One of my Favorite spots to get great gifts and knick-knacks! They have a great selection of Blue Q items(http://blueq.com) and funny gum packs!

What i love about this place is that it has various amounts of random stuff! Everything from vintage cowboys to jesus necklaces!

If you are in need of a quirky gift this is the place to get it!

Really, the name of the store says it all.  Floor to ceiling chock full of tiggy-winkles (all manner of gift items).  Special warning:  A  man could get hives walking in there.

This store is a unique, character-filled space in downtown Riverside, packed with fun,  items. I guess I'd recommend gift certificates because there are so many and varied gift selections. Seemingly hand-picked vintage embroidered dresses, gorgeous wrapping paper and party supplies, and every kind of accessory for the kitchen, bedroom or bath are becomingly stacked on shelves and tables. Good for showing your family during the holidays.

The name of the shop conjured up the image of Beatrix Potter's little Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle: a bustling little hedgehog with a shawl and her little spikes sticking up through it.  We have read those books many times.
The shop itself is rather cute as well!  I bought vintage reprinted Valentines' to mail out.  I know I am lazy for not just going to flicker and printing some out but they were right there and they were so adorable!

I've been shopping at Mrs. Tiggy-Winkles since the shop was located across the street, in the Mission Inn, about 30 yrs ago.  [sigh]  Them were the days!

Back then, there was far more "Made in the GDR" and "Made in Czechoslovakia" than "Made in China," "Made in China" and "Made in China".  [sigh]  Them were the days!

Anyhoo... you can still find great gifts here.  CeeAnn manages to comb the globe for great stuff.

This is one of my favorite places to shop in Riverside (coincidentally, my other favorites are all in the same general area  - I love downtown Riverside!). The shelves and cabinets are overflowing with great stuff (soaps, stationery, candles, toys, I could go on all day), the service is friendly, and the prices are reasonable (not cheap, but reasonable). The store owner clearly has great taste because I can always find way too much stuff I have to have.

While you're in the neighborhood be sure and take one of the Mission Inn tours and check out the other little shops on the mall.

Visiting this independently owned gift store is like dropping in to see a favorite aunt.  The store is crammed with unique and fascinating items each selected by the quirky eye of owner CeeAnn Thiel who presides over its operations with humor and efficiency.

The store is also very much a place where Riverside meets.  One bumps into friends and neighbors and catches up on city issues, which shows that it is very much the center of community life in every way.

In short, a wonderful resource and a great experience.  Don't miss it.

Mrs. Tiggy Winkles (love the name!) has been around downtown Riverside's Main Street Pedestrian Mall for as long as I can remember.  It used to be a crowded, claustraphobic gift store; but when a shop called Farthing's next door closed down, Tiggy Winkle's expanded into it and the place has become far more pleasant to visit.

Across the Main Street plaza from the historic Mission Inn, Mrs. Tiggy Winkles is located in the Citizen's Valley Bank building.  Like Magnolia's down the street - its very much a "chick shop".  A nice place to bring a female date or family member when they want to poke through gift and knick-knack shops.

They usually have a nice selection of cards, books, decorating items and sometimes some cute Mary Englebright and Classic Pooh stuff.

The place is still a little crowded and cramped, thus only 4 stars; but nowhere near as much as it used to be.  Worth a look if your into such things.

Despite what the name might imply, this is not some sort of bastion for pedophiles. I'm always mildly embarrassed to say the name to someone who doesn't know what you're talking about.

Anyways. . . (I feel better) this little shop in downtown Riverside is perfect for any little gifts that you need to buy. They have a huge selection of soaps and all other smelling items. They carry Crabtree & Evelyn and other namebrands.

Also, they have funkier items for people who like to feel like they're giving a unique gift. They have some of those sassy girl products that are popular right now.  Example: one whole aisle of girl cowboy items.

I haven't frequented the sort of home section much, but when I glanced, it looked like they had vintage/vintage-esque items like patterned aprons and 50s style tableclothes.

For the perfect finishing touch, they have a great assortment of those high quality wrapping papers in unique patterns.

One last thing, as with most independent gift shops, this is not exactly a cheap place for gifts, but it's not terrible either.

good lord, does my mom love this place. and yes, i mocked it mercilessly for years.

but you know...it's got a lot of rad book-related things, crazy knick-knacks, and it's a locally owned business. these are all things to be stoked about...

even if my 14-yr-old self is cringing.

Mrs. Tiggy-Winkles, an independently-owned gift shop founded by 32-years ago by CeeAnn Thiel, is named after a Beatrix Potter character. CeeAnn is, in every sense of the word, a local personality. She is the one who is elegantly but electically dressed with the stylish short hair who greets visitors to her store.

She has been an advocate of the revitalization of downtown Riveside for years and now the area IS going through a revitalization. Hopefully the city will protect this  place.

CeeAnn personally selects the gifts in her store. The gifts range from the spectrum of traditional to hip. You can find a gift for anyone on your list, from baby items, toys, nice toiletry products, decorative houseware, greeting cards, books, and music cds. She even carries Danskso clogs and Hobo handbags.

The store is an annual stop for me during the winter holiday and there is a special section decorated and arranged for the holiday shopping.

Her sister Susie and her husband Mark own Simple Simon's a few stores down.
