I came to Seattle on a business trip and the client was located in Mount Lake Terrace.  I decided to jump on Yelp and see what I could find.  I came across Time Out Burgers and we gave it a shot.

Let me start off by saying the portion was HUUUGE!  We both ordered the Time Out Burgers and each got a side of fries.  The Time Out Burger came with sauteed mushrooms, bacon, cheese and your typical lettuce, tomato, onions...bottom line the burger was delicious. The fries were made in house and had a great seasoning on them.

WARNING:  You will be full and want to take a nap immediately so I don't suggest  going here if you want to be productive the rest of the day!

The place itself was a hole in the wall type and it's owned by a very friendly Greek family.  If I lived here this would definitely be a place that I frequented.

This was a random Yelp Blackberry App find.  We had flown into Seattle from Phoenix and were driving up to Vancouver.  We were HUNGRY!  We pulled off the freeway and my wife drove around while I pinged the Yelp App for nearby restaurants.  We struck gold!

This is a very charming, family owned restaurant that masquerades as a burger shack, but on top of the burger menu it also has a pretty substantial Greek menu.

I ordered a patty melt with onion rings and my wife ordered a gyro with Greek salad.  We were not disappointed.  The food was EXCELLENT!   We topped off our appetites each with a piece of delicious baklava.

The owner told us how the restaurant had also been a Mediterranean food market, but that he decided to remove the market and expand the restaurant.  We are sure he will continue to be successful.  This is a great place and we are sorry we did not have time to stop in on our way home.

If you are in the area and looking for food, definitely stop at Time Out Burgers.

This was one of those accidental discoveries for me.

My husband and I were driving by on our way home from Shoreline about two years ago and happened to look over to see the 'blink or you'll miss it' little burger joint.  The signage is somewhat confusing, but once you've found it. . you'll know.

Every time we've patroned the place, I've ordered the same thing: the Hawaiian Burger with chicken instead of beef with a side of fries, and my husband gets the Greek Burger with a side of onion rings.  The last time we picked up dinner, I added baklava for my dessert.  I love baklava, but always forget this place is owned and operated by a Greek family and actually serves Greek food.  I know, it's clearly stated from the moment you enter.  I just get distracted by my anticipation of the the biggest and juiciest chicken burger I've ever had.  And those fries. . holy goodness!

The only downside I have found is the price.  The portions are sizable, but I still think it's a little on the high side.  Still, I will gladly go out of my way to pick up food from this grill.  I have never had a regrettable bite!

I just moved in the neighborhood from west seattle. I've asked friends and my neighboors where is the best place to get a bite to eat, and the general consensus was "go to Time Out".  So I decided to give it a try.

WOOOOW DUDE! I was very impressed.  I had the Reuben on my first visit, and hands down, it was the best Rueben i've had in my life.  Lots of meat, perfectly toasted Rye bread, and the fries I got with it were REAL POTATOES!
I've been going there for almost a month now, and I have also tried their Greek plates... growing up in Germany (huge Greek population) I've eaten a lot of Greek food, and it doesn't get any better than this.  The Gyros here have fries INSIDE just like they do in Greece.  Despite the other reviews, this is how they make them there.

It seems that they have been doing a lot of renovating since I started going, and the biggest thing is that they added an entrance to the bathroom from the inside.  That's great!

oh yeah... did I tell you about the Rueben? It's AWESOME!

The place is family run, and I love the way I am treated... Time Out really makes me feel like I am part of the family.  Keep up the good work guys!

One of the simplest pleasures in life is great food and family and Time Out Burger is full of both. I will start with the food and I will try my best to put it down in words. I tried all the Greek dishes : the gyros, souvlaki, lamb chops. I must say that they are authentic compared to the food served in Greece and comparative to other Greek places I tried throughout Seattle. I traveled to Greece many times and whenever I enter the restaurant it reminds me of  Greece.

Now the burgers, I tried the Timeout burger, the chicken burger, and the fish burger. They were the best burgers I ever had. Move over red robin, there is a new sheriff in town. The fries are made from scratch, real potatoes, fresh seasoning and if you want you can have them Greek style topped with feta. What else can I tell you, it is amazing.

OH! I forgot to mention the family. Every time I go there they treat me like their own. They greet me with warm smiles and island hospitality.
Only thing I need is a beach now.

Keep up with the good work guys!!

I live right up the street from this place. I'll admit, when it first opened, it was a bit sketchy to me. After being told about how great it was from my sister-in-law, I decided to give it a go.  I started off with the burger, which is fanTASTic!! It's ginormous and you must get it with a ton of yummy crispy fries.  It's been alll up hill from there. I've had Fish & Chips, French Dip, Gyro, Souvlaki, BLT... I've been all over their menu and never been disappointed.

I do have to especially call out their breakfast menu. OMG!! This was probably the best idea they ever had by adding breakfast on weekends. I love going there on sunny Saturdays and eating a big 'ol omlette on their porch.  We've also ordered breakfast to go when the Seahawks have a morning game and we can't be bothered to make our own or go out for more than a minute.

The last thing I want to tell you about is the great family that runs the place. They are all so friendly and willing to help you out. After just a couple of visits, you'll be treated as one of the family which I find fabulous. Like Norm on Cheers.

Cheers!

Whenever Im craving a good burger I make a bee line for Time Out, though sometimes I end up ordering something else because their menu is large. Their Rueben Sandwhiches are to die for! They make their own cornbeef, so its fresh, and they pile it on!  Its truly amazing.
Their Greek Gyros are fabulous as well, they do they up special by stuffing french fries in them , weird and wonderful!
I love their signature Time Out Burger , along with their home made onion rings and a greek beer.  Our kids love it too because they have fish and chips, calamari, chicken strips and of course, Milkshakes so everyone is happy. They are a family run business with the mom and dad and sons all working happily along side one another.  Mom will constantly check on you to make sure everything is going well.  Im slowly working my way thru the menu and everything Ive had is delicious.

From all the prior reviews I of course had to try the fish and chips and a burger. The fish and chips were awesome! I have never seen pieces of fish that big! You get two huge super thick pieces of cod with seasoned fries. The fries had a wonderful homemade taste to it and the parsley flakes were an extra nice touch. I also shared a cheeseburger and while the bun and condiments were great, the patty itself was a little on the thin side, but overall it was a decent burger. I'll definitely be back but probably will not get a burger, but try the other fried seafood. We also got a large order of onion rings.  ($4) Definitely hand-cut and was quite good.

Aside from the food, the other thing that really stood out was how friendly the staff was. During the course of our meal, we had three different people stop by to ask us how our food was and if we needed everything. On our way out, the young gal' working there even said thank you and have a great day! You don't get friendly service like this at too many places these days.

If you want a nice fried meal (nothing healthy here), in a hole-in-the wall place, with friendly service, this is your place.

I feel like this place gets a better rep because of expectations.  Yes, it's one of maybe four good places to eat at in Mountlake Terrace.  No, that does not mean rate it a five because the burgers and the fish and chips are decent.  The fish has good flavor, but is also messy and a bit greasy.  Even for fried food.  The burgers have decent flavor, but are overpriced for the patties being on the thin side.

The calamari are a bit rubbery, and the seasoning has no flavor.  The clams are insubstantial.  I had the club sandwich, which was ok except for the processed cheese.  The Mongolian beef sandwich was decent.  I'd be tempted to give this place a 2 if not for the Greek food.  I'm not experienced to know what "authentic" Greek would taste like, but the falafel and the chicken gyros havent let me down yet.

I came here to try the fish and chips. Instead, I ended up trying the seafood combo: cod, clam strips, and calamari with seasoned fries. I am addicted to calamari. The calamari was insanely good! Tender inside, crunchy seasoned batter outside with a creamy dipping sauce. I couldn't stop thinking about it! Thanks Bob G. for the recommendation.

The Hawaiian Burger was very tasty. I also had fries, which were just okay, and some of my girlfriend's reuben, which was good. My burger and fries came out to over $9. Seemed a little pricey, hence 3 rather than 4 stars. Would've been happier if I had ordered only the burger.

Three words for you all....NOM!  NOM! NOM!

I should have listened to my Yelp-buddy Marissa S., LONG ago, she had reviewed this place and well, it is in my hood, but well, you know how it goes...those best laid plans get delayed, a bit...i.e. snow...

So, we hit up this little Mom and Pop place up over the weekend, G-ma was craving a burger, thanks Travel Channel, damn them and their TV programming.  Any-who, I decided to surprise the crew, since I was driving and the other option was Red Robin...

Tiny little hole in the wall, okay, more like a shack, combined with a "store" that offers "Greek" specialties, this place is such a gem, and in Montlake Terrance no less!

The restaurant had enough tables to seat a large party of 10, our party of 4 and 2 tables of 2, granted the kitchen got a bit bogged down, but we were willing to what, which wasn't all that long.

G-ma and G-pops both had burgers, Snake-girl our youngest had the Calamari meal and I had the lamb souvlaki, boy am I glad I did!

While the burger patties were industrial, i.e. Costco-ish, the burgers were still good, packed with home-style fix'ns atop a fresh bun.  The lamb and the calamari were delish!  And the serving of calamari could choke a horse!  My two kabobs were laced with meaty chunks of some dame fine lamb, juicy and tender.  Fries served with all meals, my plate also had a very nice sized Greek salad, with the usual suspects; toms, cukes, onions, and feta cheese.

A nice Mom and Pop feel to the place, Mom was behind the counter and served the tables, Pops stayed in the kitchen, where he should be.

Next round I'm try'n the Falafel....

This is one of my all time favorite places to go. I try to go at least 1 x a month. would go more often if it was closer to my house. EVERYTHING here is amazing. I am surprised though that no one has reviewed their breakfasts. I have to say these guys do a great breakfast as well. There omelets are to die for. Everything on this menu is done well. The Greek coffee milkshake is great too. I always take my friends here and not one person has ever left unhappy. People sometimes wonder about the outside, but you cannot judge a book by its cover. The bonus is that the owners are great people too. I love them! They also have the best gyros in Seattle. They are the closest I have been able to find to those that you get in Greece.

Didn't have a burger but a lot of these folks also raved about the gyro so tried that chicken-style. Guess those clowns wouldn't know a good gyro from a gyroscope (or should I say yeeeero from a yeeeeroscope). Plenty of meat, no issue there but that alone doesn't qualify as a quality gyro. Had a few onions, tomatoes, a weak tzatziki sauce, and FRIES. In the sandwich. Nice try, no cigar. No cucumbers, not enough veggies or good tzatziki sauce to compliment the chickenflesh. Subpar compared to Mr. Gyro on Greenwood and others.

Wow, incredible fish and chips!  The wife called me up and said to find some fish and chips on the way home from Lynnwood.  A short Yelp search yielded this "burger" place.  We were not disappointed.  The fish and tartar sauce was incredible.  I wish I lived closer...

Best Falafel I have ever had.

I work just down the street, and so have been here a few times, and it is never disappointing. I love Greek food and Greek Men and luckily this place is full of both.

But really, it's all about the Falafel.

Five Stars?  Well this is for the Fish and Chips.  They told me they were good, and of course they are biased.

Well, I tried them today.  2 very big fillets of fish, breaded with a very crunchy coating.  Fish juicy and not dried out, Delish!!

And even though I shouldn't have fries - I got them.  They were spiced excellently.

But all this created a real delema.  Good fish or good fries shouldn't need tarter sauce.  I made the mistake of tasting the tarter sauce - it was too good not to eat and the fish and fries were so good they didn't need it.  It was difficult, but somehow I struggled through eating the fish, fries and tarter sauce.

After disappointing fish and chip orders at Ivars and Spuds, this place was far above.  The fish was enough to fill me without the fries, and all for under 10 dollars.  Save 5 to 10 bucks the next time you want fish and chips and come here.

i haven't had the burgers.

i have had a gyro (FRIES IN THE PITA ftw), fish and chips (beyond good, with tartar sauce that you'll lick out of the cup), the souvlaki (tasty), and the best damn falafel you'll ever taste. i am not sure why the falafel is so damn good, but it just inspires overuse of the word damn. i keep thinking i will order a burger and then i'm all "falafel...fish...mmph..." the portions are huge, and did i mention the falafel? impossibly crispy yet pillowy and their hot sauce is the real deal. the staff is bloody awesome and now and again i'll take down an old Greek dude's aspirations of being a chess god.

their greek coffee milkshake is a controlled substance in some other states. it will wire you for a good 5 hours. they make real greek coffee sans milkshake, too. they allegedly close at 9 but they've had the open sign on later, occasionally much later, on occasion, most likely if it's been busy.  CLOSED MONDAYS. as museums are full of fine art, the food here is fine art, too...so i think that's why.

Burgers? are you sure mister greek man......??? hmmm interesting when I went up to the counter and realized that the people that owned it were greek.... so I asked myself should I really order a burger or should I order what they recommend?????

hmmm ok... biting the bullet and not ordering a burger.. please jesus don't let me be disappointed...... so we had a little discussion about what I like and don't like ...

my order : a none traditional grilled chicken gyro with fries inside of the pita! omg!!!! fries inside a gyro.. SOLD!!!!you had me at fries.... :)
and a side order of fried calamari.... side.. you mean a full order... they give you massive amounts of food here, and I was a little scared because when people give you alot of food it usually means crappy food :(

but it's actually really good.. :)

I am not quite sure if it is a place where I'd drive to go to... if my parents didn't live in the neighborhood I wouldn't bother taking a drive but I would drop by if you are going to mountlake 9 theaters for a movie..... :)

No spit of meat, alas, but a tasty gyro none the less.  I confess to being confused by the fact they put fries in it though.  What is up with that?

But what really won me over (other than the charming staff) was the Greek Coffee Milkshake.  Caffeine, fat, and flavor...everything you need in a beverage.  Mmmmmm.

I have not had a burger so good since I left Cali. Seattle food is bland. But Time out is the best burger in town. They are up to par with Red Mill Burgers in freemont. But the one thing that is better than Red Mill is the Owners. They are the sweetest people on earth. I will go back again and again, until I die of a heart attack NO BS! I ain't frontin'.

This for me is what a pub should be like!

Not in a strip mall.

Tons of character - age has deff. done this bar right.

A few pool tables, a place to sit outside if you want, basketball shootin' tons of places to sit and huge screens for when the Seahawks play!

Gotta love this bar!

Tiny little place in an out-of-the-way location near the Mountlake 9 cinemas that serves big tasty burgers "like they used to be".  Get a combo to go before the movie or bring the kids to try the special menu. The gyros are my favorite choice and I may eventually try one of the big 1/3 pound burgers when I'm feeling extra hungry.
Not much room for sitting and relaxing but when the weather is good, the picnic tables outside are perfect to soak up the sunshine.

I can't give these guys an outstanding review and this is why. While their food is quite good and the cook is proud enough to bring it out on a platter, the population of old Greek men made me never want to come back. One in particular decided to yell at me in Greek and proceeded to get angry when I didn't understand him. This is not an experience I am looking for when I just want a damn gyro. Note to the owners, round up your wrinkly customers and make them sit outside in the back of the restaurant, you will be MUCH more popular.

Time Out is one of my favorite places for Greek food and burgers. The first time I went I had a burger. When they brought it out to me it was so huge, I couldn't believe my eyes! It was so big, I don't believe I finished it. The next time I went, I remembered how big the burgers were and shared one with my boyfriend. I've also tried their Greek plates, which are just as good, if not better than their burgers. I only have 2 gripes about the place: 1. they take an unusually long amount of time to bring out your food (but it is worth the wait) and 2. when I used their bathroom, they were cleaning something out back and it was really disgusting!! Other than that, I recommend the place!

It feels pretty strange walking into a building with the Greek-inspired blue and white colors, walking up to the counter surrounded by display cases full of Greek treats and imported Greek foods, and look the cashier, who is probably also Greek, straight in the eye and say, "I'll take a bacon cheeseburger with fries please." A strange feeling indeed. Fortunately, the strange feeling ends as soon as you start eating their creation. The burger is definitely a decent burger of the fast food variety. The patty is the standard factory type, but they do season things nicely and the bun is a notch or two above the standard hamburger bun used at most other places. The bun is definitely more substantial. With fresh crisp veggies and nicely seasoned crispy fries, it is a happy burger dining experience. A note concerning how they package to-go orders. Like another reviewer mentioned, the burger is placed in a foam container not completely assembled. Don't expect to get an order to-go and start eating immediately as soon as you walk out the door. The burger needs to be put together before you can start. Parking is limited. I haven't tried any of their Greek food yet, but I will return again.
