After reading the reviews for Titan, I knew I wanted to check it out, but actually bumped into it while driving around Smyrna. The other reviews were very accurate, Titan definitely needs to get into a bigger space. There were piles of merchandise everywhere, and no room to speak of. I tested the new guy (he'd been there two weeks) about an obscure comic that had ended quite a while ago, and he was able to find it, and call the other stores to get other issues as well. I want to check out the other Titan comic stores now and see how they fare, overall it's a great place with great staff, but they need more room.

I'm sorry, Oxford Comics, but for the past few months, I've been cheating on you. It's nothing personal, I swear, but when I found out that Titan Comics was sooooo close to my office, well, one thing led to another. So really, Oxford, it's just physical. You're still my first comic shop love in Atlanta, I swear. It's not all sunshine and unicorns with us. Titan doesn't have as big a selection of indies as you do nor do they keep recent back issues up to peruse and buy at cover price. I guess they just don't have the space for it. Making a left turn out of the parking lot is near impossible at times. And Titan has the annoying habit of pre-bagging all of their comics, so every time I want to handle her wares, I've got to deal with all the protection.
Ah, but she's so conveniently located in Smyrna. The staff is nice and knowledgeable. They'll even call you when reprints are in. And the 10% discount for purchases over $20(?) $30(?) (still haven't figured out what the line is) definitely doesn't hurt. Yes, I'll admit, my relationship with Titan is nothing but a series of cheap, tawdry, lunch time encounters. They're nothing like the special trips I make (or used to make, I guess) to see you. Please don't cry. As I said, Oxford, you still have a bigger selection of comics and fanboy toys so I'll still occasionally see you on the weekends. This has been coming for a long time. It's not you, it's me. It's all me. Can we still be friends?

This isn't the biggest or swankiest comic store ever but it has a good stock and helpful, friendly (often sassy) staff. Plus they can order stuff for you from the other stores in the company. I've been a regular for years - they offer good discounts and regular sales - but they process a zillion requests a day, so stay on top of them if you are looking for something in particular.
