The girlfriend and I went out on a Borders run last night at 8-ish so I could use my 50% off coupon (expires: 11/19!) to pick up the Bill Simmons Book of Basketball (yes, I'm a sports nerd). Not wanting the chain store dreck that has pemeated Meyerland Plaza, I put my the Yelp lobe of my brain to work and tried to recall the "Hot on Yelp" list nearby (yeah, I need that iPhone). The only thing I could think of close was Tiny Boxwood's.

When we FINALLY got there, I finally remembered all those Yelp reviews that I'd read.
(A) Finding the place is a toughie. Here's a hint: turn north on Saint St. More importantly,
(B) This is definitely a lunch place. Finally,
(C) Bring the girlfriend. Luckily, I remembered to do this one.

This is a definite date spot winner or, as mentioned in the reviews, for "ladies who lunch." It's a boxed restaurant that faces a nursery, so it was a lovely garden view. This is wasted at night, hence the lunch suggestion. The ambiance also reminds me of the ever-sprouting wine bar + trendy food places, which is so not the case as their wine menu is minute, to say the least.

Enough blabbering; onto the food! The girlfriend and I shared a glass of Riesling (morning test for her + morning 2-hour meeting for me = no alcohol partying), which was fine, except the portion size was ridiculously small. I suggest going bottle here. For the food, we shared the crimini mushroom pizza and the shrimp risotto. Despite my affinity to red sauce, the white-based dishes were surprisingly tasty. I will say that the chef does not have an aversion to salt or pepper, so be prepared for plentiful helpings of both. That said, the dishes had a nice blend of flavors. The risotto had a surprisingly tangy/sour taste, which was like heaven for my tastebuds. It's also one of their best sellers (and apparently we snagged the last one for the night, much to the chagrin of the table who ordered right after us).

To summarize, I strongly suggest coming here during the day, with nice weather, and outside seating. At that point, the food is almost a secondary concern.

Had I known how tucked away this place was, I'da did a preemptive search before finding in the dark on a Friday nite.  Even after reading the reviews and despite being less than 5 minutes from where I live, I had trouble finding it.  Who knew that a gardening center hid such a gem?

I came in and i thought "Isn't this a coffee house?  Are the really gonna serve me a dinner?"  This is a coffee tea spot, but they also serve up some great dishes.  After my eyes adjusted to the gigantic blackboard I saw it was more than just coffee here.  I was in for some culinary hotness... I smiled in anticipation.....
This place is like walking into a wonderland of sorts.  Everything is cute and trendy, and it seems like the ladies really dig the cuteness factor.  From the outdoor space to the indoors, it was as as cute as that little Shih-Tzu puppy in the window in the pet store fogging up the window begging for your affection.

The food?  All i will say is that I've had 20 dollar burgers before and they couldn't hold a match to the Lamb burger I had there.  Tender, juicy and the perfect toppings.  The fries were like shredded hash brown sticks with enuff potato to be interesting.  I also tried the pizza from the 600 degree wood burning oven.  Superb toppings, perfect crust, a lil small but worth it for the toppings alone.  I like that the menu items change so I have something to look forward to when I return on another day.

The staff although busy on a Friday were more than accommodating.  i was greeted by 3 staff as well as the chef, who i had to bow to for the best lamb burger ever.  I love places that give legendary service on busy nites!

All in all, It's well worth the trip, bring a flashlight and a rabbits foot, you'll need both to find this place, but it'll be well worth the search for a fantastic meal.

Yelpers were definitely right about finding the location of Tiny Boxwoods, you definitely gotta search for it!

We missed breakfast by 2 minutes since it stopped serving at 11AM, so my friend and I stayed for lunch. There aren't prices with the menu on the board, but you can check them out on their online menu first.  I must say, this place was pretty pricey. But with the outside view and the garden, it's worth going to! They also have a barista who whips up all kinds of coffees and lattes, and the cups are huge!

I ordered the Frenchman (~$11) (prosciutto layered between
tomatoes, goat cheese, and basil pesto served on sourdough bread) with a choice of fruit, fries or salad. If you're into goat cheese and prosciutto, this is a must try. Only thing about this is that it was pretty greasy! But delicious anyways!

My friend ordered the steak and avocado salad and that was a good portion. I think it could have fed 2.  The dressing on the salad went well with the meal. :)

If you eat here, you have to take advantage and try to eat outside in the garden area! One another thing about this restaurant is that, the patrons there all seem to be upper class, snooty group. :( So I wouldn't suggest coming in scrub clothes here, but who cares right? :)

Finally, a new breakfast spot to add to the rotation.  The food is outstanding and the patio is an amazing setting for those three months in the spring and the three months in the fall when Hosuton has the best weather.

The breakfast tacos were good, not great.  But then again, why would a French restaurant have excellent Mexican.  The croissants were perfect, and the quiche my wife had was probably the best either of us have ever had.  Susage, mushrooms, gruyerre, wow!.  If real men don't eat quiche, I will leave my Y chromosome at home.

Houston has a ton of great breakfast places. However, after most, I feel like I either need to take a nap or run 10 miles. I had to wake up early last Saturday morning to pick up my sis from the airport. I figured we'd go get some food afterwards. I was craving this place in SF that I loved called Ella's. They use fresh ingredients but is a bit on the pricey side. I used my trusty Yelp application and found Tiny Boxwood's.

If you didn't have directions to this place, you would go right past it. I couldn't even tell there was a restaurant even after parking in their parking lot. Once we parked and walked into the open area, I was impressed. It was exactly what I was looking for. It had a CA cafe feel to it and reminded me a little of this place I used to go to called Zinc Cafe in Laguna Beach. It was about 9 AM and not busy at all which was perfect.

We walked up to the counter and my girlfriend ordered the meal that came with 2 hard boiled eggs, grilled toast and fresh strawberry jam. My sister and I both ordered the fresh fruit, granola, and yogurt meal. I also ordered a blueberry muffin and a vanilla latte. I can't even tell you how pleased I was with my breakfast. The fruit was fresh and firm...not soggy at all. The latte was served in an enormous mug and I think it might have been made with love because it was the best I've had.

My girlfriend is a big breakfast fan and was skeptical on her meal. However, once she dug in, she was definitely happy with her decision. The grilled toast was the highlight. I know, it sounds weird, but neither of us had tried grilled toast and it was amazing...for toast.

The food quality was some of the best in Houston. For 3 meals, 2 lattes, and a blueberry muffin, the price came to about $33. It was a bit much for what you get, but in my opinion it was well worth it. I will be coming here again shortly to sit outside on the patio for more breakfast or maybe a late lunch and wine will be the next trip.

All the reviews (at least the last 3 because thats all i read) have been pretty spot on.  This place is pretty cool overall and a decent date place.   I took a date here for dinner one evening and loved the ambiance.   A couple of notes should be mentioned about the place.  When turning into Saint St from W.Alabama, with the nursery being your first entrance on your right, the parking is pretty limited.  There is more parking on the street side but if you keep driving past the art stores and then the 4 white town homes with the sunken looking garages on the right, you will find designated Boxwood parking sitting at the corner, right before the next cross street.

So onward to the place.. as soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the cool looking square green grass patch with an inviting wicker couch in the middle of it and small wrought iron tables lined around the green.  To the left is the nursery with its gazebos and horticulture... and to the right, is a bleached building with big windows separated by sprawling vines reaching up towards the roof. Against the back horizontal lined grey fence.. skinny trees stand slim with little light highlights glowing down into the black rock below them.. in a word.. the place is pretty chill..

we were seated in one of the tables lined along the perimeter of the green square.  She opted for the sangria and I had a glass of  delicious reisling.  Recommended by the waiter, we got the French picnic which consisted of italian bread, kalamata olives, goat cheese, and pesto sauce which was very good.  They give you alot of bread.  I do remember thinking the french picnic felt more italian than french.  Anyway, it was very good and was enough to probably feed 2 guys and 1 girl or 4 girls alone based on the quantity.  Next we opted for the pizzas which we had heard about.  She got the White truffle mushroom pizza and i got the spicey sausage and goat cheese pizza.  I thought spicey goat cheese was too spicey for me.  esp when paired with the reisling,  Not a good match.  Now for her pizza...I'll have to say, i could double up on the white truffle mushroom alone my next round because it was just that GOOD.  its up there on the same levels of my Max's mac n cheese liking.  It is delish!  Following that, we decided to try the bread pudding made with Nuttella.  I've never thought of mixing the two.  That was a little bit rich in my book but very still very good.  I don't like things too rich but thats just me.

All in all, a very excellent meal.  I will have to give them further props that evening, it got super chilly outside and I saw my date was getting especially cold so I inquired to see if they had any heaters in the back somewhere other than the one they had by the hostess.  So what they do?  they go grab the heater by the hostess and place it behind my date.  I felt a little bad for the hostess but it seems they always had her on the run moving something or seating someone.  Later on in the evening, they started to bring out more heaters around the square green so no one else had to retire indoors.  Anyway, I was very appreciative of the good above and beyond service.

will definitely be back..

What a charming, hidden little gem to find in the middle of Houston. Tiny Boxwood's is anything but Tiny.  They've done a wonderful job with the landscaping. You feel like you're walking into a museum courtyard on a beautiful sunny day. Inside, the space has large windows overlooking the garden - it feels intimate, pastoral - a scene transposed from somewhere in Napa.   This is the perfect lunch date and perfect way to spend a sunny morning or afternoon. We ordered the turkey club, which was toasted to perfection and tasted like a panini, excellent, in fact. A chocolate chip, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate chip cookie.  A steak and avocado salad (just average).  And a wonderfully rich tasting cafe-au-lait.  This is probably my new fave spot in Houston simply because it doesn't feel like Houston at all. I gave it 4 stars because they could improve on the food, but I LOVE THIS PLACE!

My boyfriend and I went to Tiny for some afternoon snacks and wine. The food is awesome overall. But I was really annoyed with our waitress. The kitchen closes for a little bit before dinner. I asked the waitress if I can see the dinner menu so I could decide if I wanted to get something now or wait for dinner. She handed us the menu after asking 3 times and then walks away for about 25 minutes. When she comes back she says the kitchen is closed and that we can't order off the afternoon menu anymore. How ANNOYING!

Our Menu:
French Fries - okay
French picnic - great!
Vegetarian Pizza - awesome
Some shrimp dish - average
Desserts - even more AWESOME!!!

Cute place with a beautiful garden to look out on while you brunch.  We came on a Saturday at about 12:30 and we didn't have too much trouble finding a table.

You stand in line and order at the counter which surprised me -- you'd think they would have waitstaff at a place like this.

The brunch options are pretty simple -- pizzas, quiches, and a couple of burgers.  They also have a bottomless mimosa for $10 which I took advantage of!  I had a fruit and yogurt parfait with yummy homemade granola and very fresh strawberries and blueberries.  I also got the bacon and cheese pizza which had huge chunks of pork and goat cheese on a thin crust.  It was really delicious.  The husband had a buffalo burger which he said was a bit too salty that came with an orzo salad that I kept stealing bites of.

So why the 3 stars?

The kitchen is so incredibly disorganized.  I'm usually really patient at restaurants but this was really just terrible.

When you order they give you a number to put at your table so that they can bring your order out to you.  I suspect that the number actually means nothing.

They first brought out our fruit and yogurt parfait and proceeded to take away our friends order number.  We had to chase down the girl and explain to her that it wasn't the right order number.  So she wanted to take away our order number but we explained that we still had a pizza, a burger, and a mimosa that we were waiting for.  She looked confused but decided to trust us.  We waited for about 15 minutes which is fine, but then we started to notice that other tables next to us that ordered later than us were getting all of their dishes.  Dishes that were identical to what we ordered.  One of us went to the counter to check on the order and they reassured us that it was coming right out.  Our friends' food finally did come out.  Then the husband's burger came out.  Again they tried to remove our order number and we explained that we were still waiting on a pizza and mimosa.  (Not sure why it took so long to bring out a mimosa!)  Then they brought by another fruit and yogurt parfait but we explained that we already ate one!

Finally they brought out my mimosa.  And after watching two other tables get served their pizzas, mine finally came out.

I really hope this was just a fluke because the place really is lovely.  And it's nice to stroll through the nursery after brunch and pretend like it's not 90+ degrees outside!

I absolutely adore Tiny Boxwood's! Nestled inside the Thompson & Hanson nursery, this cute cafe gives of a casual french-chic vibe and is one of my favorite lunch spots. My pick is the Tiny's Trio salad which runs around $10 and includes chicken salad, fresh fruit, a leafy salad w/ a champagne vinaigrette, and delicious piece of bread.

Guys, even though this place gives off the girl-y vibe, their buffalo burger is to die for and has some sort of heavenly pesto blue cheese aoli sauce on it. Their fresh lemonade, and fresh-out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookies round out a perfect lunch!

Fresh food in a beautiful nursery is hard to beat. At dinner, you are seated and have a waiter, so you don't have to battle the counter crowds and hope for a nice table like at lunch time. We came in right before sunset and had the perfect combination of seeing the garden in the daylight and then transitioning to a nice dinner lit by candles after dark.

I had a fresh tomato appetizer and a pizza. After loving the first two parts of my meal so much, I couldn't skip out on dessert. The mango crumble was delicious.   Our waiter, Ben, was very attentive. He recommended the white wine sangria, which didn't disappoint. I don't know why I hadn't thought of doing sangria with a white wine before! I hear the Sunday brunch is becoming quite popular, especially with those who like the option of bottomless mimosas.

Parking space is limited. If you can't find a spot in the lot, park on the street.  The dress is preppy, River Oaks style.

I gave this place five stars because of the atmosphere.  It's in a flower nursery.  The atmosphere is amazing.  So great that I went here two nights in a row.  It might be worth a road trip from Austin to Houston to check it out again.

As for the food - it's fine.  Nothing special.  I had a filet the first night on top of tons of mashed potatoes.  It was fine.  Nothing special.  I had a pizza the second night.  It was okay, nothing special.  They added a lot of ingredients.  But I've had better.

The desserts are very interesting.  The chef does try to do quit a bit with the desserts.  So they're an added bonus.

I would definitely return the next time I go to Houston.  I just wasn't up for eating fish those two nights.  And I didn't really care for the pizza.  But it was good enough.

Very cute. Perfect for brunch. You can sit inside our outside... inside each table has fresh flowers. Staff is friendly and helpful. Outside you have a patio with a great view of their own garden where they sell their own flowers/plants. I could see how nice it would be for a small, private wedding.

Food is tasty. Sometimes it takes a while for the food to come out, but if you're unhappy, they gladly help you out until you find something you like. Parking is tough sometimes, but I think it's worth it.

I hate to write a redundant review, but yes, it is all about professional feminine lunch-ers. There were a few males, who were probably brought here under duress as estrogen is definitely on the menu. Think, Real Housewives of River Oaks.

My lunch had check marks in both the pros & cons list. Parking is a bit of a challenge, you order your meal at the counter and you seat yourself.  It all seems like work unless you're in the mood. I know, I know, Lisa A. (fellow yelper), you told me.

The dining room was crowded and we took our seats at a family-style table as there were no other ones available. Ladies in the know apparently get here earlier then we did. There are tables outside, but it was pretty chilly on this day.

Leslie & I both ordered the same meal, white bean soup, goat cheese salad and a glass of Savignon Blanc to sip. Our bill came to $40. Leslie took our soups back to the counter because they tasted as though the cook had spilled an entire bottle of vinegar in it. We weren't the only ones as another woman at the same table looked at Leslie and said, "Mine went back too".

Our salads were of fresh field greens with a small dab of goat cheese on top. Points for the salad being perfectly dressed and the toasted & buttered baguette slice that came with the salad, It was nice, but was it enough?

Breakfast is served until late in the day & the crepes with fresh fruit looked good.

We were given a take away box of freshly baked pumpkin bread, cookies  and muffins for our soup troubles. Should I give them one more star for baked goodies to make it a four rather than a three?

Note - no longer BYOB and LOTS of rug rats!

I have been to Tiny's for lunch a couple of times. When I first walked in and saw all the ladies who lunch, I had my doubts that this kind of place would really place an emphasis on delicious food done well.  But.  On both visits, the buffalo burger (with aioli and blue cheese) on a nicely toasted whole wheat bun was TOPS. The french fries were crisp and nicely salted.  And they have some of the best chocolate chip cookies in town.  I can't say what else is good but wow. That burger.  I also love the huge windows, natural light, and beautiful topiaries/lawn.

I would give this place 5 stars, but I'm going with 4 for several reasons that have already been mentioned. I'm going to put these at the end of the review because this place is too fabulous to mention the negatives first.

I ordered the hamburger and the orzo as a side. The hamburger was to die for. The meat almost melted in your mouth. It came with blue cheese which was so delicious. It tasted just like blue cheese that had been grilled. It was wonderful. Also, there was mayonnaise on the sandwich that had been mixed with pesto which was heaven.

My lunch date ordered the grilled cheese with pesto and the frites. Both were delicious. The grilled cheese came w/ a marinara dipping sauce that was lovely. Just sweet enough to really compliment the sandwich. But also went well with the french fries, my hamburger, and the orzo pasta.

Added bonus: they have coke products and orange Italian soda. It was delicious. Really, if you can get past the hassle of parking, ordering, and finding a seat, it's well worth it. The food is amazing. Also, I found all the staff to be very friendly and accomodating. They even helped people find seating when it was getting very crowded. (this is a self-seating place)

The ambiance is adorable. There is a beautiful garden shop across the way and outdoor seating that is shaded by these beautiful white umbrella.

I did not try the chocolate chip cookies, but I hear they are amazing.

Now onto the negatives:

1) Parking is a challenge
2) Standing in line to order can be annoying because there are people trying to come in and out the door and there are kids running in and out of the line
3) Seating is hard because there are limited tables and it is self seating.
4) The menu is NOT descriptive. In other words, it only lists the food item, not a description of it (think "frenchman sandwich" ... what the heck is in a Frenchman sandwich? You don't know because they don't describe it). This is annoying because usually the line is long and you feel bad asking what each menu item actually is.
5)It's true, this is definitely a "lady who lunches" kind of crowd. But there are other kinds here, and either way, everyone is perfectly nice.

Lisa A and Katie F are right on the money about the "ladies who lunch comment." But don't get me wrong; there's no pretentiousness here, but the beautiful lawn and patio, fresh white flowers on the table, and clean "spring" feeling made me want to call up a few gal pals and organize a brunch (and yes, I will be planning one soon!)

I came here with some friends for lunch after one of their friends visited yesterday and couldn't stop gushing over the grilled cheese. Keep a close eye out for the white building set on the Thompson+Hanson property, as Katie F mentioned.

The soup du jour was chilled cucumber ($4 cup/$6 bowl), so I ordered a cup along with the grilled cheese and pesto sandwich ($11). The crispy pagnotta bread sandwiched slices of aged Gouda with fresh basil pesto and was served with roasted tomato dipping sauce and my choice of a side (fries, chicken salad or fruit). My soup was exceptionally good. I'd love to know this recipe. The grilled cheese was great, probably better than Max's Wine Dive because theirs is a bit "out of control," but I couldn't help but keep eying another customer's chicken salad. I'm gonna have to try that on my next visit. Also order the mint lemonade. It was incredibly refreshing on this sunny afternoon (and they have crushed ice. Huge plus!), but I could barely taste the mint. Hope it was just that batch.

If you have enough room in the tummy, snag a fresh, ooey-gooey homemade chocolate chip cookie ($1.50). No wonder this little girl sitting behind me went ape shit when her older brother snuck a bite off hers. I was a tad bit annoyed after she just wouldn't let it go, but after I had a few bites of Nik's cookie, I totally sympathize with you, little girl. Those are definitely worth crying over. I snagged a couple to-go and will enjoy them tonight with my Bailey's ... I mean, coffee.

Also of note is that the service was really friendly. You don't really get much interaction with the staff because the menus are displayed on a huge blackboard, you order at the register, are given a number and the food is brought to you. (You can also opt to sit at the espresso bar) However, on my way out, one of the baristas/manager/or perhaps owner, Chris, approached me and asked me if I enjoyed my visit and also welcomed me back. If you've read my Yelps, you know I LOVE that--who wouldn't?

Note: they don't have their beer or liquor permit yet, so I asked Chris if it was BYOB. Technically it's not, but he mentioned that it probably wouldn't be an issue. (I guess it's your call if you want to be "that guy/girl." You know, the one who whips open a bottle of Tito's Vodka from her purse. Ahem. Hypothetically speaking.)

First, let me say I am not a sandwich type of girl, but this place just might have converted me.  My roommate raved about it to the point it was so annoying I just had to go to shut her up.  Of course as you can tell by my rating I am SO glad I did.  I am now a repeat offender; grill cheese, burgers, melt in your mouth cookies, the fresh mint lemonades all excellent!  The atmosphere, right next to one of the nicest plant nurseries in Houston, is perfect for a big girls' brunch or little romantic lunches with someone special.  On most visits I have seen the head chef in action or working the floor which is a huge plus for me.  Overall I strongly recommend that you head there this weekend whether it's brunch or lunch you will not be disappointed.

Are you a lady? Do you like to lunch? Then this place is for you.

I don't know if I qualify for "lady" status, I didn't have a baby in tow, and I wasn't out with my extended sisterhood or Mother so I felt a little out of place in the sea of tan, thin women fashionably clad and dripping with diamonds (am I beginning to sound like Danielle Steele?). I won't fault Tiny Boxwood though and I think these ladies must be intelligent bunch, as well as rich, because it's a lovely little place to grab a sandwich, salad and a spot of lemonade. The nearby gardens, groomed green lawn and pristine white umbrellas will make for a peaceful lunch outing come fall and apparently Tiny Boxwood will soon be open longer hours for pizzas, cheese plates and wine.

I'm being a little generous with the four stars since I didn't think my $13.50 sandwich (The Frenchman: prosciutto, goat cheese and tomato with pesto sauce), chips and soda were exceptional but it won't keep me from returning to explore the menu a little further.

A lovely cafe with gorgeous ambiance.  I have been there two times and both times were enjoyable.  I recommend "The Frenchman" sandwich.  Sourdough grilled with prosciutto, baked goat cheese and pesto basil spread.  Delectable!

You may feel a bit out of place as the crowd is comprised of the wives and daughters of the ruling class of Houston.  Finding seating might be difficult between the hours of 11 and 2.

You can smoke on the patio, but I often have felt too intimidated to do so and enjoy my smoke.

A bit expensive too, but otherwise really pleasant, isolated and relaxing cafe with delicious food.

Anyway, their special "club" for Sunday brunch was thoroughly yummy, with plenty of garlic in that pesto (a good thing), and a good balance of turkey and bacon in the rest of the sandwich.  Not such typically excessive portions either, which is refreshing in Houston.  Speaking of refreshing, get the Orange Julia.

But don't get terminated!

If you can find it, you will be rewarded with one of the best lunches of your life.  Tiny's is located on the grounds of Thompson+Hanson, a high-end gardening store.  It mainly serves the "ladies who lunch" crowd, but the employees aren't uppity at all.  They're happy to show you what they're about.

For starters, try the La Provencal salad with champagne vinaigrette and goat cheese toast.  That thing will fill you up if you aren't careful.  I had the seasonal white bean soup, which had quite a bit of spice and lots of flavor.  If you're hungrier, the buffalo burger should satisfy you, especially because it comes with a choice of several sides (all the sandwiches do).  My all-time favorite is The Frenchman, mainly because it is a panini that involves both prosciutto and goat cheese.

Above all else, do not forget dessert.  Make sure to ask for one of those unassuming chocolate chip cookies next to the register on the counter, especially if they've just taken them out of the oven.  It's a recipe for certain bliss.

I've only eaten once at Tiny Boxwood's and I was there for dinner (only served Wed-Sat nights). The atmosphere is very Zen and nice yet casual. We started with an incredibly thin crust margherita pizza, delicious but closer to a cracker than pizza dough. I ordered the sea bass which was nothing to write home about compared to the fillet with mashed potatoes served with a balsamic reduction which surely came straight from our sweet Lord himself. It was like a sweet gravy I wanted to take home and bathe in. Also, I highly recommend the white sangria, it's delightful. We finished splitting three desserts: chocolate bread pudding (like the best cinnamon roll you've ever had, it's a must!), a warm chocolate chip cookie and ice cream (wish I could buy a dozen, they are awesome), and a strawberry shortcake which was really good but couldn't compare to the other two. We all said that we must go back for brunch, it just seems like a good brunchy place.

Deff a place for the ladies who lunch!! But forget the fact your surrounded by  a sea of diamonds and focus on the ambiance and the food. The location is gorgeous, tucked away although your right on West Alabama and although the food can be a little overpriced it is extremely tasty in a french provincial type of way... its like a little paradise tucked away right on a major road... go on a nice sunny day but expect to find it difficult to park and to wait to order.. still lovely!

All of the reviews are right on target, that's what drew me to this place. I work around the corner and had to check it out.
I went with a friend on a gorgeous day. We tried to sit outside but it was completely packed so we ended up sitting at the bar next to all women. It was interesting eavesdropping on their conversations; they were young, definitely didn't work and their job was to take care of their children. The convo fit the mold of the neighborhood (no offense)...
On to the food: I had the grilled cheese sandwich. It was very tasty but I left with a bad stomach ache... too much cheese! That's my fault though for being a little lactose intolerant. My friend got a salad and didn't each much of it, actually, she hated it.
The fresh baked chocolate chip cookies presented on a wood cheese board looked awesome. Since my cheese sandwich costed roughly 12, I didn't want to add a cookie to it.
This place was worth a shot but too pricey for lunch.
