Review from Danielle O.
Brooklyn, NY
I should preface this by saying I came here for my birthday party and because of my wonderful friends I had a blast so maybe my review is a little biased...
But I think it's a decent NYC karaoke place. The room was big enough to accomodate about 20-30 people, and even though the song selection wasn't the best, it was good enough to have a good time. We brought in all our food and alcohol and made an absolute mess and got no compliants from the staff, which was nice.
It was hot as hell though (they claimed the A/C was on but no one could feel it despite our many pleas to crank it up) so I would suggest avoiding Tinga Tinga in the summertime.
But if you want to sing with some friends, are ok with BYOB then Tinga Tinga gets the job done. -

The music selection leaves much to be desired: 90% Korean songs, 5% English and the rest if you can figure out how to navigate the remote.
If you're content with singing an assortment of random pop songs that total about 400 and stop at about 2004, then you'll be fine here. Otherwise, I'd try Toto down the street which is about the same price and updates its songs monthly (they even had songs from the future!).
However, the price is great $40/hr/4pp + $5 extra/hr/pp and it's BYOB and food! Can't beat that if you're planning on getting wasted at a karaoke joint. -

On the outskirts of K-Town lies a sketchy building in which lies a sketchy lobby, elevator, and hallway that leads to this karaoke oasis. Not only is it friendly to the wallet but it's also lovely to the liver (or not so lovely depending on how you look at it) because it's BYO! The staff is nice and they don't harass you much. It's a very relaxed live and let sing atmosphere. We had an awesome new years here two years ago and I'll be heading back this Saturday so I'll let ya'll know how it is.

No frills, kind of dingy, not the best, with a song menu in a foreign lanuguage with a remote nearly impossible to decipher kind of sums this place up if you're a pessimist. BYOB, cheap, with an exxtremely relaxed staff, and rooms with glow in the dark grafitti walls sums it up if you're an optimist. If you wnat a careless night of drunk as you want to be, no staff watching or telling you what todo or not do karaoke abandon and aren't afraid of potentially getting stuck in their elevator for 20 minutes like my two friends did then I totally recommend this place.Setting stanards it wasnot, but I definitely remeber having a great time...from what I can remember anyway....

the rooms are nice. it's byob. that's about it. you can come here ONE time and have a good go of it, but there just aren't enough songs to sing to warrant a second visit.
