The food is good and the restaurant is clean and nice. I like having the option to dine in or take my food to go (AM Thai is "to go" only).
My favorite item from the menu is the shrimp summer rolls -- try them with the peanut sauce, it's really good and light. The iced tea and iced coffee is great.
My only complaint is that their prices are a bit high, but for quality food in this neighborhood I guess I can't really complain!
So I really like this Thai place, its my fave so far since I have moved to the area. They have a really salads and their curries are delicious. They are a little bit over priced but I can't complain about it because its so tasty and they deliver pretty fast. I have tried a few other places and this one seems to be at the top of the list so far.
When you're one of only a few restaurants in an area, you can get away with inconsistencies. I found To B Thai to be greasy, soggy, and a bit bland. But you know what? At least it's edible Thai food in Kensington, so I'll let them slide on that.
It's interesting that Mel N. says that the food is inconsistent, because I was going to start my review by saying just the opposite. It's not great or wonderful or sublime Thai food, but I think it's really good almost every time I get it. Granted, I always get the old favorite noodle dishes like, Pad Thai and Pad See Ew, but they always get those two right.
In fact, I take back what I say about not great, because the Pad See Ew is one of the best I've had in Brooklyn.
The delivery is always quick and hot, and the price is about average.
I would say that 2 B Thai is pretty much exactly what you would expect when you get a Brooklyn Thai dinner. No frills, no surprises. When my friend was in town last weekend, and had never had Thai food, I knew he would love the Pad Thai from here.
"This is what Thai food tastes like?" he said.
"Yes. This is what it tastes like in New York," I said. And it's true. This is exactly what you should expect from 2 B Thai.

Great neighborhood Thai restaurant.... unfortunately not in my neighborhood. But I still act like it is, lol. I manage to stop by as if it was down the block from me.
When going home on the Prospect Pkwy, I just make a right on Church, then left on E2nd, and within 2 seconds I'm there. I'm a fiend for Thai ice tea, so with the convenience of a car I GET my Thai ice tea!! My sis and I have eaten a handful of tasty dishes. So if you're in the neighborhood you should definitely give 2 be Thai a try.

2 B Thai is consistently good and stands up against strong competition from Am Thai (my second fave) and Thai Tony (good, but find it greasy and less flavor than the other two). 2B is spot on with flavor and freshness and delivery is always super fast. Tons of veggie options. Also have to agree with Sherri F-- even the rice dishes stand out, although some of the apps can be left behind (veg dumpling comes to mind). Overall excellent though.
My second time eating at 2 B Thai was just as yummy as my first. This place is still relatively new and seemingly undiscovered, which for me was perfect since it wasn't that busy. The dining room itself is quite small and certainly nothing spectacular whatsoever in terms of decor (though candle-lit tables always had a hint of magic), but the food more than makes up for the lackluster interior design.
The crispy basil duck with chili sauce was dynamite...so much so that it was the second time I had tried it and couldn't resist ordering it again. The crispy calamari appetizer with sweet chili sauce was lightly battered and fried perfectly, though I thought the pieces of squid were a bit small and there were no tentacles, which are my absolute favorite portions of calamari. The mango salad with Thai spicy dressing, thin-sliced red onion, and cilantro was remarkably fresh and delicious.
If you're looking for fancy schmancy or atmospheric dining, this is probably not the place. But if you're looking for inexpensive awesome Thai food on a quiet corner in an unpretentious neighborhood in Brooklyn, then this is definitely a place to check out.

I really dig the flavor of their Pad See Ewe and the great noodles they use. The sponginess of them has the perfect bounce and gives great consistency throughout this dish. The gravy is juicier than usual (kind of like lard nar), but taste pretty delicious.
The owners of this restaurant are really friendly and I would recommend going to this place.
Another suggestion would be to try the tilapia mango salad when mango is in season. The mango was not ripe enough, but the dressing made up for it. I'll fill you guys in more once I try more dishes!

I've had a hard time finding good thai food in NY but once I found this place I stopped looking elsewhere. The food is really good! I've tried almost every vegetarian dish and haven't once been unsatisfied. Their mock duck is the best in NY, hands down. Not too greasy. They know thai spice and master it. And they deliver pretty quick. LOVE it~

Great menu, such a relief from all the dingy places in the area. They had only been open two days, but aside from bringing our second order of rice late, the service was great. Above all else the food was delicious, clean and fresh tasting. The Massamun Curry was thin and delicate with a strong spicy finish crisp vegetables. The coconut rice was moist and subtly sweet. The owners are young and seemed excited and eager to please their customers with low priced quality food, served in an inviting atmosphere. We will be going back!
ps-they currently are cash only

The food is good but inconsistent. Sometimes fatty and greasy, other times perfect. I used to go in every now in then to pick up after work. I waited in the restaurant while they prepared the food, and even though you are sitting right there they will not let you know it's ready. They just leave it on the counter next to things going out for delivery. B/c of this I always have to ask 'is that mine?' when they complete a bag. Also, They forgot the white rice once with my curry. How was I supposed to eat curry without rice. That was the last straw for me. AM-Thai from now on. Quick delivery. Fresh fast and delicious.
Kensington is slowly transforming into being the international headquarters for Nail Salons and Thai Food Restaurants. Although this place has alright Thai Food, it feels like the place was put together at lightening and didn't pay much attention to the details.
The setup is the exact same as Cafe Regina give or take a coat of paint or two and getting rid of the display cases. The paint is cracking near the lighting fixtures in less then 2 months of being open, which saddens me because the food isn't all to bad. It feels like the place was thrown together to start making money, and although the meals are cheap and service is nice ~ I would rather go for a sit down at Thai Tony's any day of the week.

Its a cute place to run into and get a bite to take home. Definitely a take-out/delivery place. The food was pretty good. We went to eat there and a result that took out 1 star. The service was nice but took forever to get a check. I had to get up and ask for one.
BUT, for the money its a great deal and a great value. If i had lived a little closer i would definitely order for delivery.
the last few times i have ordered food from here , i have been seriously disappointed!

Pros: Really great thai food. Good service. Reasonably priced. BYOB Delivers, does takeout. Not noisy. Around the corner from the F train Church Ave stop.
Cons: No credit cards. May have to walk a block or two if you need parking.
The short version? For us, worth a trip from Marine Park.
3.5 stars
i haven't eaten here but surprised when i passed by and saw the food presentation. Great for this side of town. Descent prices, especially for the $5.95 lunch special.
Smart businessman or woman to try and make a quick buck off this place before spending anymore on decor. After all this area isn't that hip or well known for hanging out, but many locals who discover this place should be greatful there is such a place here where you can eat good, affordable, and sit in with a guest, and not be embarassed that the price of the food reflects the look and presentation of it too. Glad to see this place bring up the neighborhood's social potential.

I've tried a lot of Thai food and I would say this place is pretty good. I ordered the crispy calamari with a sweet chili sauce for an appetizer and it was very good. The calamari was lightly battered and fried to perfection, which is much better than greasy diner calamari but that is beside the point. Let's move on to the entree of the Pad See Ew. I thought it was a bit salty and did not have enough sweet flavor, and the noodles might have a bit undercooked. I ate at the restaurant soon after they opened, so I guess that have not perfected their Pad See Ew skills. I forgive them. My boyfriend also ordered the Pad See Ew and he thought it was too salty, and he vowed never to go back there again because the food was not to his standards. I guess I won't be seeing you anytime soon 2B Thai, unless I break up with my boyfriend that is.
So I finally tried the newest neighborhood Thai place, but I must admit that I didn't actually go in... I got it delivered because I was tired and lazy and... whatever. BUT, I had my food in record time! I ordered during prime dinner time, and was so pleased that the delivery took less than 30 minutes. Best delivery time I have seen yet in Kensington. And, we really enjoyed our food. I have the Duck Pinapple Curry which was absolutely delish. :)
i'm a thai addict and 2 B Thai is one of the few thai options available in ditmas park, but it has never disappointed. i've only gotten delivery, which is insanely fast, and the food is extremely cheap yet good quality & quantity. surprising stand-outs here like pineapple curry, which i normally don't even like, make the lack of many other thai options hardly a problem. papaya salad and other appetizers are not amazing, but overall the menu is pretty solid, and you really can't go wrong for the price. better than most park slope places, in my opinion, though i'm still not sure if it wins over nearby AM Thai.
Fantastic Thai food, friendly service. I'll be back here often.
