WOW...."Todam Soon Doo Boo" IS NOW CLOSED. Talk about a short lived operation. We never saw "Gangnam Hwae-jib" restaurant next door open for business. Then suddenly we see the "Gangnam Hwae-jib" signs replaced with grand opening signs for "Seoul Bok Dwaeji" (aka - "Seoul Happy Pig"). Apparently what they did was renovated BOTH restaurants and change them both into a BBQ restaurant.
Really sad to see this Soon-Doo-Boo place close but it'll be interesting to see how it will undoubtedly compete with nearby Gooldaegee (aka Honeypig).

Wow...I'm really impressed with this place. The grand opening of this place was sometime in December… Read more »
My theory on the local Annandale food scene is that restaurants are always tasty and a good bargin when they first open, and gradually decline after they brought in enough regulars. For this reason, I am always on the look out for new places.
Todam piqued my interest, so I decided to check it out during lunch. The location is kind of strange, its situated all the way at the end of a hallway, like some of the restaurants in the Eden Center. They specialize in tofu casserole and they serve it exactly like Lighthouse tofu, bubbling hot tofu stew, a raw egg on the side, and cooked rice in a stone pot. They also serve alot more banchan than Lighthouse tofu, including a small whole fried fish (surprisingly tender fish) with the casserole. Everything was tasty and a bargin for under $10. There are two flat screen TV in the restaurant showing mostly cheesy Korean variety show about cooking. Its a clever move on the owner's part to show Korean food porn to stimulate patron's appetite.
I got jipped, I didn't get my fish. Also, the soondubu wasn't as flavorful here as it is at Lighthouse. The place is slightly cheaper than Lighthouse but the size is the same, so I think you're sacrificing quality for quantity.
