3 reviews for Tiki Terrace Restaurant Kaanapali Beach Hotel
Okay, so this review is about 4 years late, but whatever, the feeling's all the same today as it would have been back then!
I don't recall the name of the dinner dish, it was a seafood feast of sorts. I think it was called "Feast of the Sea" or something like that. But the one thing most memorable was the dessert that the last reviewer mentions : "Banana caramel eruption."
WOW, it was so good. I was fuller than full and couldn't help but stuff myself silly with its deliciousness. We recently visited Maui a week and a half ago but didn't make it for a de ja vu', so all I have is an old memory to savor!
I can't believe there aren't more reviews about it. I guess the Tiki Terrace is one of those hidden gems. Good..more banana caramel eruption for me!
The Mixed Plate located on the grounds of the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel was a great buffet breakfast spot. We had a vacation package with Pleasant Holidays that provided free breakfast vouchers. I had eggs over easy with steamed white rice every day, along with a barrage of tropical juices like guava, and of course, good old coffee.
Ate here our first night in Maui, because we were staying at the KBH.
It was a weeknight so there wasn't any live music, which would have made it more memorable. I had Mahi Mahi that had some sort of cheese and artichoke layer cooked on top. I can't really remember, but it was good. My boyfriend ordered the lamb chops. We both couldn't finish our meals, they were so big.
This place is pretty pricey, but what isn't in Kaanapali?
The Fiance and I came to the Tiki Terrace for dinner. The Tiki Terrace is the signature restaurant of the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. Settle in their courtyard you can get a good view of their stage where they put on nightly Hawaiian song and dance shows.
The fiance and I were greeted and was immediately shown an outdoor spot close to the stage even without reservations. There is no guessing here to the type of food Tiki Terrace serves, its a Hawaiian/Seafood Restaurant. Prices here are moderate. You're looking about $7 -$10 for appetizers & salads and $20 - $30 for most entrees. We got our menu and selected. The Fiance only could choose their roasted vegetarian plate. I got the fish special which was the Opakapaka. We also ordered the Tomato Ceviche as an appetizer and I ordered a Lava Flow.
We got our Tomato Ceviche and it tasted nice fresh. Just something about fresh Maui Onions that add something special. Portion size was good too. Definitely generous with plenty to share for two. After our appetizers we got our main meal. The Fiance got a nice large plate of veggies and tofu. While she didn't like this one as much as the one at Pacific-O, but this one was pretty good. Very tasty and fresh veggies, and a really solid solid combination. My Opakapaka was great. Probably the best fish meal I had all trip. Cooked just right with the right amount of flavoring to it. I was in my own little bit of heaven in paradise. I was glad to to get the Opakapaka because it's hard to find and this taste just right.
After a very solid meal, we decided to get dessert. We got the Banana Caramel Eruption. Again this was another homerun. The combination of caramel, brownies, vanilla ice cream and macadamia nuts made this the best dessert we had in a long time.
The service was solid too. Very attentive without being in your face. He took good care of us. We also had good seats to see the free nightly Hawaiian show. Great way to entertain us during our meal. Overall a very solid dinning experience. The Tiki Terrace comes highly recommended as an excellent hidden gem. Solid 4 stars and definitely worth a look at if you're in the area.
