ass lunch to work today, so when the girls in my office went on their daily junk food adventure - I hopped in. Today's adventure took us to Dairy Belle. I can't tell you the last time I've been to DB. 15 years maybe??
I stayed back at the office and manned the phone while the girls went for the pickup. They brought me back a 1/4 pound cheeseburger and a small chocolate-banana shake. The burger was tasty enough for a fast food dump - but there's no way that patty was a 1/4 pound. Next time I should get the 1/8th just for a laugh. The shake was ok, but it wasn't ice cream - it was made with soft serve, which is a bit disappointing. I had a couple of her sour cream fries and dipped them in ranch. Decent.
Overall, a middle of the pack fast food joint. But better than cruddy ass Burger King. -

Out shopping with my daughter before she had to head to work.
Driving down Mathida Avenue, we decide to go to the Dairy Belle for a quck bite to eat.
As you walk into the restaurant, you can't help but think that you've been transported to a hamburger joint from the 1960's. The decor is sparce and the decor needs updating (many of the food posters are sun-faded).
There's other fast food places on this side of Mathida - but they can't compare to the freshly cooked hamburgers. Definitely not microwaved or reheated! My daughter ordered a grilled cheese sandwich - lightly toasted with lots of cheese. Their crinkle cut fries were fresh and hot.
Not as many choices as Mickey Dee's or Boo-boo King across the street - but here you don't have to put up with kids runninng all over the place and you get a freshly cooked hamburger.
Note: CASH ONLY -

Cozy little diner place, the owners are nice. Their hours are pretty short though, closing at 8pm and on Sundays, so gotta get here early if you want their food.
The burgers aren't all that special, arguably better than McDonald's across the street, but not by much. I like the sour cream fries, nice and crispy and flavorful. Only complaint is the serving size is pretty small. I also like the soft serves, but they were out of the chocolate flavor the last 2 times I went.
A nice alternative if you don't feel like going to a fast food chain restaurant, but nothing to go crazy about. -

A little better than you might expect.... a good burger... not a great one.
Nice little place to have lunch at during a sunny day. It was a really nice day and the breeze through the outdoor seating area was worth it.
Shake was ok... not great.. fries were pretty good but somewhat crumpled and small.. burger was good size and was actually pretty good.
Another place close to work for lunch! -

It is a place we frequent as it is close to work. I am a creature of habit and I order almost the same thing everytime. A single Hamburger and ranch fries. As with the other reviews the burgers are quite tasty and I must emphasize that the ranch fries are very tasty and go along very well with the burgers. They also give you a side of ranch dressing to dip the fries in YUM!
My co-worker really likes the linguisa sandwich (that is his ritual), I will have to break my hamburger ritual one of these days and order that.
I've also had a chocolate and vanilla shake and wasn't too impressed with that. I've had a soft serve cone too and I will have to say stick to the burgers and fries. -

Ah, Dairy Belle; what has become of thee!
I still like coming to this place because of its cheap, old-school greasy-spoon charm. The Burgers and Fries are simple but dependable fare.
For an absolute slice of HEAVEN, try a Chocolate-Dipped soft-serve vanilla cone. They get my vote for Best Bay Area Soft-Serve. -

The burgers and sandwiches are not bad.
However, wouldn't you think some place called "Dairy" Belle would have good milkshakes? Well, in this instance you would be sadly mistaken. Blech.
The kicker for me: there's a self-service soda machine, but they want to charge you for a refill. I'm sorry, but some obscenities I just can not forgive.
Decor is umm cheesy and claustrophia inducing. their outdoor seating borders directly on a very busy street with nothing between, and there is no outdoor seating in the sun, only under the cover - blast them!
Oh yeah, and for what it is, its significantly overpriced.
Obviously not my top choice. -

We meet here every Wednesday for lunch with my dad. The burgers are delicious and the sour cream fries are to die for. It is an old building and there is not much seating but it's worth it. I have never tried the shakes but my dad is a huge fan of the blackberry shake.
The owner is super nice too! -

Though the food here is good, prices are a bit high (I get a 1/4 lb. burger with cheese, bacon, and of course, the FAMOUS sour cream fries). That runs me about $8.
Owners are nice and welcoming, so I come here almost once a week.
The charge for refills with the OPEN soda machine is a bit ridiculous, though I've snuck a few refills anyways.; And they close @ 7pm on the weekends.. BOOOO!!
If you're looking for something better than Mc D's & Burger King across the street, then Dairy Belle is your place. -

$8 for a burger meal!
No pickles or onions!
Frozen tasting patties!
Soda comes in a coffee cup and is 35 cents for a refill!
Food comes fast and the people are nice but I will not be going here for lunch again. -

I have to disagree....this was an exceptional burger. Fresh cooked, big, juicy, great crinkly fries, and the shakes are really good. Who cares if there's little seating? It's not like you're dining there for the atmosphere or anything. The food's good, and for a 1/2 lb double meat cheeseburger, reg order of fries, and reg shake it was about $8. I'll definitely be going back here....

I love to eat at a nice & juicy burger joint and this one rates at the top for me. Nice crispy lettuce, fresh tomatoes and the buns are fabulous. Not a junk bun but a soft and doughy bun. But lets not forget the SOUR CREAM FRIES!!!! to die for. Right up there with the garlic fries I like to eat at at other places. They also have wonderful shakes like in the 60's. Gotta go try it out . What could it hurt. They are on my list of burger joints to go to.

Nice little burger joint right off of 101 on Mathilda. The burgers are good, though not exceptional, and the shakes are quite good. My favorite is a butterscotch shake, which really hits the spot. Seating is a little sparse, though there are benches out front if you don't mind the hoards of cars speeding down Mathilda.

5 stars, because it's exactly what I was hoping to find in the area. I started a new job recently and drove past this place today, so I had to double back and try it. They served me one of the best burgers I've had in a long time! Very fresh, lean meat, and the fries were piping hot crinkle cut, with just the right amount of salt. Excellent Pepsi mixture too, not watered down or over sweetened. I'll try the milk shakes next time.
I got the #5 combo and it hit the spot for not too much money. A hefty burger (1/2 lb. - 2 patties). Pure and simple and delicious! -

I can see the appeal of this place. It's old, dinerish, but the prices are too high for an old run down dairy queen knock off. Small school cafeteria tasting burger for $3+, hot dog for $2+. I don't really know how this place competes with other fast food chains in the area and has stayed open.

I love the food here, cooked to order. They will cook it exactly the way I want. Much better than McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, etc. I always order the double cheeseburger, fries and drink combination. I think the prices are reasonable and would rather eat here than the major chains.

The only reason to come here is for the milk shakes. Otherwise, the prices are pretty expensive for below average burger & fries. If I want fast food, I think I'll stick with the McDonalds or Burger King down the street. Plus, I hate how they don't accept credit cards.
