The flavors here are anything BUT tiny!
I used to love Thai Station in Merrick, but I think this is my new favorite place. Their Thai Iced Tea is simply perfect. All of the soups are delicious. The Drunken Noodle dish is awesome! You can request how mild or spicy you want your food made... and they will actually listen to you! There's nothing worse than ordering something "extra spicy" and discovering it to be completely bland. Service might be a little slow because it does get very busy and sometimes there's only one person taking care of the entire restaurant.
I highly recommend this place for foodies and thai lovers... but come a little early for dinner or expect to wait. -
Review from Satya C.

I had a family dinner at Tiny Thai the other day. The name of the restaurant lived up to it's name by size. We ordered a Chicken soup for our 5 yrs old kid and she loved it. The appetizer, bag of gold was yummy as well as the Shrimp basket. I wish the portion was little bigger. As for the main entree, sauteed vegetables in red sauce was fantastic. I had the chicken on fire or something like that, basically it was sizzler on hot plate. I found the chicken little hard and stale and little cold even though it was on a hot plate. Those who love spicy food, go beyond level 3. We ordered at level 3 but it was kind of sweet. Service was okay, only one woman who does it all except cooking, so expect a little delay. Overall, an okay restaurant.

This place is amazing... Very small and limited seating but the food is spectacular!!! I always get the PAD Tai with Tofu and I am never disappointed. The Server is very efficient and always asks how spicy on the level 1,2,3,4,5 I always say no spice but its always a little spicy so watch out. I always order an extra to take home!!

I was super happy to see vegetarian options here. They have a veggie pad thai & a tofu pad thai as well as some other vegetarian options. I ended up getting the veggie pad thai. It was almost sweet and was amazing when I added the hot spice delivered with the food.
The place is tiny and seemed to have only one person handling seating, taking phone orders, order taking & bussing. She seemed to have it under control although I would hope they would add another person on the weekend.
Another small note: No music just the sound of Dancing With The Stars as it was playing on their small out of place ceiling mounted tv. ughh. -
Review from Jaime C.
Old Bethpage, NY
I've passed this place many times, but always at lunch time... and they're not open for lunch. Finally had the opportunity to stop in for dinner tonight.
The restaurant is aptly named. It is a Thai restaurant, and it is TINY. Fortunately, as it was a Tuesday night, it wasn't very crowded. I was a bit disappointed that I didn't see Beef Satay on the menu (only chicken was listed) but they did have my favorite soup: the Chicken Coconut soup. I had a cup of that, and the beef panang curry.
The waittress asked me how I would like it, as it was already listed as "two peppers" on the menu (or "Very spicy"). I told her I liked my food spicy, so she said she'll make it "three peppers." I was ALMOST worried, because I had the "Extra Spicy" at Jai Ya in Hicksville and lived to regret it (but just barely).
My fears were unfounded. The food was "hot enough." Definitely broke out in a sweat, but my mouth didn't feel like it was sucking on hot coals... in fact, I barely touched my glass of (excellent) Thai iced tead.
After the soup and the entree, I didn't really have any room left to try any desserts. I did see her serving one table a flaming "something" but I guess I'll have to find out what that was next time. I'll definitely be back. Now if they only put beef satay on the menu I'll give it the fifth star... -

I gave it four but I really wanted to give it 3 and a half stars I will explain...
So I'm a big guy and so I was worried when I saw the name of this place because it looked like it was gonna be tiny inside as well, but to my surprise it wasn't . I had the pad thai and I was a bit disappointed.. it was like there was no heat at all I had to add my own.
Once I added my own I was pleased with the meal. I think I liked my friends dish better almost though she went with the same plate but where I got the chicken she went with the veggie.
i think the thing I liked best was that they were very attentive to my water. I like because I have almost cut all soda out of my diet its helped me lose a lot of weight. -

Alright, so maybe I've been in NY for too long and my Thai food snobbery has lessened over time or maybe, just maybe, I've finally found out how to get spicy, delicious Thai food.
Order the pad thai (tofu for veggie me) at a number 8 on the heat scale. HEAVENLY spicy and delightful.Listed in: Long Island Living

Tiny Thai is probably my favorite Thai Take out ever and I've tried dozens all over. The good is great and prices are okay but not dirt cheap like some other Thai places. All the other usual Thai menu items range from good to great. They have perhaps my favorite Pad Thai which is saying a lot.
Most Thai places are semi authentic in that the food isn't nearly as spicy hot but TT will indulge you by adding a bunch of heat.
The only downsides come about when you want to dine in. The place is really small and you will have to wait at peak hours. Also, the service can be really slow sometimes.
The place is an easy 5 stars if you're into Thai food and go during offpeak hours or take out. Chop off a star or two if you want to eat in and have little patience. -

Food is so good. Restaurant is small but totally worth the wait. Best Thai on the Island!

Is it fair to only give 3 stars to a place when it exceeds expectations? I say yes. Tiny Thai is a decent little place which offers somewhere between average and better than average thai.
For someone who is new to thai this is a good place to start them out. Nothing is overly spicy, and most everything is decent. I've never had to wait and they are friendly. Give it a shot. -
Review from Scott L.
Good Thai. They make good curries here, but the portions are on the lighter side. The service is slow for suuure.
But if you want Thai....where else can u go?
The food was good, prices reasonable, but nothing too special about this place.
I got the coconut shrimp, which was overcooked. The spring rolls were good, though.
The Massaman Curry was among one of the better ones I've had. Not so hot on presentation though.
I'm not rushing to go back, though. -

Best Thai food in the area especially if you like spicy. I have never been dissapointed.

Review from Nicole L.
New York, NY
Still very good, but I have more to say this time around.
Best dishes:
red curry with tofu & vegetables
pad thai
shrimp & scallop pot
veggie noodles
I come here all the time because I can walk here. Unfortunately, it's beginning to get annoying that they only have one waiter on staff, even when it's packed. The poor guy tries, but it's impossible to make 10 tables and people ordering for takeout happy if you're being spread so thin.
I've minused a star because the last time I came, even though their red curry with tofu and vegetables was delicious as always, the appetizers were unimpressive. The coconut shrimp were way overcooked and the thai spring rolls lacked flavor.Listed in: Long Island Eats

Oceanside, NY
Horrible. Both the food & the service. First I tried to call to place a order for myself & a coworker. After numerous attempts with no one picking up finally a woman answers with "what you want". We tried ordering by number and hear nothing but the clanking of dishes....tried to call back only to get same rude woman who kept saying "I'm very busy". Really?? When I ask her "how long?" she tells me 30 minutes. My coworker goes to pick it up 30 min later, not only was it NOT ready they didn't even prepare it. Another 20 min wait...
Now on to the food-we both ordered the Rad na with beef. Bland, meat was tough as nails and the broccoli soggy. We split the coconut shrimp with plum sauce appetizer. The shrimp was over cooked & tough. And the portions are ridiculously small for $9.00. A friend of mine owns a Thai restaurant in Brooklyn and the same dish is $7.50 and you always have enough to take home.
Save you money. If I could give this joint less than 1 star I would have -
Review from Jeff O.
Woodside, NY
Great Thai in downtown Farmingdale. Not a destination, moreso a getaway. No one goes wrong by coming here. Everything on the menu I will happily enjoy.
Of note are the dishes themselves. Mine was in a cow or elephant shape. My friends was a fun star. The rest of the restaurant's seemed to be just as eclectic. How do they stack?
They have great looking whole fish. woah, "Pla Lard Prik - Deep fried whole fish topped with sweet-chili sauce." That sounds really good.
On a curious note, they have a rating of up to 3 peppers on the menu legend - but there is nothing over 2, not even the drunken noodles. I asked for my veg duck spicy, but I only drank 1.5 glasses of water. I would expect the general consensus to be sweet rather than spicy. The clientele is expectedly more white than asian so take that into consideration. I am sure the same owners in Hicksville would entice more sweats with their dishes.
See you again, Tiny Thai. -

Prices are great. Wine/Beer list is limited.
Appitizers were great! Chicken Sate, and Steamed Dumplings are my fav.
I stuck to Shrimp Pad Thai and was not disappointed. Not a huge curry/coconut milk fan (I usually find it too sweet) but it was well cone here.
Service is slow, but it is because the entire place is being run by one person. Don't come here in a rush, but instead take your time and enjoy the dining experience.
I'll be back to try more soon! -

WOW this place was amazing. I was checking out the others reviews and said why not. The Drunken Noodles was really good and the Thai ice tea was the best I've had. I even ordered the Red noodles to have later and I was extremely pleased. The Decor of the place was nice, cute and cozy. I went on a Sunday evening and it was just us and the waiter.
This place is going to be a regular for me and I can't wait to try the other dishes. -

Food is really nice and tasty. If you go for Lunch then be sure that you reach there by noon time otherwise you will have to wait at least half an hr as the restaurant is really tiny as per name. Menu is limited however it is very good and tasty.
I would recommend it to try once and experience. I always go there as it is one of my favorite. -

I really hate to do this, but I must.... Knowledge is power yelpers! This place has roaches. Yeah, cockroaches. I mean, I know most restaurants have creepy crawlers here and there, but man I don't want to see it crawling across my table. I wasn't the only patron to see roaches there in the past year either :(

Very decent Thai food for the location (Farmingdale is not quite a culinary mecca), but the service we got was ridiculous. The restaurant was packed, people were waiting at the door and others were coming in for takeout, and they had one server doing everything! It took 20 minutes for her to come and take our order, no joke. When a server is that far into the weeds, you have little hope of getting any special requests met, so our "please make it super spicy" went unnoticed. The food was OK though, and I liked that they used seitan for their fake meat. Do takeout.

I will probably change my review if I ever go back. Unless I just order my usualy....pad thai. It was slightly better than, but very similar style, to RVC's Simply Thai. Same owners? I wonder. Saucy, dark brown. Problem with this style is you feel like you're getting bursts of melted brown sugar while eating. But it does taste pretty nice. Cute place. I don't remember eating anything else. My experience was in 2006 I believe.

I used to go here every weekend. The food is amazing and the plates are funny too. I was eating pork from a plate shaped like a pig, weird huh? The wait staff is super friendly. I recommend the drunken noodles and a thai tea it's the best I've ever had.

Deer Park, NY
I saw this restaurant from the train and it looked like a cute little place in the town. I decided to give it a try.. Unfortunately, the food seemed more like fast-food chinese food than thai.
It seemed to have a loyal following though. People who came in seemed to be regulars and told the owners how they loved the place.
My guess is that they haven't tried thai food anywhere else. -

I went there because it was close to home and wanted thai because I hadn't had it in a while. I was surprised. I had the pad kee mao (drunken noddles) and it was good. Could of used a little more spice and maybe a tad bit more on the plate. My wife had the pad thai, also decent. I will be back again. I will try the curries next and let you know.

Review from Jason P.
The first time we came to Tiny Thai, the place was packed so we went somewhere else. This time we made it a point to go to Tiny Thai a little early. We got to the place at 12pm and only one table was occupied. There were about 10-15 tables (tables for 2 or 4) in the establishment, fitting approximately 30 people. The menu was pretty simple, having two prices, $7.50 for the Specialty Dishes (ex. Drunken noodle, Thai Fried Rice, etc.), and $6.95 for the Lunch Specials (pad thai, pad basil, massaman curry, sweet & sour, etc.) with Chicken, Beef, Pork, Shrimp, or Tofu. Also included with the dish was a soup or salad, and a vegetarian Thai spring roll. There are also different spice levels you can choose, ranging from 1-5.
The single bathroom was very roomy, able to fit a wheelchair, and was very clean. It almost felt like I was in a bathroom in someone's house with nicely beige tiled floor, a large portrait mirror, and a fake 4-ft plant sitting in the corner. The decor around the restaurant also very home-like with a couple wooden ceiling fans, nice wallpaper and a few murals/sculptures on the walls. Quaint but very cozy.
Service was very good here, being run by one waitress who did it all. She played the role of the hostess (seating everyone), waitress (taking orders and serving food), waterboy (refilling our glasses with water), and busboy (cleaning the tables). She came several times to the table to make sure everything was alright.
I ordered the Beef Pad Basil at spice level 3 and the soup special, which was wonton soup. The waitress was very courteous and had mentioned there was pork in the wonton, I'm guessing since some people may have a problem eating pork. I let her know I was alright with it. My 2 other colleagues ordered the sweet & sour chicken and the pad thai, complemented with the salad. After we had made our orders, our soup/salad appetizer came out in about 5 minutes. The wonton soup was very delicious, the broth was very light and subtle but had such a palatable taste. The wontons were very tender and full of flavor. But the most peculiar and interesting part was some type of green leaf vegetable that was included. Definitely a great addition to the traditional wonton soup. My colleagues had ordered the salad which appeared to be your basic lettuce, tomato and choice of dressing. By this time, which was only around 12:15pm, the place was completely full, and people were still trying to come in to be seated. I could tell this place had some great food and the large crowd spoke for it. In about another 8-9 minutes, the Thai Spring Rolls (silver noodles, cabbage, carrot and mushrooms deep fried in an egg roll skin) had come out. The Thai Spring rolls were not very oily, slightly if at all were very delicious. They were complemented with what I believe was a duck sauce with a bit of chili pepper flakes in it. The lunch entree took a bit longer to come out, about 10 minutes. The Beef Pad Basil (sauteed onions, chili peppers, bell peppers, carrots, scallions in basil sauce) with rice was very delicious. The beef was tender, veggies were just the way I like them with a bit of a crunch, not mushy. The basil sauce was not very spicy at all (for level 3) for what I was expecting. For those craving more spice, you may want to ask the waitress if she can crank it up a notch. I also found the basil sauce to be ever-so-slightly on the salty side. The dish was great regardless. My colleagues had also seemed to like their dishes very much also.
I would definitely come back here again to try their other dishes. And kudos to the one waitress (I believe her name is Jenny?) who does it all, except the cooking who I believe is performed by 3 chefs in the back. -

The food here is pretty good. I do think that the appetizer portion size was rather small and the appetizer menu was limited. The drunken noodles I ordered was really good. I defintitley recommend Tiny Thai as a place to get some good cheap eats.

I love this place. It's just so cute and cozy. Drunken Noodles and Pad Se Yew (spelling? sorry) are very good. Thai Iced tea also delicious. I used to call it my favorite place, but I just went to one in Ardmore, PA, that made me realize there is better. I have yet to find a better place on Long Island, and I've tried 3 or 4. If you're not really picky with your Thai, you will love it. I recommend not going if you're not willing to sit and wait a while, because it is slow, but in a relaxed way, not an annoying way.

I've been going to Tiny Thai for years and I really enjoy the food. Sometimes when it's crowded service can be a little bit slow but I think it's worth the wait. For starters try the bags of gold, curry puffs or a cup of wonton soup. Their wonton soup is the most delicious wonton soup i've ever had. My favorite dishes are chicken curry, chicken noodles and the volcano chicken. Their dishes can be spicy so let the waiter know if you can't handle too much spice.
