1 review for Tio Pepe Restaurant
This was my first time coming here. My friends and I were kind of hesitant to enter the restaurant because of the building's outside appearance. The building is divided into two establisments. The left side is occupied by Tio Pepe and the same owner has turned the other side into a Spanish bar called Garnaxa.
We were delightly surprised how clean and nice the inside was. The restaurant holds about 20 smalls tables that are covered by bright white table cloths and the walls were painted pastel yellow. The hardwood floor looks very clean.
We ordered a fruit/cheese plate and anchovi/cherry tomatoes dish for appetizers. Both were very good. For entrees, we got a seafood paella, grilled tilapia, grilled salmon, and grilled chicken. The paella and tilapia were excellent. However, the chicken was a little dry. I didn't try the salmon. The portions were huge and we had to get the paella and chicken to-go.
We couldn't stop so ordered flan and apple bread-pudding for dessert. They were both homemade and were delicious. This was the first time I had flan that was infused with a hint of orange. The pudding was moist and soft and not too sweet.
The best thing about this place is that each entree was under $20.
