I love Tiny Cup!!
Everything is home made and taste so good!

Your food can take a very long time since they started delivery service.

Great food for great price.
All the people there are very chill and nice, too.

If you had told me 5 years ago that I would be sitting in a cafe with wi-fi and vegan muffins on Nostrand Ave., I would have laughed at you...

Food is pretty tasty, goat cheese & portobello panini and the french toast are a couple of the dishes I've tried and enjoyed.  They get bonus points for serving real maple syrup and offering turkey bacon.  You can get a full meal and a pot of tea for $10.  The baked goods are made on location and are pretty good.

cons: seating is limited and can be awkward especially when you factor in the folks with their laptops.  It gets crowded really quickly.  cash only.

It's decent. It's the closest coffee shop; Err the ONLY coffee shop near my house.  The food is ok, the people are nice, but as others have mentioned kind of disorganized.  The ambiance is ok.  Nothing special, nothing over finished: they worked well with what they had on a limited budget.  Food is basic, but alright.  Fresh cookies are always good and they're fresh every hour or two... prices have gone up slightly in the past year... it's a coffee shop. in Bed Stuy.

oh le tiny cup. moi j'taime. where have you been all my life? and by life i mean the last year living in bedstuy slogging to the g train every day feeling cut off from the burgeoning creative underclass happenings in the more fashionable parts of north brooklyn. the food here is excellent. neighborhood kids trail in and out to buy BLT sandwiches and play quick games of scrabble and there is plenty of friendly looking communal seating. Plus, oddly, i've scoped out the layout enough times to unscientifically determine that somebody fung-shui'd this place! i'm serious. every seat faces the room. ay-mazing. maybe the only detractor is the lack of iced decaf. but i can't detract .0000000005 stars can i?
P.S. i'm writing this using Tiny Cup's excellent FREE wifi.  OH TINY CUP, TU ES BEAU. marry me?

As much as I want to, I just can't bring myself to really like this place.  The BLT did hit the spot... but does it really take 40 minutes to make a few strips of bacon?  I find the staff, while reasonably friendly, to be disorganized.  They forgot my iced mint tea with my meal and when I reminded them, it ended up being too bitter to finish.

I can see why some would feel the ambiance is great, but it just comes off as dirty and unfinished to me.  It gets extremely cramped when there are more than afew people in line.  At least they get the music right.

Such a bummer.  Right around the corner from me and wasteful.

The coffee is downright awful.  Baristas here are uneducated in pulling a decent espresso drink.  House coffee... terrible.  The food is okay/bad.  I do crave the little salad you get with everything, but it isn't worth the coffee, laptop whores and annoying students discussing art history as loud as can be.

If the laundry mat next door didn't suck so bad I might stick it out here... but all in all it just isn't worth it.  Go to Choice.

The coffee is average which is a shame since they bill themselves as a coffee shop which they aren't really - it's a cafe. The food is actually pretty decent too - not as good as Colador a few blocks east but nice. What is nicer is the light of which there's a ton and the atmosphere is very casual.

Sadly it's that nice atmosphere that is also what sucks about the place. Laptop refugees park their lazy wireless asses in every seat in the house morning noon and night and if you had the idea to sit down to eat you will find that it is nearly impossible to do - good luck. Since sitting and eating go together for me I find that this place is a bit of a disappointment  and so I rarely go there unless the hours are really off or I see an open seat when I go by. This is downside of free wireless.

Who the heck is saying this place is good for groups? Groups of laptops? Groups of people who enjoy standing? WTF?

The food is amazing.  I think much better than Colador.  The best pancakes I've had in years (with strawberry butter!), and pretty good iced coffees.  And I'm pretty addicted to their egg&cheese panini.  It's excellent.

I recently moved a little farther east in Bed-Stuy, and one of my regrets is that the walk to Tiny Cup, which was doable before, is now a little farther than I'm willing to do on a hungover sleepy morning. It's still within biking distance, though. Tiny Cup is a great place to go, get a strong well-made cup of coffee, and some breakfast.

Unfortunately, everyone in the neighborhood has the same idea. Good luck getting a seat. That's about the only drawback to this place. If you live near enough to make it here, you should give it a shot.

I noticed the other day this cafe had a "people love us on yelp" sign in the window so it seemed logical to review it, as its one of the first places in the area I've noticed has that sign. I've been going to this place in spurts through the past 18 months or so and found it consistently nice. The food is very competent, and the pastries are often even better, the cappuccinos verging on exceptional. Its generally pretty relaxed, but gets quite crowded in the mornings especially and so its best to expect to wait around a bit feeling awkward if you go at one of those peak times.

Also, as a useful side note, they have wireless, which can be lifesaving in the right circumstances, especially as wireless is not exactly widespread in this part of Brooklyn yet.

Today me and my computer came here on a "job search" date. The BLT w/Chipotle  mayo was amazing....ummm, real bacon. And I think my coffee was only 50 Cents!  The last time I had the omelette.
Believe the hype, pray for seating & enjoy;-)

The food is to die for, and although Colador Cafe's coffee is better, in terms of food and ambiance, Tiny Cup is the definite winner.  From milkshakes to heavenly sandwiches to vegan treats - I always have a difficult time choosing between the scrumptious options.  AND you get two free cookies when you order delivery - if you're lucky, it's the hot boy with dreads that brings it to you!

I am coming to you direct from Tiny Cup.  Seated at an uncommon, but not out of place, picnic table; positioned at the center of an assortment of thrift shop furniture, with its vintage features and mix-match prints.

Most notable are the 'homemade' Chai lattes.  I am on a quest to find the best Chai, from Chicago to New York, and I have found it!  Oregon Chai concentrates, need not apply, as a rule they should be erased from the blackboards of cafes across America.

On to the desserts . . . the Lavender Shortbread is a must try.  I savor the taste of Lavender, and this is a creative use of one of my favorite, and underused herbs.

This is the place to come to if you're looking for a big smile, and a cheerful 'Good Morning' with your coffee.  So bring your laptop and come enjoy  free wireless.

So I've been back to Tiny Cup because I've exhausted or been disappointed by the other options. In the last week, I've been back quite a bit.

The bagel, cream cheese, smoked salmon plate is delicious. It comes with cucumbers and capers, tomato and onions. Really good and filling. I had mine on a toasted everything bagel.

Another time I got an egg salad sandwich. I know egg salad is simple, but they've added radishes for a bit of crunch. Very yummy. And it comes with the house salad - butter lettuce, chick peas, sunflower seeds and a vinaigrette. I think it's a steal for $5.

The staff is nicer and more attentive than before. Good music on their playlist. It's been a good place to get grad school work done and check out who's in the neighborhood.

Tiny Cup is a nice open and airy coffee shop.  The service is great, and the food is affordable and good.  I had the roasted chicken sandwich, and they substituted ingredients for me w/o making a big stink about it.

The FREE wifi is very fast, and I'll be here more often to take advantage of it.  I love the interior; the New York and Bed-Stuy themed art is charming.

Try the jasmine green tea.  It's good stuff.

.. don't get a specialty drink like a mocha.. you'll probably be disappointed, failed attempts at coffee art make me think that until it's mastered behind closed doors that it shouldn't be attempted in a customers drink.

was that a leaf? a heart? a spiral? ...?  the food is decent though and it is around the corner.  go with a reg. coffee and you'll be okay, I assume. stay golden.

Cute place. Friendly staff. Excellent selection of food for a coffeehouse, including breakfast panini sandwiches, large and tasty muffins, a create-your-own omelette or salad menu,  quiche of the day, granola and oatmeal, and lots of veggie and vegan options. They also have an inventive list of sandwiches and salads for lunch.

So far I've had a taste of the bagel plate with smoked salmon, onions, tomatoes, capers, and cream cheese; a honey granola muffin; a ham, egg, and fontina panini, and a cardamom shortbread cookie, and all were pretty tasty.

Not sure where the complaints about the coffee are coming from. I like to think I'm pretty discerning when it comes to coffee, and their drip was quite good. If they are roasting Porto Rico coffee as was suggested by another Yelper -- that's a pretty good local roaster. Also, you can order a French press (for one or two) if you don't want drip. My wife and I split one and thought it was fantastic.

Good prices, too.

I'll definitely be back...

EDIT 10/27/08 - Have been here several times and can really give it a fair assessment now... and some other reviewers are right, the coffee is not that great. I tend to order a red-eye in the morning to beef it up, and it's pretty good, since the espresso is definitely better than the drip. Some of the staff can be a little spacey and aloof, too, but for the most part are friendly and provide good service. This still gets four stars,  though, because the sit-down french press coffee is actually much better than the drip; the atmosphere is very pleasant; and the food is really tasty. I had a bacon, egg, and fontina breakfast panini recently that was deee-licious.

Edit: Service much improved.

These guys are totally friendly, and totally nice, and their service totally sucks. So two stars off for that...the menu is standard and good; nothing to write home about, but I've tried most of it by now (live around the corner) and haven't been disappointed in quality or quantity yet.

I know this place is new and all, but it's been open for about a month and the service has not gotten any better at all.  I've been there about 6 times, and 5 of those visits have resulted in being given the wrong food or being told that they were out of whatever it was I wanted to order.

Avoid at all costs.

i dig tiny cup because it's close to home. their bagels and baked goods are hard to beat, and i really really love their home made oj. plus I always like getting a tasty salad with my eggs during brunch.

- i'm not too keen on their coffee, but the service there has really gotten better over the past two years. If they could have a couple outside tables this place would be amazing!

Tiny Cup is a great new coffee shop/bakery/sandwich place in Bed Stuy. The corner location has windows on both sides and a nice, bright interior. They make great use of the space, with a large shared table in the main room, as well as some smaller tables and cozy chairs, plus they tucked away a couple tables in a hallway, which feel a little cramped but make for much-needed extra seating.

I didn't look too closely at the full menu, but Tiny Cup has a large selection of sandwiches and panini in addition to fresh baked goods. When I went, I had the breakfast panini with egg and fontina, which was sizeable and came with a small salad for only $2.50. I had had enough coffee for the day, so had an iced tea, which was lightly sweetened and lemoned and very refreshing.

I will definitely be back at Tiny Cup often... It's a very welcome addition to the neighborhood.

i've only been here once. i got a beet salad and chai latte to go (on a cold, rainy day).

latte was about 1/3 foam. booooooooooooooo.

beet salad was SUPPOSED to be: mixed greens, roasted corn, beets, goat cheese, sunflower seeds with (orange?) vinagrette.

it was ACTUALLY lettuce, canned corn (seemed like a whole can), beets, NO goat cheese, and a LOT of sunflower seeds.  and too much dressing.

i ate the beets, some lettuce, and threw the rest away.

if i lived closer - if it hadn't been raining - i would've taken it back for a refund. but i didn't.

the menu actually looks good, which is why they get 3 stars instead of 1.   they get mad boos for that day, but everybody raves about it, so i'll give it another try.

Yeah, this is my new jam.  The atmosphere, the service, the coffee, the cookies...all great. I haven't had their food, but that's going to change this weekend. And its location is great for me as I'm only a few blocks away.  I stil love Pillow, but there is something about this place that just feels right.  Definitely packed because everybody else loves the place...the laptop crowd will glue themselves to their seats for the whole morning, so you gotta get there before they do.  Hey Tiny Cup...Big Ups!!!!

personally, I'm a fan of the glittery tea cups hanging from the ceiling and walls.  coffee's decent and the space affords a nice collection of people, some from my Bed Stuy hood, lots of Pratt people (it seems), and other BKLYN roamers.

wifi can be sketchy and intermittent, but usually works just fine.  snarky notes in bathroom are also fun.

I wish they offered at least one gluten-free sweet.

With their mediocre coffee, this place would get a 2 star usually, but where I'm living this is the best we got - so I upped it a  notch.

Cute decor, a few Ikea type chairs, spread Starbucks style to enable easy laptop perusal. They also have a wide array of yummy munchies which their friendly staff will happily serve  up for you.

However, their coffee is weak! This may be a bit snobby, but I feel as an addict who drops around $7 a day on my choice substance, I'm entitled to a bit of connoisseurship.  It tastes like the mid-grade grocery store variety, served with listed amount of tap water.

To summarize, if coffee's what you want you're better off making your own, and if desparate going to the Dunkin donuts across the street.  But if you're in the neighborhood, and want a coffee shop to make you feel like you aren't, then come over to Tiny Cup.

HOORAY TINY CUP!!! A true bright spot in Bed-Stuy right at the Bedford-Nostrand G stop. Good coffee, tea, food, staff, music, atomsphere, everything! I work at a youth hostel in the neighborhood, and no one I send there is ever disappointed. Try the perennial favorite French Toast w/ strawberry butter or the Avocado Brie Sandwhich. This is the first cafe where the woman making my macchiato asked me how much milk I wanted in my beverage. It was a considerate gesture to preface a superb drink. It doesn't hurt that this is the closet cafe to my apt. Maybe that makes me a little biased.

I come here maybe 2 or 3 times a week (I don't have internet in my apartment and this place has free wifi... I'm here right now, actually!) - Overall, the staff is pretty friendly... I'm not sure what happened to make the other person give this 1 star, but I've never had a bad experience. They have art all over the walls and it's pretty cozy. If it's busy, it can seem really cramped. The food is good and inexpensive. Try the cookies :)

These guys are such over-achievers. Moroccan mint tea, egg creams, milkshakes, delicious baked items, yummy paninis with fantastic side salads -- all on the menu. A bike rack out front that accommodates more than just a couple bikes. These are just the extra surprises; they have all the standards, too. Kind of everything you could want in your local cafe.  And they don't just do it straight: the fruit salad comes with coconut shavings and dried figs on top, the bagels are Bergen, the decor is cute and comfy but not overdone (and, on a sentimental note, reminds me of this adorable little place in Stockholm). I really appreciate that their chai tea latte isn't too sweet. Plus a great neighborhood feel, everyone friendly and hanging out comfortably (or mostly-comfortably -- the place can get crowded). One minus: pancakes are way over-priced given the portion size.

I lived around the corner for a year and was never, ever disappointed. The only problem was being able to scrape enough money together to afford it. I've had pretty much everything on the menu, and my favorite is the brie, avodcado, and cucumber baguette. Their coffee is pricey but strong as hell and usually worth it. Their pastries are awesome and they often have free samples in the morning. It's the only place of its kind in the area, aside from a mediocre coffee place on Bedford, so it gets VERY crowded. The free wifi is nice but it's often hard to find a free seat, especially one by an outlet. The owner is very nice and so are the employees, although there seems to be an unusually high employee turnover rate.  Doesn't affect the quality or service, though.

Ever wanted a place that makes you feel like your on "Friends"? Well, Tiny Cup is the new Urban "Friends". Whether you are hanging out alone, molesting their french toast or you are holding a business meeting; Tiny Cup makes the experience feel surreal. The atmosphere is so laid back and welcoming, you find yourself going there even when you don't have a craving for their french toast. You can mix with like minded people as well as mingle with different minds. What brings you together is that you are all free spirits who enjoy a cozy intimate cafe; while listening to good music and surfing the web. If you are ever in Brooklyn, stop by and say Hi...I try not to bite.

I stop by Tiny Cup every weekday morning for the wonderful loose-leaf tea and the delicious muffins. I've also tried the sandwiches, the lemonade (unsweetened, but I like it like that), iced tea, brownies and cookies and all were totally delicious, better than I've had elsewhere in Brooklyn (coughnaidrescough). Even though there's slim pickings in the neighborhood, Tiny Cup doesn't act all like you've got to take what they give you because you've got no alternative. Plus it's a nice place to sit and sip. No idea what it might be like on weekends--probably crowded.
