I recently had my dishwasher break and in need of repair. Jorge from Tom's Appliance Service came out quickly and made the repair and did a fantastic job. I have always found Jorge and his team very professional and honest, as well as knowledgeable about the products they service. I am happy to recommend them to anyone in need of a repair.

I've had a leaky Sub-Zero 532 refrigerator (18 years old) for the past 2 weeks and I could not figure the problem out myself.
I was referred to Tom's Appliance by my normal appliance service company of choice, Ace Appliance. They don't touch Sub-Zero's.
After reading the reviews it was clearly a mixed bag. The consensus seems to be high prices, good for Sub-Zero repair, not so good for everything else.
My options were fix it myself or get it fixed and since the former was not happening, I bit the bullet and made the call.
The appointment was pretty easy. Was given a 3 hour window a couple days out.
Vic P. called me when he was ~15 mins away. When he showed up, he was all smiles and very friendly. He immediately asked if he should wear booties because he noticed that we keep a clean home and don't wear shoes in the house. This was nice because no shoes is non-negotiable.
Vic quickly diagnosed the problem and took care of business. The only bad part of the entire experience is that the fix was very simple and it cost me $135. That said, I learned something new and can do it myself if it happens again. Included in the $135 is 30 mins of labor. Since the fix was all of 10 mins, Vic noticed that the panel above the fridge was pretty dusty and helped me vacuum it out.
I can only speak for my experience with Vic and with work on a Sub-Zero, but I have no complaints and would hire them again. Vic was very professional across the board. He was polite, very neat, friendly and honest. -

The owner of this company, Jorge Paiva is dishonest! He and his side kick came to my home on a service call for my 6 yr. old Kitchen Aid refrigerator. He told me that my compressor was bad and that it would be $650 to replace it. Without the compressor, my $2000 refrigerator is worthless. I told him I had to check with my husband and that I would get back to him. He then told me I owed him $99 for his 10 minutes of time he took to "diagnose" my fridge.
Long story short, my husband came home from work, took a look at the "starter relay" for the compressor and parts were rattling inside as he shook it. He went down to an appliance parts store and purchased a new relay for $40. He brought it home, plugged it in and guess what? The refrigerator works like a charm!
I DID NOT NEED A $650 PART TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT ONLY A $40 PART THAT TOOK 2 MINUTES TO PLUG IT IN!
Tom or Jorge or whatever the service man/owner's name is, is not trustworthy. He though he would take advantage of a woman who obviously knew nothing about refrigerators. Needless to say, he cashed my $99 check I wrote him for his "service" call the minute he left my house.
Save yourself a lot of grief and money. Pass on this business! -

Called Tom's for a repair of microwave. They charged me $136 to take it apart and that was it. They did not know how to fix it or what was wrong. They wanted to order new sensors without any testing of equipment. I thought that all 3 sensors blowing at the same time was silly. this guy clearly did not know what he was doing. They then took 2 weeks to get back to me on how much the parts were to cost.
I called someone else and it was the circuit board that was out.
Watch out for these guys.....they spend their time in the truck and charge you for it.
What a waste. diamond certified means nothing. They are not even approved for Viking repairs, according to Viking. -

On 03/29/2011 our 9 year-old built-in KitchenAid fridge went dead with no light.
I called Tom's Appliance Service in Los Gatos, and a friendly technician from Tom's Appliance Morgan Hill showed up the next morning. He worked on the fridge for about 1 hour then told me the overload and the relay needed replacement; and it would take about 1 week to order parts. The bill for that day was $135 for the service call and debugging the problem. He estimated $190 more to fix it on the next call.
I asked the technician if he could do faster than 1 week, he said it would cost additional $50 to expedite the part ordering.
We have a second fridge so I said we could wait 1 week. Two weeks after, I called and was told the parts were still not in. And..., they would not call us back until 04/28/2011, 1 month after they started the job!
Meanwhile, I called another service man in San Jose, he came in the next morning, looked at the problem Tom's Appliance left off, drove to south San Jose to pick up the parts, fixed it all for $150 in the same morning.
Tom's Appliance got here quickly to gain our business then hung us dry for 1 month without communication! This is un-professional!
I would not recommend Tom's Appliance Service! -

They do a good job servicing high end appliances. I have found their staff courteous, helpful and responsive. My only complaint is that their prices are on the high end for service.

Jorge Is the BEST!
Thank you so much for taking care of my requests. Our Sub--Zeros are in perfection condition, now. In addition to your professionalism and efficiency, you are a nice person and easy to work with.
What was so outstanding is that you worked with me and my schedule, rather than the reverse. I know you have got to be extremely busy helping other clients, but one thing is for sure, you know how to add value in addition to your great service. I would and will recommend you to my friends, family and business clients and associates. I will be calling upon you, personally, to service our appliances as well on a regular basis.
By the way, he gave me tips and ideas I would never thought of
if you would like them, email me, I'll let you know.
Thanks a million.

I am very happy to recommend Tom's Appliances. The staff is professional and efficient. I have both Sub Zero appliances, as well as Wolf, and would only trust Tom's for all our service needs. Many thanks to the entire staff for the years of great service!

Tom's is terrific. My Sub Zero's thermostat died and I was caught in a crunch, out of town for a few days and then a crunch at work. Bernadette went out of her way to figure out something that would work with my crazy schedule. She even told the tech to try to get to our house early in the window because she knew I needed time to get to work. He came, diagnosed the problem, produced the part from his van, did the repair in about twenty minutes. If you have a Sub Zero, this is your repair company!

These guys rock! We had an issue with our SubZero and called around - the company that sold us the unit said '6 days', Tom's squeezed us in on a cancellation the next day. Quick, very proficient and efficient - would recommend to anyone!
