Um.....
So, if the stuffwhitepeoplelike dot com guys write a blog entry about how white people like dive bars, it would be inspired by this place. They would mention things such as "hole in the wall," "dark and dingy," "nappy furniture," "muffin tops," "sleeves," and "PBR on tap" in their entry.
Time Out's pretty good for seeing a show. It's close to Concord BART. The crowd can be a motley bunch. Save for the patio, nothing special.

Oh...Time Out. How I adore you for your shows and gigantic patio!
But would it kill you to clean the floor? I literally stepped out of my shoe last night, because it was stuck to the floor. and that was early on in the evening, the real drink spilling hadn't even begun...
My friends band (SlowBurn) played there last night, but I missed half the set because they changed the order of bands an hour before the show.
Although, I did get to see Lavish Green (an OG bay area band) so that was pretty rad.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Total hole in the wall, but awesome.
I went here a few months ago... okay like over a year ago.. whatever. for a Rebelution concert. But it was awesome, like a giant dive bar.
We brought a friend of mine here who had never even been to a bar before and had the bartender whip up all kinds of new cocktails so that she could get a feel for her favorite drink. It was awesome, he just kept em coming and i ended with a tab for three people just under $50 dollars.
They even have an upstairs room, which at the time Rebelution was occupying, that can be used as a smoking room.
The night was kind of a blur, but I seem to remember pool tables...
They also have an outdoor patio...
Oh and also, they let your drunken friends sleep in their cars in the parking lot. In the drivers seat. Always a plus.
I'm down to go here again any night of the week.

I love bars with a patio :) you can go outside with your beer, enjoy the sunshine.. they had regular pitchers, mini pitchers, pints and bottled beer with decent selections minus the fact that they were out of blue moon.. but i'll forgive.
only been here once, my friends love coming here and it seems pretty chill. apparently they have shows, which is pretty cool.
i'd totally go back.

It's a dive, ok. Nothing wrong with that. The crowd can get a bit shady, but that's the point of a dive. A band I'm in plays here from time to time and I have to say, we invariably have a lot of fun. The sound guy and door folk treat us right. The crowd seems to enjoy live music, as they sway drunkenly to it.
(Also, they got a new PA system in the past few months, and live music sounds much better now than it used to. It's loud, though, so bring ear plugs, or ask the bartender for a pair.)
Basically, if you want to have fun, check out the bands who are playing before you go. If it's gangsta rap or metal I'd personally pass. But if it's reggae or ska, go and dance and have some fun.

So I stepped in here after my friend and I couldn't figure out what to do. It was two dollar corona tuesday, and though I didn't partake, the karaoke was kinda neat to watch.
The bar was very much a blue collar bar. Very jeans and flip flops. And all about the chicks with beer guts and tight clothing. I was a little annoyed when this girl kept screaming when guys would try to dance with her.
Meh.

This place has been a staple for me for many years. Chill place, cool regulars, cheap drinks, and a huge patio. It is the complete definition of dive bar and is a great place to bring people together - and meet someone new who might end up being a lifelong friend.
The first time out I stepped foot into this place (last week) I felt like I'd been there a thousand times before. Take that for whatever it's worth. It's a nice divey place with a decent rock jukebox.
I don't know it's nuances just yet, thus the low-ish rating. I plan to blow off a lot of steam there.

You know how when you step foot inside the DMV, you see people you never normally see in your day to day life? It's as if you have entered an alternate reality full of mutants...dudes in wife beaters, women missing teeth (and usually, bras) and the occasional retarded person there to get a picture ID. Who are these people and where do they lurk (and i do mean, lurk) normally? Well, gather round. I've cracked one of the biggest mysteries of our time.
Time Out Sports Bar in Concord, CA is where these people hang out at night.
This is the type of bar you might see a midget making out with a really fat person in a corner and be like, "oh well, duh."
Totally worth making a road trip out of SF to see. I am 100% serious. Just don't bring me as I've already been once and the nightmares are potent.

This place is pretty awesome, if you ask me. We played a show last saturday night here with(The Release),Pion 2 Zion, MMFM, Red Cup Affair(ALL THESE BANDS ROCK LOOK THEM UP!). I didn't see anything bad about this place at all, bar staff is nice(and hot!), all the rest of security and ticketholder were cool as hell too. We opened up to a okay sized crowd...but then like everyone left after our set! I think we had about 5 people there that we actually knew, so im not too sure whats up with that because all the other bands seriously kicked ass!
Only reason im not giving 5 stars is cause the bathroom door doesnt shut! the burrito from next door was killing me!
Exactly what you'd want out of a dive bar.
Don't get me wrong, I love a good dive bar. But, most dive bars have some sort of charm. I went here with two of my friends to play pool because Vinnie's was having a league tournament. There are two tables and the first one we tried was so slanted, when you placed a ball down it rolled. We lost our money on this table. The second table was much better.
My biggest annoyance was the drinks and bartenders. Not only did I have to pay $6 for a mixed drink on a tuesday, she also didn't know what a Seabreeze was. She had to ask me what was in it. Ask it turns out $6 gets you less than an oz. of booze.
After two games we decided to close our tabs. (in case you're wondering it's a $10 min for cards, so don't go for just one drink if you don't have cash) I had gotten two mixed drinks but when I got my bill I had also apparently gotten a couple of beers. I told the bar tender I didn't and she was trying to convince me I had. So she "cancelled" me first order and rang me back up with the correct amount on it.
The next day I checked my bank account and she had charged me twice. I had to call my bank and have it fixed. It was a waste of my time. Credit cards aren't a new invention, you should know how to work your machine quickly and effieciently. If you can't do that in a high volume venue then you shouldn't be a bartender.
Also, the bathrooms are pretty gross.
Dive bar that's a little cooler than most. Lots of regular locals. Went with some friends for super bowl so a little different than most days, I'm sure. People smoke pot in the bathrooms and no one seems to notice. Don't think they really sell food, had to walk down the street to some Mexican place. Over all a fun place for a gorup.
I can't even begin to tell you how many good times I have had at this place.
Planting Seeds. Dollar Beers. My 23rd birthday bash that I will never ever forget, probably because it has been the best one by far....
I live kinda far now, but I love Time Out and it's patio. How I wish I still lived right around the corner....

Cool enough place with excellent karaoke on Tuesday and Sunday nights. The karaoke song book is over 400 pages long. Awesome! Xtra bonus is free BBQ'd chicken and hamburgers on Sundays starting around 8pm!!
The place could use a lot of touch-up, but it has it's charm if you want a place with real people.

This is a piece of crap dive bar. Rude staff, rude door guy who dresses like he was a wanna be actor from "Grease." The guy has enough grease in his hair to fry a batch of fries though I don't recommend it.
If you're here to see a band be warned. The sounds horrible and pillars are annoying. They're like road blocks. Stick with the outside door patio if you like to smell like an ashtray and only go if you like being treated like a child.
There was an unusual amount of mullets and over-tatood people. There was really only one hot chick, but i heard she did take her top off on stage at the end of the night. I had to run before that happened. Cheep drinks, close to stuff, nice patio, all around good bar.

A little rednecky but thankfully not all white, this place kinda reminded me of a run down bar in a college town when I walked in. They have live music on the weekends (rock mostly), and two pool tables the rest of the time. They also have a large patio area and $4 beers on tap. It's really nothing special, but at least it's a venue. Wear your blue jeans and sneakers, you'll be alright.

Everytime I come here I end up smoking and drinking way too much. That works for me.
One could easily point faults at Time Out....but I say...when in Rome.....
It's 12:20 PM Monday afternoon and I'm walking to Time Out with my friend Sara, who is visiting from Alaska. We get to the door and we get told "we open at 2PM". We're like, oh shit it's only noon?!?! The reason we were so eager to go to Time Out so early is because now that TR's is gone, Time Out is the only place with outdoor seating in downtown Concord, which is very important for my smoking and sun deprived friend Sara. So we go to the brewery around the corner and at exactly 2 PM we're walking into Time Out. I've been walking into Time Out since I was a young lad. Sometimes for Karaoke with friends, see a friend perform or just as a meeting place. But yesterday I got to see the place for the first time during the daytime. Needless to say that it was different experience, but unlike other places that remind you of a "what are you doing in my bed" morning after scream, this place is actually decent with natural light. The place is very impressive and the bartenders are always very in tune. A bid pricy for the hole in the wall it's, but the location and the amenities really make the overprice drinks worth it.
